At the moment game has a lot of major problems:
    1. Overclocking - It's a big problem for this game and fixing it is very easy. A lot of people are abusing this, because Nexon didn't even ban for this ... And it was a miracle when they actually did it.
    2. Cheating - Another big problem. I think that Battleye that is in the Blackshot could resolve that problem.
    3. Unbalanced weapons - Dream Execution rebalanced some weapons and vehicles already when this patch will hit our version game should be better. But as we know actual weapon balance in game is old. With new update I'm hoping for complete balance from Korean version (AK47 recoil etc.).
    4. Poor game performance. Something is wrong with the game. All other version have no problems like that. People with powerfull rigs are struggling to get stable FPS. This needs to be changed.
    5. Base reaping in BG - I think I don't need to explain that.
    6. Level rewards - I've made a topic on Nexon forum about it. Level rewards after 50 level are very bad. From 1-50 level you are getting rewards almost by every level up, but after 50 level it is horror. Also we still didn't get updated reward list that has been promised 9 months ago ...
    7. Community - Nexon didn't care about us too much. At the moment our community is very toxic, because no one is taking care about it. It's like growing up without parents. You can do whatever you want without any punishment ...
    8. Events - We need more in-game events. Nexon did them for a month maybe ... I remember the fun from it when G1/K2 was a publisher (especially WarRock Olympics).

There is probably a lot of more issues, but those are the most important one (in my opinion).
I would want too see opinion of Killingtime. Probably he has a lot of more to say :)

I think the main issue we need to adress is the lack of staff or management, but hopefully that will be solved by the volunteering game masters. It's the one thing that essentially nexon didn't have at the end, which made it such a hell for so many dedicated players including myself.

Other issues can be confronted when this has been solved. I think something to add to Ponury's list could be ingame censorship, I feel like a lot of words have been censored which has nothing to do with toxic behavior, maybe we could "de-censor" a little bit and make people communicate without having to type the words with a whole lot of "0's" or "1's"

Good initiative and thread, looking forward to see changes in the future.

I can see this being a good change for WarRock.. Nexon in my eyes did not care from the start. It was a game on the side that bought them a lot of money...

I don't even think the Home GM's cared that much!

We need to bring back weekly events, brings fun back into the game and players actually feel valued that the owners of the game are giving back!

I haven't played since 2015 but I assume Nexon hasn't even thought about any creative updates for War Rock.

    1. In-Game report system.

    2. Reward the reports.

    3. Better game modes (ESL!!!)

    4. Ranked games with ESL rules.

Could you also make an IQ-test before making an account?
Asking people to kick hackers, their answer: "ME NO HACK ME NO HACK".
    It is just frustrating.

Also, please remove all versions of Scar_H in the game before it is balanced.

Yeah. You've made a lot of great topics about game. I think re-writing them here would be a great idea.

I like @theredeye 's suggestions. Also to add to it maybe a working ranking system like how you guys have for BlackShot

I hope that Papaya Plays follows in the steps of the other WR publisher and removes the premium map restriction. A lot of maps are not played today. A lot of those maps are maps locked behind premium accounts - premium players would rather spend their time in game, not waiting on a lobby to start, so when they host, they host the most popular of maps which becomes a vicious cycle.

I've personally only gotten to play Ravello, Alberon, Rusty Nails, Cold Cave, Dark Glow and surprisingly one Decay since I've come back, along with AI. The one Harbor Ida I saw was a level 1-10 room, so I couldn't join. Every other map that's hosted are ones I'm not a fan of like Red Clover. And you'll notice I'm not mentioning any Explosives maps thus far - the only explosives I've seen have been Marien (which I rarely play) and Cadoro (another one which was played in a 1-10 room).

I went to host a Nerbil, but it requires premium, as do a lot of the CQC Deathmatch maps.

Speaking of Nerbil, I'd love for Papaya to overhaul the filter (it's so easy to customize, they can just pass the filter off to DE for approval). The fact that the name of a map is filtered is ridiculous - you cannot say Nerbil in game. Other words like "her", "admin", and "gm" being filtered is also ludicrous.

I'd personally love to get a fun filter like we had in the K2 days. The f word became Farg. The r word became Teammate. The b word became Beach. All of those bad words just becoming **** is just so impersonal it erases a source of fun in the game.

@linkinxero great ideas! I'd love to see things come back like

    Silver Premium,
    Dinar Packages,
8th slot needs to be Perm and not paid for,

    Hit counters need editing,

MD500 has got weaker over the years and people now tank bullets from them to die.
CQC normal (no event) they tank mega bullets to the head to die yet in big head 1 bullet and they are dead.

