Migration Error: Please use correct e-mail format.

PapitoooPapitooo Posts: 3Member Beginner
Hello,

I've came online today to do the migration from Nexon to Papaya Play.
Starting up War Rock goes with no problems, but when I need to fill in my e-mail and go through with the proces, I get the following error when I pressed "CONFIRM MIGRATION".

"Please use correct e-mail format." is the error I get, and my e-mail is correct, it's the same that is connected with my Nexon Launcher.

Any idea's on how to fix? Thanks in advance,

Kind  Regards,
Papito

Hi @Papitooo does your email contain characters other than letters or numbers like "- _ "? A fair few users have been experiencing problems when the email contains those characters.

Try a different email or contact Nexon Support team and they can assist you further.

    Hey @v0nndutch ,

    Kind Regards,

@papitooo no, it does not have to be the same email when migrating your account. it can be any email of your choosing.

Can you provide a screenshot of this error? Is it in the webpage that gives you the error, or a pop up in game that gives you this error? I'm trying to figure out if this is Papaya or Nexon side that it'd be an error.

@Papitoo I believe any email address but I used my email address which has a - in it and it worked for me.

Weird that certain users are getting this problem.

    Have you sorted it yet?

Make sure you are using an email format example@example.com. Make sure you have a valid domain behind your email address otherwise it wont work. Please let us know if the error still happens.

Update: I can't figure out any problems for it, though there are likely situations I have not tried. I'd need a screenshot from someone having this problem to help clue me into the issue. We can't ask for email addresses, but if you can replicate the format with special characters like I do below, that would be great for guiding my testing.

A possibly unrelated oddity is that when you enter an email in the WarRock client, but then change the email on the Papaya registration page, the confirmation page will use the email you entered in the WarRock client.
I entered in the WR launcher abc-ghi_@jkl.com, which was an incorrect email. On the Papaya website, I changed that email address to abc-_def@ghi.com, but the confirmation page displayed the original abc-ghi_@jkl.com email. However, it did process the correct abc-_def@ghi.com because I received a confirmation email.
But in this situation, - and _ seem to be allowed.

I cannot register an email address with Nexon using the + character, which has a non-standardized behavior between different email providers; I wonder if people had that character in previous email registrations with Nexon and that's causing a problem. I didn't try entering a + character in the email I use for papaya registration though...
