"Update Game Mode" (Solved)

The only programs I have open are Discord and Prntscrn. I had a friend go on my team viewer and get rid of a majority of the programs that could be detected by nProtect as third party programs and the problem still persisted. I use Norton anti-virus but my friend also turned that completely off and the problem's still occurring.

I deleted the nProtect folder from "C:\Program Files (x86)\La Tale" to try and force an update and nothing happened. 

What's the point of trying to stop botters if you stop people from genuinely playing properly? And if the problem is truly Norton, why should I remove my malware and let my computer be unsafe just because of someone apparently botting and being banned? Super annoyed honestly. Anyway, hope someone can help me because at this point I don't know how to resolve the issue myself anymore than my friends have tried.

    I'm getting this error as well. 

    I'm able to play for about 10 minutes until it shows up and confirming kicks me to the login page. Re-logging in I'm only able to last for about one minute if I'm lucky. And it only just recently started tonight (around 6:30 EST). I didn't get the error at all when playing about 4 hours earlier today.

    I haven't done anything different than what I normally do. I've been playing since the server started and tonight was the first time seeing this error while I was quest grinding in Asgard. I use AVAST Antivirus and I don't think it's that. This error seriously just kinda came out of nowhere for me.

    You should definitely try turning off your anti-virus to confirm that it's not the problem, most anti-viruses are extremely invasive which is why they're able to protect your computer so well. Otherwise, we'll be stuck in the same boat. :(

    Please try deleting GameGuard folder in La Tale folder, which is usually in your Program Files (x86) folder in your hard drive.

    After that, please try starting the game client again.

    If this does not work, there is a possibility that your PC specifications do not meet the game’s system requirements.

    So yeah, was told to do something I've already tried and then told that it's my PC's fault even though I've been playing LaTale for over 3+ years with no issues like this. Haha?

    Same problem here and I have no idea what to do now. I tried almost everything that possible unless there's other possible solution i haven't tried. 

    _ re-installing from downloader
    _ re-downloading from server
    _ re-patching the update by deleting the gameguard folder 
    _ tried mirror downloading by copying whole La tale folder of someone else 
    _ Disabled proxy/firewall/defender plus I don't have other anti-virus program
    _ updated direct x/graphic card driver/java
    _ I also tried changing hosts file by deleting few rows that were not necessary
    _ running game as administrator?!/changing game compability

    I tried all what I've listed above and the problem remains same. The only 2 things in my laptop that don't meet La Tale system requirement are my windows 10 and NVS 3100M graphic card. So what now? Should I reinstall win7 and also change graphic card so my pc specifications meet LT system requirement after 3 years playing LT so fine? Really? XD

    I have the same problem yesterday and today, tells me to "update the security". Not only did I delete the gameguard file, but I uninstalled AND then reinstalled the game and still got the message. 
    I was JUST playing the game FINE before they did the maintenance on Wednesday. Its so annoying

    Okay, I have an update myself now. I hesitate extremely to call the problem fixed....because I seriously just don't know where it came from in the first place? And overall when these things happen  to me my antennae remain raised for quite a while lol

    But what I did this morning was I deleted the entire GameGuard folder from my LaTale folder(Program Files(x86)/La Tale) and then I turned my firewall with Avast off as suggested. Afterwards, with the firewall off, I ran La Tale and let GameGuard do its thing and update/redownload itself.

    When the loading screen for LaTale popped back up I went ahead and turned my firewall back on because I'm sorry, but I shouldn't have to lower my securities so I can play an MMO??

    Anyway, I've been playing for almost an hour and haven't seen the error yet. Yesterday, it took about 10 minutes to show up.

    I have no idea if I'm just getting lucky or not. Or if the problem has actually been fixed. OR if the problem magically fixed itself since I didn't even bother trying to run the game before doing all that.

    But yeah, deleting the folder and letting GameGuard update with my firewall off seems to have done something from my perspective. I'm not sure if it'll work for others though and can't guarantee it. I'll be sure to let ya'll know if the error rears its ugly head after all later on today though. =But I told myself regardless of what happened I'd post an update after about an hour of game time lol

    @Iris: I've tried your method again and still receiving same error. At least as for Giru, they responded to Giru's ticket. I haven't received any response so far and it's becoming extremely annoying. I'm pissed.

    Been having the same issue. Just downloaded the game today and I can't play 'cause of the security mode issue.
    Deleting the folder and reinstalling doesn't work. I'm sad... ;-;

    Sigh....yeah. I have another update and it's not a good one. I just got lucky yesterday is all. The error popped up again for me just a minute or so ago.

