RNG makes me sad, but I'm gonna try again!

I'm really excited about a fresh LaTale, but I have a really bad habit in these games where I can't stop myself from taking risks with my equipment. Then I get depressed and sometimes quit the game for a long time. It's really pathetic lol. I'm hoping I can muster up the willpower to just enjoy myself with what I have at any given time and not pine over better equipment that I destroyed. It's not even the RNG that's the problem, it's my own greed and impatience.

There should be a support group for people with this problem so we can all hug it out when things get bad.

    Yeah, it does get really bad. When upgrades used to destroy on failure, and I destroyed something at 98% upgrade rate. The game's RNG sucks sometimes. Even 1-2% failure could mean 100%.

    Basically, if the upgrade or enchant rate is not 100% it is 50/50 then. You will either pass or fail. 98% also translates into 50/50. 

    When it comes to me I personally never risk unless I have a backup. If I make, say, 10/10 25/80 weapon it becomes my backup. If I then make a better 10/10 - it becomes my new backup and I 12/12 my old one. And so on and so forth.

    Yeah, I'm going to try really hard this time to stop myself from being stupid. I think it will help if I don't make more than 1 or 2 characters so my ely won't be spread so thin. Then I can afford to be safer.

    The golden rule here is : "If you don't have a backup, don't do it."

    Be it for gems, for weapons, for armor... anything.

    I once failed 99% enchants seven times in a ROW (my personal best record in bad probabilities yet in any game, seconded by ten times 95%(didn't know pots existed before)) and had to remake my gear all over again. So yeah... learned that the hard way.

    Get yourself some ely equips fast, get to a comfortable level (200 or so), so you can farm for ely and get those enchants started.

    ^ oh man, that's like my worst nightmare. Luckily, one of my 2 favorite jobs is Treasure Hunter.

    Good thing S gear still in! Didn't touch an enchantment till 195 with ymir, then it was a scrappy enchant at that. Want till sky coli when I went all out on enhancements

    Enchanting... all that time wasted. I feel you, man.

    But hey! That might get optimized! Ya never know.