I think some key points that need to be fixed are:

    1. Game Balance - make the game more balanced for all players, meaning more F2P weapons that are just as good as the paid ones.
    2. Better Moderation - we need admins online; in-game, on the forums, and replying to tickets from the community.
    3. Performance - We need to sit down with the publisher and talk how can we make WR Global like the other versions of WR. Would it be worth looking into having the game re-coded for newer pcs? Can we have servers for specific parts of the world to make play more enjoyable for everyone? (i'm sure there's lots under this category).
    4. Clan System - We need to make improvements to the clan system because this is what makes the game fun and something for the players to have fun playing.
Feel free to add things below that would be a good to add to this topic. We need to work as a community to help regrow this game to something it used to be.

I would also like to propose that we go back to the system of allowing players to sign out of their account and then sign into another one within the game itself.

Nexon's system requires shutting down WarRock, signing into a different account, and then launching WarRock again. If you try to use the Log Off button in the client, you just get signed right back in and told to pick a server to connect to.

Additionally, can we get rid of the Ending Banner? That is just laggy. I closed the game on purpose - I don't want to see WarRock right now, so don't give me a pop up about WarRock. (Or the game crashed, so just let me back in the game, don't give me a pop up that takes a while to respond to me mashing the close button.)

I think what you are saying @linkinxero is that you wouldnt like to have a client that you log into and then launch the game. Rather you want a launcher with no login required to launch. Do I understand you correctly?

Yeah, that would work by me. Or at least the option to launch the game directly, and then being able to sign in and out within the game.

That is, a Papaya Launcher should only pass on the same login information to the WarRock Client you used to sign into the Papaya Launcher. But if you log out of the WarRock Client, you should be free to sign into any account you want, regardless of the Papaya Launcher (which would preferably be shutdown anyhow).

I think unlegit players are the biggest problem of this game for many years. In order to solve that problem, we can say again lots of general ideas which we have already said. More online admins, a better hackshield system etc.

In my opinion all we need is something stonger, like IP ban system. Dunno if it is possible or not. Just sayin.

To sum up, I wish the new company can find a REAL solution for this unfair game. Cuz I believe that WarRock has a huge potential.

It just dawned on me a great way to get me to engage in BG would be to get rid of the lock on warning pilots get (and tanks too - let's get javelin back to being useful). Right now there are two ways to try to hit - let's not even worry about trying to kill, as after they get hit once, they're fleeing - a pilot with something like the stinger. You lock on to them - and keep the lock for at least 10 seconds - and the lock on warning disappears for them. Savvy pilots though will keep an eye out for the rocket missing them to know they successfully evaded the shot, and if they don't see a rocket at all, they're going to assume they're still locked on. Alternatively, you just shoot without a lock on, and that requires some great skill to do.

This means that novices to the game have no fighting chance against pilots. They'll never figure out without being told that the lock on warning goes away if you hold it long enough - never mind you have to stay alive more than 15 seconds to even get your lock on set and held for that long - so pilots don't have to worry there. And they're not going to be able to just eyeball a shot accounting for the drop in the rocket and leading the pilot.

This is in part why the AW50F rose to such great popularity in BG - there's no lock on warning, and it's a lot easier to shoot because bullet drop doesn't exist for AW50F and there's far less leading required.

    ---

I'd also take this attempt at BG balancing a step further. Make a lock on deal 2/3 of the damage compared to a non-lock on, to incentivize players to not do lock ons. And make a non-lock shot deal a 1 hit KILL to most vehicles, with only the slow and bulky vehicles like the Hamina and Chinook. (Though I don't know if you should work in a non-lock on option to the Javelin; generally the land vehicles aren't as hard to hit and a non-lock on option would make it outclass other weapons like RPG.)

@TheRedEye If they did bring the ESL game modes to WarRock, that would make this game the best ever. With no lag, ESL community would be 100% active. Also, new players coming to ESL would just do better for WarRock as It's a team based game and not a game where you need P2P to win.
  • SirJuxSirJux Posts: 64Member Beginner
For ESL i'd say you need bigger maps than 2 seconds to first contact with enemy. There are so few maps on cqc that take longer than few seconds to reach enemy.
Small maps leave no room for strategy as well. Everything can be memorized, almost every step can be heard. First to see enemy is 99% certain to get the kill.

for BG lock-on good idea would be that it warns the pilot, but DOES NOT show on minimap where the lock-on is from. with MD its quite easy to dodge stinger and when u know where the exact position that it was shot from was, then you can too easily handle that.

I agree with what @Ponury said, however I would put player vs player lag as a nr.1 problem, because if you fix this, at least you can play fine in private rooms against friends, now I can't even play against friends from my own country without lag, that's just ridiculous.

And point 5. from him, this problem would at least partly go away with the weapon balance and better performance.

Then I would like to make hes point 5. as a "general balance, map balance and mechanics balance" there are problems in cqc too and even in the game mechanics.

Also my own wish is for Papaya to look at these problems before the release and attempt to make as good release as possible, I'm talking lag free from the beginning and looking into the other problems too, maybe even doing a little balancing and fixing and "cleaning".

This way Papaya wouldn't scare away any possible new players and returning old players.

And if the Papaya guys don't understand these problems, I wish for them to ask help from community.
