It's not the reason why people stop playing bg, but I agree that its not perfect like that.
It's just an attempt to balance BG, but I think there are better ways, so if they will balance it properly then they can take it out, now BG is bad anyway so just let it be.
The Deathcam really needs to be a replay, not an enemy-team-spectator.
I lean toward getting rid of death cam.
The fact is you are actually disadvantaged in turning it off, so you should leave it on. We'd need a total removal of it from the game. Because the deathcam let's you know exactly where the enemy is going right up until you spawn, it's too much of an advantage for the enemy team to have that over you vs you over them.
I would like to turn off my deathcam, because I prefer my camera from my body - I can follow the enemy to a certain degree, but if they go into another room or behind a hill, then I don't know where they went.
And that is the problem that people had with snipers and why people support death cam to balance out snipers. The issue is that because of the red dot, you can figure out where the sniper was that killed you if you didn't actually see it. And if other balancing changes come to the sniper class to prevent them being overpowered, it would be fair to remove death cam.
Some people also claim that death cam gives you proof someone is hacking. I argue - not really. You don't get to see the enemy HP or SP, so you can't tell if they have infinite sp or not unless they go explicit with 5+ rolls in a row. You don't need death cam to see they are superjumping or OPK'ing. Death cam does not at all show you that they are using chams (see through wall), unless you yourself are using it and see they are keeping your teammates centered on their screen as they cast their gaze unto a wall.
It also comes with bugs like interrupting you typing and trying to prevent you typing. And you can't see chat when you're using death cam. Maybe that's a plus to reduce flaming after a death. Sometimes it gets in the way of me trying to respawn - I press Tab and Enter to get ready for the next spawn cycle. But every once in a while, the death cam appears after I press Tab, and it ignores my Enter, so I miss the cycle. Even though deathcam itself says you can press Space (or Enter?) to get yourself ready to spawn, if you time it wrong, it won't acknowledge you did press it.
Curious to ask, why is BG bad now in your opinion. For me its the opposite - all cqc maps are so boring and two-dimensional. It really bothers me that people choose to play same limited moves over and over while on BG they could actually improve themselves.
BG is bad for me because vehicles reign supreme. I'd really only go there to play a Montana or Emblem where vehicles aren't as critical. But I can't do air maps. Instant kill helis that you can't defend yourself against (unless you have AW50F) is too unbalancing. It becomes a game of hide and seek and wait out the timer.
And you don't get a chance to learn air vehicles because training mode doesn't have them (last I checked) and you'd get kicked if you dare try to use an air vehicle because the pros that depend on it won't let you have it.
So the only way I can even play BG is in a map where there are not enough vehicles for everyone, and if it's a bigger map, I play Sniper.
I think the one exception is perhaps Ohara where I can still use an M249 decently. If I go back a few years to being able to snipe really well with an RPG, I'd consider it. But again, getting the practice in requires hundreds of deaths.
The only OP vehicle on BG is MD500 as its too agile and You cant really hide from it. And tbh its not really about learning the vehicles or not. It seems to me that you either just dont use heavy troopers enough ( like mrterror - who complains about tanks but never goes heavy to take them out). OR you just dont have the gear/skills to take vehicles out.
but back to deathcam... there is an option to remove deathcam for yourself from the game. To make things fair for that player, if you toggle this, then it shouldn't be possible for your enemy to see your deathcam either.
I don't have the gear for taking out vehicles. I used to do BG a lot more with M134 as I said, but now that I'm stuck with M249, it keeps me away from vehicles. I'd have to buy up 5th slot and M134 to even be viable there.
Hell, even the antitank mines don't work. You put 3 on top of each other, the enemy blows up, but lo and behold they jumped out right away and don't get killed. I thought there used to be some kind of explosion radius to them, so that even if you jumped out, you were taking damage from the mines as a human anyhow.

While there is that option, I've already commented that it disadvantages yourself.

This is one approach to solving it that I'd be OK with.
