So La Tale was my life a few years back. I used to play it for hours straight with my irl friends for awhile but eventually I grew out of it. I've been meaning to get back into it but I'm now a Mac user.... lol.... is there news, discussion ANYWHERE from the developers/servers about expanding the game to Apple users? I'm desperate to play it w/o hassle e.g. installing bootcamp

You should probably submit a support ticket to Papaya Play.

As it stands there is no and will never be a client for Mac and Linux users. You will either have to use an emulator or run a virtual machine. I heard Mac has no problem running those.

@Aegelweard i asked around in my guildchat. Someone said sometimes even those have issues and don't work when it comes to games. Pretty unfortunate. But @tsumori, I and i'm sure Aegel wish you luck.

@tsumori Unfortunately macs do not support Latale. I have a mac as an alternate computer and I have Latale installed (just for mules) but the only way you can install it is by bootcamp only, meaning adding a windows hardware to your computer. It doesn't take up too much space, though. Good luck! o/

Edit: Keep in mind you need an installation of Windows 7/8/10 on a USB in order to install it on the hardware.

Yeah I was going to suggest Bootcamp.

I would imagine running a virtual machine using a copy of windows could work also, but probably wouldn't be free.

Mac isn't game friendly, but maybe works with virtual machine like virtualbox

After reading some articles I came to the very same conclusion: you need either BootCamp, a Virtual Machine or Wine.

BootCamp would be the best case scenario but it requires you to have a copy of Windows. VM would be a good option too but then again - you need a copy of Windows (any version will do; even XP). Wine requires nothing but does not promise 100% compatibility nor 100% stability.

Games like La Tale are old and were never made with anything other than Windows in mind. Do consider playing through Bootcamp or a VM! It's not hard to set up--sitting around waiting for Windows to install is the worst part imo! I've played Windows-only games for years through Parallels Desktop and seldom encounter issues. La Tale runs well on my Mac since it isn't resource-heavy. There is one minor problem when using a VM where you have to edit a registry setting due to the anti-hacking software La Tale uses, but I'm not sure if that'll remain once the game switches publishers. Either way, it's quick to google and fix.
