I think Zanpuko is limited on his ability to express the details of his complaint. First of all, I wholeheartedly agree with him about the toxic market situation. Having played on at least 10 different dekaron servers, there are distinct signs of a healthy vs a destructive market.
In a healthy market, prices are realistic, people are able to sell things in a reasonable amount of time, and because of the 2 reasons listed before there is a lot of activity on the server. These facts simply translate into the fact that players get a sense of overall stability, and because they can make and spend dil, they will feel they can project later into the game and accomplish goals.
A toxic market, which we are in right now, can easily cause the death of a server in a short period of time. The following signs are more than apparent right now; people have unrealistic prices due to the fact of pure greed, the greed is stimulated with the inability to make little, if any dil at all, the population and activity in the server has taken a "nose dive" because people project no future in the later stages of the game. Not to mention that, in my opinion, papaya has gotten to greedy as well as failed to protect the server from bots and hackers, which seem to run all over. It doesn't help that a lot of con people are trying to rip people off when they try to sell or shout just so they can profit off of their possible ignorance. This fact also drives people to eventually say, "Hey, there are a lot of other games out there why the hell should I put up with a dying server?" Those people would have a right to ask that question as this server is definitely heading in the wrong direction for stability and entertainment purposes.
To be fair, I know that it costs a lot of money to run a server, and that it is hard to have enough staff to run things. Also, I know that you can't control what people are like or what people will do or say to a degree, due to freedom of speech and what not. For me, as a long time veteran player who just wants to see this game prosper and thrive, and has seen how horrible markets and management can be, just would like to save the "sinking ship." If admin and players would actually take the time to read this I have a few ideas. I want to stress one thing before I continue. My intention is not to project myself as an expert here, only to try and help with a way to save and stimulate a healthy market, and to bring players back through the experience I already have.
Players, you want to make a lot of dil and get all the best gear you can to pk, compete, have fun, or whatever reasons you might have to play this game. What most people forget is if there aren't enough people to compete with you, you're going to obviously get bored, feel you've wasted all that money you spent, or your going to just pk lower levels to keep having "limited fun." People need to be realistic about prices on gear and items in order to keep people on the server. For instance, meister skill books are unbelievably high priced by all. When you consider that there is a chance you could fail the attempt to level a skill compared to how hard it is to make dil right now, it's unrealistic. The result is that people who reach 170 + are going to really think about the reasons to stay playing this game when you have to have almost a bil dil every time you wish to attempt a skill level increase. Players need to take a stand against people who try to rip others off as well, in order to stop unnecessary BS in the market. Undercutting players, until a price on an item is so low that it is not worth buying talismans from the d-shop to make dil doesn't make sense as well.
Papaya team, maybe a survey to all players on what they want to see or have you implement, not via the forums, but in another way to reach the majority of the population. Secondly, more items in d-shop reasonably priced that can be sold in the market, availability of good wings that seem impossible to find and that people, like myself will pay for, and that don't have the aesthetic value of a child's toy. Finding permanent red dk wings is a pain, and the going price is unreachable by most (25-30bil). Please get rid of the hackers and bots that seem to be gaining ground on a daily basis, and if you don't have the staff, hire more staff to help, or ask me, I'll work hard to make the game better.
Sorry if this was lengthy; at least it was in organized paragraphs lol. As a concerned player, I find myself questioning the logic of playing a game that is no longer entertaining for the last month or so. Only way for it to change players is to make your voice be heard and to take a stand against BS in the game. Obviously, without a server = no money for papaya, and without players and a healthy market = dead server. Personally, I will be looking for another game until support for this one is actually taken more seriously.
Did you expect a healthy market of junks being sold and from those players who just looking for buying and reselling? Most of the stuff people can farm quite easy and basically some quest items like for Dragonic Perpetuus and couple others are account bound, wich could be a really good opportunity for older players to revisit those dgs and farm.
Yes, there are problems "in game". But there are still many of us who can't even login with any stability since the transition to Papaya. I know many long term players who were high level had this problem and likely have moved on to other games where they can at least assuredly login and not be disconnected due to server instability.
So it doesn't surprise me in the least that there are fewer and fewer players here, aside from the issues already mentioned above.
Shadow Aloken I highly disagree with you. The market doesn't have a lot of junk lol. There are plenty of good items, just too many resellers and "unrealistic" or unknowledgeable people who don't understand the market. More than anything, people don't care about the market as much as themselves and don't think of the overall effect of the market now, and in the immediate future
THE IN GAME TO / DSHOP RATIO IS A HUGE FAIL, U COMPLETE A 20-30 MINUTE DUNGEON BAM 5% STONE REWARD WTF IS THIS BULLSHET?
U SHUD BE ABLE TO FARM MORE OR GET MORE REWARD, OLD DUNGEONS NEED REWARDS CUS PLAYERS LITERALLY PLAY TIL LVL 150 AND AINT EVEN ABLE TO FARM 30MILLION WHEN A PRICK SPENDS 5 DOLLARS AND MAYBE BUYS 1 TALI SELL IZI FOR 100MILLION OR ABOVE WHAT THE FK IS THIS RATIO MAN? THEY CAN FIX IF U ARE ABLE TO FARM OR GRIND HIGHER VALUE ITEMS INSTEAD OF THAT SHIT
I absolutely agree with you. A simple "patch" to the issue (not complete solution, just easing it for a while), would be fixing middleman reports so they show ALL items that are being sold, even if some would be unsorted, under "miscellaneous" or whatever. Allowing sellers to express prices in platinum and buyers to directly buy with them could also help, if moving purchase & store limit to 10 billion dils is technically problematic...
The game is dying because 15% can't even log into the the game including me. I've been playing since acclaim. And this is ridiculous it's been. Like. 7 months and they still haven't fixed it. Also there's so much hackers now and duping again. The xingcode fix didnt doesnt do anything when xingcode is bypassed completely. I have missed out on so many events now. I'm pretty much about to give up and quit waiting at this point. And yeah the market. Takes like a week to sell something because people pm and ask for price trying to low ball. And then they sell things over priced. Impatient people by nature are screwed.
