Purely going from memory, but I thought I'd seen an announcement or Forum thread that the 32 bit problem was resolved....at the same time as the "600-300 Error" whatever 'that" was. Those were done (I believe) during the Emergency Maintenance they had last week.
What do you mean?. Are you saying you have Windows 10 64bit?. If so you do NOT have to reformat. You can simply just upgrade, keep all your files you have now and your done. Always make a backup of your current file system just encase but it's easy to do. Worst case, you do a clean fresh install but you are able to get on the game if you want to that bad.
If you have 32 bit version of Windows 7 or 8, you can not upgrade directly to Window 10 64 bit without doing a fresh install. You can do it without formatting but you will need to reinstall all programs.
switching from 32 to 64 DOES REQUIRE fresh install. that means format. usually delete partition during the installing and make a new one. format and then install.
only can back up files not programs. all programs need to be installed.
