Boss weapon drops? game too easy?

I used to play this game a long time ago and when i did everything was much harder, all simple monsters, mini-bosses, main bosses, and everything took much longer to get, but NOW it's all baby steps and everything under level 40 is basically a one shot, when before you'd spend weeks getting to lvl 40, now it's hours.
I'm sure the curve balances out at the higher levels, i hope, but i noticed there are a lot of things missing, like the 1% special weapon drops from bosses.

While i can only assume and accept they have been removed from the game for some reason, i know there were boss weapons such as: Invoke Flame Short Sword, Invoke Flame Great Sword, Invoke Flame Staff, Invoke Flame Arrow (my favorite), these would all be lvl 32 weapons and were the best weapons anyone could get for that level, and at least the next 10 levels after that, and they looked pretty cool for early game weapons.

I stopped playing early on (i only got to lvl 94 as a gunslinger back then, when that was a high level, and 200 was still the max and only a handful of people reached it)
I must after stopped playing before they removed them, i would like to know why if anyone has an answer.

And i also ask everyone who reads this if they should bring those weapons back, including all the other rare weapon drops from bosses, mini-bosses, and even some simple monsters such as: Gumiho Staff, Snow Queen Bow, Golden Tiger Crossbow, PurinPuri Dagger, Spore Dagger, Goblin Punch (knuckles dropped from the Goblin King), Goblin Hammer, Bogle Sword, Blue Wolf Spear, Black Bear Sword, etc etc (colors match the color of the weapon). it's a big list of weapons that they removed from the game but those are the ones i can name off the top of my head.
So what do you think? should they bring them back? or keep them away? and why?
Personally i would love for the newer players to experience some of the old LaTale, and this would be the best way to do it without interfering with the main game.

Sorry for the long read, enjoy your day.

As someone who started playing in 09 (and subsequently dropped off a while after s2, 2013ish) I definitely agree that it's too bad that completely new players can't really experience "original la tale" any more. I would never want to go back to pre-spooky village/coli/toad island, for example, even though it was fun in its own way (grinding overworld mobs like crabs, burger, lilliput navies, etc xD) but I'm not sure adding those regular special weapons back in would have much effect at this point. Players can easily (and are encouraged to) blow through those levels so fast nowadays that those drops would never get any sort of proper use. it takes like 20 mins to go from where Invoke gear used to be useful to where you'd want to start farming Hyu stuff, essentially 1 "complete all" turn in of a lv 30 quest line.

I've not yet experienced end game myself (highest I got was a 182 Pop Star) but I think that targeting that range for similar content would be the way to go (and is kind of already like that with boss runs/drops, from what I understand).

I hear you man, I remember getting to 140, and the job change quests for 3rd and subjobs were long and tedious, but when you finished, you had the sense of acomplishment that went with it. Now it's "go to area, change job" and be done with it. Unfortunately, with the way the game is structured, you won't be spending much time at the levels for those items anymore. Sorry, but the game switched to emphasize midgame (1-200 being early game) and endgame. That's just how it is.
The truth about humanity is that no one can ever truly be alone. Don't be mean to others. You never know who they might be in the future, or how important they might become.

Hi, the reason why these weapons were removed is  never expressed, but there's a lot of reasons from observing the changes in the game over the years why the weapons got taken out.

While these weapons were gorgeous and wonderfully designed, newer content, such as coliseum weapons had come to overshadow them due to accessibility, as well as being usable for a longer period of time.  Coliseum lasted from LV 1-195 back when, and was the prime leveling gear for years. As  Compared to most special weapons only covering a weird level range , Such as canine god only lasting from say, 41- 131 then being obsolete.

They were cool but were hard to justify, so when Infinity update happened, to streamline the experience and make the progress to 1-200 a clear path. The Special weapons were likely removed to prevent newer players from investing into them just to find out they made a mistake and their hard earned money and time was wasted in the long run.

All is not lost, a lot of the higher level S weapons actually re-use some of the models that were used for  Soul urn weapons. So the resources still have a home somewhere.

Man I miss all those old weapons. :(

It was nice having a lot of rare items in the game you could sell too cuz it gave us more ely making options. Whether a lucky drop when questing or you farmed it up if you got a soul or a weapon? $$$

On a semi-related note, does anyone know what happened to Candy Daggers and Chocolate Shields?

Hey dude, I really symapthize with this. I played back in early 09 and had a ton of fun just getting to 80. It was really exciting to do every dungeon and to get the next weapon upgrade or visit a new town, and people who did pheonix were like heroes to me lmaoo. I met a lot of people in that short period because the game was more set up to promote social features and it actually kind of felt like an adventure sometimes.

But like Cyrillic said, a lot of things just turned out differently so there was no real "point" to keep them in. Many players believe that (in a lot of mmos these days) that the "real game" starts at endgame so everything else before that should be pretty much near instant and irrelevant. I don't think it's the wrong way to think personally bc everyone has fun with a game in their own way so there's no "wrong" way to play or w/e but I totally feel you on that i-wish-people-could-experience-what-it-was-like thing because me and others had so much fun with it. i even briefly played with some friends on a tiny S1 hardmode server just to see if I was wearing rose colored lenses but it was actually really fun still lmao...

But more on topic, I think they'll reskin and rerelease a lot of the weapons and I really do hope they do. Even a lot of the old NPC weapons were real cool looking and I still prefer old designs and wear them on tab for fashion reasons haha.

Gotta agree with Cyrilic here, I love alot of the old weapons... the Dark Moon Arjuna in in particular I kept till OGP shut down.

But another game I played (Kinda stopped cause it sucks now.) called PSO2 has alot of unique rare weapon drops that fill similar niche level range that tend to fly by and mobs die rather fast on even ungrinded weapons and moments much like the Old rare weapons in La Tale did. They wind up wasting resources to get to their potential, only to toss aside in probably 3 levels ups (Context: PSO2 has a cap of lv 80) while newer content has easier and stronger to get alternatives of which are far superior.

This is relevant in describing how alot of old weapons in LT started feeling come coli, except PSO2 kept theirs so they wind up not getting used at all because they wind up too weak too use seriously and the only pro to them is "They look cool." so the market winds up filled to the brim with alot of useless "Rare" drops sold for the minimal player market price of 1,050

TL;DR I played a game where alot of old but cool weapons go to waste because their obsolete, for the best to shed them when possible.

It would be nice to have all the old weapons back just for cosmetic purposes. My favourite look was the Pink Abio Ranger outfit with the Dark Moon Arjuna bow or any of the Vintor weapons. Honestly, many of the special weapons looked really cool. It makes me wonder why the game doesnt allow weapon covers like they do for clothing. Oh how I long to use the brownie broom with my brownie outfit without losing out stats from an actual weapon :(
