Some core things to know are based upon class (as for most mmos). Ex/ Physical classes focus on strength & Magic classes focus on well magic. But depending on what class you choose. There are certain little variables that change. Warriors have high strength but low magic and luck. Knights have high stamina but medium strength and luck and low magic. The list goes on. Also, when its comes to actual gameplay. Starting out can be a bit tricky if you aren't too certain on what to do. I suggest if you follow the map and quest for your first time around until you are around level 150. Quest at that point begin to slow down. For grinding your way through levels, there are certain locations players would normally go to, to grind. Around level 40 (or how confident you are in your strength) you can talk to Shalo, he is an NPC located in any of the towns you can visit in Jiendia. Another thing you will pick up while killing mobs are miscellaneous items or items in the "Other" tab. Some items in this tab are useful. Some are junk. You can differentiate which ones are which by the label under their level limit. Which are Crafting, Item Codex, or no label at all. Items with the Codex label are very useful, you can take those to Ignate in Elias and try your chance at learning the item's knowledge. The knowledge gained gives stats. Nothing big (usually) but they are important. And the more you have, the better off you are. Killing monsters will also give you the chance of collecting their monster card. Monster cards are simlar to codex items. But you just have to click on them in your consume inventory. There will be a possibility you can learn the monster card and gain stats, similar to the codex items. I personally suggest taking some time and collecting both Codexable items and Monster cards. The stats they give, with time and the more you collect. Add up big time, its a boost well worth it. The stats will also carry over to any other characters you make which is great. If you have any other questions regarding starting up. Ask away. There are a lot of kind and generous people here willing to answer you!

You will also find that Critical Damage is essential to your overall damage output. Thus, as you progress through the game, it is key that you try to enchant high critical damage onto your gloves (ones that you plan on using long-term), and hoard pets that grant critical damage. Although this will be highly unlikely for you, a new player, since the server is transferring to Papaya Play with all previous data deleted, I believe knowing that having pets is important to your damage, should you plan to restart on the new server.

You should also take some time to check the towns and ways to reach them as you make your way to 150 so that if you invite friends, you can guide them around and not get lost. Not only that but learn the names of each one for if you decide to make a new character to try another class, it will make it way easier for you to traverse the game.
One other point is the Party Index, you can create a party there and write a message so that players know what is that party about, be it a party for a dungeon or if you need help with something.

Don't be shy to ask around if you get confused about something during the gameplay, and if a player is rude to you, don't let that discourage you from playing, just look for someone else that is willing to give you a helping hand (all of this is obvious but hey, there is no problem in a good reminder).

You'll need patience and time.Upon advancing in job classes and reaching the fourth, you're going have to do a lot of quests to receive your fourth job.

Also to farm for the things you need or want...

Leveling up around the level 180s..

Don't let this discourage you though, regardless of how long it takes, it'll be worth it.

When you get to level 185 you might find this guide extremely useful: http://archive.is/M9NBD
