I see what you mean with the tiers, but I hope you won't let this ruin things for you. Another game came back last year called Dream of Mirror Online and there were people who got really upset about certain things before the game even launched and ended up not playing. I personally quit because I didn't like how they were handling the cash shop and pets.

I know I joked about it 2 posts up but I really don't want to see people give up before starting because they don't like how certain things are being handled. I'm not as addicted to the cash shop in LaTale like I am in DOMO so hopefully I won't be deterred myself.

@Umbrello I WILL play the game. That won't change, as I love LaTale more than any MMO I've played before. Even Maple Story/Elsword/Closers/Dungeon Fighter Online just wouldn't cut it, this game gave me more memories and more fun than all of those games combined.

It still makes me cringe a little for the packages, but I won't quit the game for that.

Nothing can match what i spent on LT but ill take it over not being able to ever play again. Im happy with the packages.

I honestly thought no one would pick up this game again so yeah, and theres enough here to help get back into the flow of the game.

I Completely agree with loveyoudt, i'm not trying to start anything but AugustineVii it sounds like your riding papaya hard. These gifts are trash. almost all of it useless endgame and not worth anything i'v lost while playing on OGP. 9 year and 3k very, no extremely little to show for it with these "prizes" All of my guild lvl 200+ players used the same word to describe these "gifts" . . . Meh. They dont reflect the time and work we've put in to this game. I mean come on. . . a "sunflower coupon" no genma, no toma? thats a joke.

I actually think it's a little too much of a starting advantage, especially over players who start late enough not to get any of the rewards, or players who can't do a legacy transfer at all.

We're going to be seeing people in Sky on launch day, and probably at least a couple of people who try to banzai an Odin run (Emphasis on try, though..). Dyna will be run in less than a week, though it will be tough. I suspect I'll be in Sky on day 2 and Odin on day 3.

They could've given us a lot less, and frankly I expected them to. It does feel a little too dependent on level, as the only place the time rewards seem to matter at all is in the 201-219 tier.

The problem is I'm not sure how they COULD balance it. Either the people with old accounts would feel hosed for not being "special" or the people with newer accounts at 220 would feel screwed by the gap between them. I think having it tiered below 220 was their way of trying to appease both mentalities.

The problem is you can't put an absolute on "time" like you can something like "level", because it's a matter of what you do with that time. My brother, when he played, was the kind of player who wasted countless hours of his login time practically every day. I was 220 in 2-2 1/2 months. He didn't make 201 in a year. It's hard to gauge what "time" actually means because it's impossible to accurately deduce how people spent that time.

So yes, the hardcore players who actually used their time may feel pretty screwed, and I don't blame them for being upset, I'm just not sure what else Papaya could've done. They've already done more than I thought they would.

@JrGrim -Or maybe I don't have an inflated sense of entitlement. Riding Papaya hard? I'm sorry for showing gratitude to a company who wasn't obligated to give us anything at all but did so because they were kind enough to. It's a GIFT. Not something we're entitled to.

Oh man, this stings a bit lol. Guess being too casual and being sub 200 for all my characters nets me only....tier 3? Guess Ill play as a f2p for nostalgia sake but this isn't enough to make me want to spend a dime, especially losing the amount of stuff Ive hoarded throughout the years. I get that it's hard to please everyone, but still, for me it's a meh. I guess it depends on what type of player you are. I would assume those that spent more than others would feel more slighted than those who spent more time. I get time is money but for a game, usually it's on your spare time :p

Honestly, I would trade everything on any and all tier....if they could max out my inventory tabs LOL and I'd happily start over and possibly spend lightly.

All those memories are still with me (and some on my YouTube channel lol). It's the fact that in every MMO, I dislike having unmaxed inventory, so Im more irked in having to get that back than honestly losing what I have.

Guess Im just weird xD.

AugustineVii LunasMoonlight & JrGrim I really must say again that the sunflower set and no Gema was the biggest letdown. The top four things I saw an expressed want for on the forums and the discord were Titles, FASHION. pets and some type of exp boost that would not totally set new players behind.

The ONLY reasons I could think of them not giving them to us is that they plan to delete toma and gema from the game and put everything/ most things in the fs or they made a bad judgment call.

It took me longer to get my first gema set (even though it was not a gema item or a set back then) than it did to get to level 200 -- and I think that speaks for itself.

It'll be a little bit upsetting if I can't get some good fashion easily. I think they should've given everyone some cosmetic stuff like the hair style coupons, eye coupon, and skin tone coupon (not to mention gema / toma). I think people value that pretty highly because LT has really great customization options, but oh well. We still don't know what they have in store for us in terms of events and stuff, so I'll withhold judgement for the moment.

tbh i dont understand why so many people are mad at the rewards. they dont have to yknow... give us anything! i mean really. im mad too i mean im losing over 7k+ amounts of money over 10 years, every fashion in the game. and u dont see me crying. yea i only made it to 207, but its not that big a deal. the only people that are mad are the ones who probably dont have a job to support their gaming hobby. because thats what this is... a HOBBY. if anything you should be more worried about what type of direction papaya will be taking regarding the community/game. because as long as they do right by me. ill be spending that 7k+ again(because i have a stable job and a degree to back me) so guys please be more mindful that they didnt have to give us really anything at all, and be happy with the blessings u receive.

@JellyDonut While I'm happy I had any reward at all, there are still things left to be desired and just had to speak about what I felt wrong about it. That isn't a wrong in any regard, in my opinion.

