Will there be a server for the players from Europe?

European players will most likely end up playing on the same server as NA players. Splitting the population, in my opinion wouldn't work out well.

This question has been brought up several times, I guess. In short: no other server, except for the East Coast one, has been planned.

EU or Brazil or any other server will be opened if: 1) this game does really well in US and 2) target regions will have enough players to sustain their respective servers. It is a business after all.

One thing i can see happening is the server is populated enough that they add more signal strength to it and add more channels and this can help with people further away from the server maybe? :o

As someone from the UK, i really dont want the population split :( 70% of my amazing friends from OGP were from the US and beyond!

I don't know how possible is this, but maybe we can have different channels dedicated to different parts of the globe. Like channels 1 and 2 have their server located on East Coast USA, 2 and 3 on West Coast, etc. Definitely won't see this anytime soon, but it seems like a good idea to reduce latency for everyone and to not have a split playerbase.

I am not an expert on gaming servers but I think all in-game channels are situated within the same server. Thus dedicating specific channels to certain regions is unlikely.

What they could have done (again, not an expert here) is to build sort of a server cluster. How I see this work: West Coast players connect to their server, East Coast players - to their server, EU players - to their server. In reality these three servers are nothing but a nodes of a massive cluster and are relaying their data to one powerful central server via dedicated high-speed optic fiber broadband.

In the end players log-in from different locations, suffer less lag and latency due to close node proximity but they all find themselves playing on the same global server.

That would be a dream come true, I guess. But this solution is very costly and requires LT networking code to be re-written from scratch and greatly optimized.
