they do trigger but itll take alot more to trigger on open maps unless you have like 4 players in party using steamed bass (fixate 6 mobs). they trigger easier inside an ib dungeon(A B C 2) also triggers alot in crespo treasure dungeon. there has to be substantial amount of mobs killed at once for them to trigger....
if you are only killing say 4 mobs at a time it will not work. increase mob count and itll trigger.
I don't know what is changed about them but i personally feel like i wasted money buying them today when i rejoined global.I used them while nexon still owned dk and there are some visible nerfs to them:
1st.Not working in normal maps(i used to make 3 mob lures in crespo back in the day and they would still trigger).So that killing the right amount of mobs bs is plain bs, sorry.
2nd.They do tend to trigger in IB( rarely af i might add compared to old runes).Anyway i figure new ppl that join don't use it cause there are no tickets anymore so there goes IB.
3rd.The "trigger conditions".Just today i heard several of those:you have to crit more, you have to let mobs attack you a bit(my personal favorite so far lmfao), or the last one i just saw(mobs must be white).Let me tell you people tried finding a probable cause of trigger even back in nexon time while i was staying afk in IB drinking my coffee and watching them trigger by themselves.
In conclusion, i apologize for this rant.I was there when runes were first introduced and i just feel like the new mechanics for them is a scam.If this wasn't done on purpose, it still doesn't matter.No one gives a shit anymore.
1) They trigger @ any place, even in ardeca mobs, just the exp is different depending on mob lvl
2) Most people use it @ ib2 + crazy mode
3) All BS, there is no such trigger condition, the only thing that matter is who own the mob, usually who hits first.
This feeling of nerfed runes is because those are different runes, and yeah they trigger much less often.
I myself tested that rune pack vs watermelon, what I found, watermelon alone is as good as the entire pack together, sometimes even better. But it stills the fastest way to level.
On all of my other characters, they have worked and activated right from the get go, but having just created a mage, I am currently level 102 and haven't had a single rune activate.
I am getting loads of critical hits, I am attacking mobs which are white and I am pulling 12 - 18 mobs a pull, but still no runes activate...
It is getting rather annoying now.
I have sent Papaya a ticket explaining the problem, I will post their reply in here once I get one.

i believe you man it's just that since lvl 1 til now(112) i must've killed over 1k mobs on maps without 1 trigger.That being said, the first time i entered IB at 95 with my mate we were able to clear only 1 wave and then fail cause we are weak af.But guess what, that one wave triggered a rune while 1k mobs couldnt.From what i can see its not just me and my friend that have bugged runes, its other people too.
We're playing wizard and ak but this isn't class related for sure.
So naturally at this rate we have to lvl as if we have no runes.I'd rather wait for a fix and donate all over again.Joke's on me i guess.

As for compensation, i dont think there will be any
3 out of the 5 runes on the rune pack are like the quickness rune. they only give about 1/2 the exp of a regular rune when they trigger, and typically I've noticed they trigger about 1/2 as often. but the trigger rate may just be my observation. The exp isn't.
They nerfed it for sure if I compare runes before papaya and now its really different trigger chance. When i was playing on mage (170+lvl) using runes pack even without hot time rune which doesnt work at all i had alomst 70% per run. Now with runes pack, incar, meister and battlefield i get half of it or less. Atm on 175lvl i make someting around 20+ % on IB with crazy mode and 10% without + exp coins from boss if they drop ofc. But to be honest i cant complain its still much faster than df and other leveling ways. The only problem is that the game costs more than any other pay to play productions.