@GaleWeaver Yeah, fashion will be a worry too. I don't wanna be in those horric (S) sets nor the Sky Coli one... Please. I wouldn't even wear those even if that killed me.

@makimoke I wasn't saying you intentionally as your are part of the few that don't like it for other reasons, i was more saying this toward the people who are blatantly Pushing away everything there getting because there ungrateful, you are right there is a lot to be desired, and i wish they would give me more than what they are. but tbh im more worried about the game staying alive, then things i can always buy back with money.

@JrGrim well i was really mad about the lost too but then i realise gaming is just to having fun!
if u want all that late game gems and stuff, why do you even want to play? i mean isnt that the main thing u do in MMORPGs? lets say u get all that 15% duo gems and late game items, wouldnt that mean "hey i have everythings i want now i can show off haha!" or somethings like that?
im just saying gaming is just to having fun, if u have all the late game items, then why do u even want to play?

@JellyDonut Right, but those ones don't bring anything in the conversation except rants and various ungrateful insults. You can ignore those.
I am too concerned about how they'll do things. They have several games, and we have almost no information on how what events they'll bring into the server, what choices they'll make in the future, how they'll go about player/GM interaction (which I haven't seen much yet in this forum though... Kinda not reassuring for now, but let's judge that in a month or two)...

There are a lot of gray areas we still aren't sure about, so we'll have to wait and see for those. For now, let's just have a talk on what we already know about so the people at PapayaPlay (if they ever see those threads) know what could be wrong and what they did right.

@makimoke Sigh, and thats the sad part about it, they already have several games(as you just stated) and that means there time is going to be split between our community, and their other games, unlike before where OGP had really just 2 games to focus on. i really hope that they put more effort into the community aspect of the game then just being a cash grabber. though you have to understand that to run the servers they need money, and if it looks like they wont get it they will go down the same road that majority of mmos go. hopefully though papaya will prove everyone wrong, and make this chance for latale count. im hopeing for that atleast. im really happy that there are people like you that really care about things like this, as its a major problems in most games, and people overlook it so much. because if you support a game, its your right to be able to talk to Gm/GAs, not just talk to a robot with pre recorded responses. but because of these other games out here winning the cash race. developers have started to give up on community aspects, and focus on making people pay for things that normally would just be given for free in events. though maybe things will be different now, though i wont know till much farther down the line.

@JellyDonut OGP had way more games in the past, and LaTale was still thriving. (Rumble Fighter, Albatross18, UWO, among other games)

Nah, the decisions that killed the game was about the community and the very lack of events.You didn't have anyone to talk to concerning game decisions and you didn't have anything interesting enough to break that Coli > Rep Farm > Ely Farm > Repeat cycle.

So that's why for now... Wait and see. For a month or two or three, you can judge if Papaya does their thing well... or not.

I completely understand where most people who are unhappy about these rewards are coming from. It's not just about what you left behind, it's also about the time (and money in some cases) you spent especially if you started from the very beginning. Why wouldn't they feel entitled? Let's face it, this game can be like a job. For one to have worked so hard to achieve so many accomplishments only for it to be taken away is saddening for anyone. No one likes taking steps forward only to take a million steps back.

With that being said, I think it's also important for everyone who can relate to those who are angry to approach this new beginning as a whole clean slate. Create new memories and enjoy the excitement of starting a new game. Others are also starting from zero. You're never going to forget what you had at OGP, but still try to appreciate the advantage that you have over everyone else with the rewards you're receiving. The rewards aren't that much to be excited about, but at least they allow you to get on your feet. As someone said earlier, we don't know what is yet to come regarding events, prices for things we want most, and the availability of premium items. So until then, casually play the game, get a feel of how management will run everything and hopefully things will go as well as we want it to.

Yeah that's my only problem with it, I've had my account since the DAY CBT started, I was registered the second it came up. But because I'm not very high level because whatever factors I get shafted. You basically only get rewards for levels so long as your acc was made in 2011 which I'm still glad they're doing things but I do WISH CBT players got their CBT emoticons back atleast.

And are any of those pets given loot pets?

to be honest most people complaining here are people acting like little brats.
youre not entitled to anything at all since papaya and ogp have literally nothing to do with eachother and as it stands the rewards are pretty good for a fresh start yet all you can think about is how its bad once youre higher again? be a little more grateful and work with what you got as they didnt even need to give us ANYTHING.
also there are tons of events and free items to come our way with time so why not powder your little hurting butts and give it a shot anyway? do you people even realise why it took you so long to reach where you are? its because ogp optimized latale not in the least for us and if they did they didnt even care about how we would like it and left us hanging over years in need of resources to beat things more steadily.
we are getting rebalances and a new update from the getgo so it will definetly not be the same as ogp.
papaya seems to care about us players and i have great hopes for latale finally getting more endgamers to have fun with rather than those few people just caring about themselves and min-maxing all day.

well enough ranting from my side im quite happy with the packages (yeah couldve been better but also been worse) as they can be seen as a kickstart and how papaya handles everything so far is great!

That's my only problem with the rewards, I've had my account since the DAY you could register for CBT. I have CBT emotes etc but because I never leveled to 200+ because I didn't like the new stuff at first I get shafted. Like yeah sure whatever but it's still annoying I don't atleast get my CBT emotes back yet. Really just having the acc before 2011+being high level at any time is all that matters and that's upsetting.

Does anyone know if any of those free pets can loot?

There is one thing i take issue with though.

The fact that im losing my cbt emote and so far no packages provide an opportunity to get that back. Like if i had my way, all legacy players should get it. I have a bit of sentimental value towards it honestly.