    I've been playing this game since the server launched and have never once gotten this error until they did the update the other day. And I've been playing La Tale on and off for at least 3 years so it can't be my computer specs. If anything my computers have gotten better at running La Tale lol

    I wish they'd look into it/at the very least address this.

    EDIT: The deleting of the GameGuard folder and forcing an update seems to fix the problem for me for a while. But it doesn't get rid of it entirely is my current personal diagnosis.

    Yeah problem's still ongoing, deleting the folder after getting rid of all my background tasks and turning off my anti-virus allows me to play for up to 15 mins, afterwards I still get the error. Guess we just have to wait, it's a shame because I was hoping to get to 200 in the next few days before my schedule gets hectic and thanks to this stupid update I'll probably never get to 200 anytime this month. RIP.

    I can't even get 10 minutes without the message coming up. I didn't have this problem before the maintenance, and I have to restart every 5 minutes or so. I'm not up for that.

    I've fixed this issue by disabling some hardware monitoring service for my mouse in the task manager.
    I have a ROCCAT mouse so it comes with some services, so if you have another mouse or hardware that has these (e.g any razer programmes) disable them because I think GameGuard sees them as a threat.

    I'm having this same issue. Not sure how to fix. Makes it rather difficult to play.

    I notice though that if I restart the game immediately after being kicked out, I only last 20 ish seconds, but I'f I restart from launcher it goes for about 10 to 15 minutes.

    Either way its annoying.

    So I managed to solve the issue for myself. The problem was that I was missing certain files in my GameGuard folder that weren't updating when it updated. I'll screenshot the ones that I was missing, and also I can provide you with the files if you need them aswell. I'll have them available through a Discord server where I'll pin them in one of the channels for anyone having the issue to download freely. Hopefully this helps you guys too.

    glad that it worked for you. Unfortunately I already had all those files in my folder and as of today the problem still persists. Not to mention its incredibly difficult to stay logged on for the log in event.

    Do you use a mouse with a monitoring service? (examples being razer and roccat)
    Do you have your anti-virus turned off/uninstalled while you play?
    Have you excluded/allowed LaTale in your firewall?
    Do you have anything that scans or tracks what you do on your computer?

    If the files I were missing are not missing for you then I think the problem is likely on your end because I removed anything that could interfere with GameGuard and still got the error. Double check that you have those exact files. And just in case you might be missing different files, here's the list of all the files I have in my GameGuard: http://prntscr.com/fua055 and http://prntscr.com/fua0k2

    Hope you can figure out what the problem is so a solution can be found/made.

    @Giru90 thanks for the response. I'll try to look with my firewall and security and stuff, but I generally never touch that stuff. I'm not sure why this is only happening post that patch. I also played latale for 3-4 years and never had this problem before. I'm on my laptop so I'm not using a mouse at all. And I triple checked, I do indeed have every single file that you have. Anyone else still in the same boat after checking their gameguard folder?

    @luatnguyen5303 Since you have all the files, the issue is probably in relation to something in the background interfering with your game. Before you try to find the process that it could be if there is one, make sure you allow LaTale's client access to your firewall. Turn off your anti-virus, and see if there's any background processes that you don't need or may be scanning and monitoring stuff in the background. After you've done that, try to play.

    Also for people who continue to have these issues even without any missing files, the issue could also be from having another game that uses nProtect/GameGuard. Why? Because apparently it can install separately sometimes and interfere with eachother, so that could be it too if you play multiple games involved with GameGuard.

    This has sadly happened to me. . .Every few minutes it just tells me to close the game because of some updated security and I realize that the lvl 200 event ends in 15-16 more days

    If I'm unable to reach Lvl 200 because of this small problem. . .I would expect compensation of SOME sort from Papaya
    I mean come on. . .I made it all the way to 195. . .this is a major tease. I do have the system requirements for it

    I'm getting this problem as well. I hope something can be done, whether it'd be a patch or something... I didn't play OGPlanet's LaTale to react level 190+ just to be stopped at 90+ by this problem! ;w;

    @jigglymama1 I would edit it if I could, these forums are busted. lol

    As for the problem, nobody will be compensated. I sent in a ticket to see if they would reimburse me because of this issue which has been going on for over 15 days now and I've basically missed the entire login event plus will not be getting to 200 within the event.

    So, for what its worth, I think you can still get the log in event by just leaving the window open and not closing it immediately when you get the error.

    That being said, the problem disappeared for two days but its now back and more aggressive than ever, I can only log in for a minute or two at a time. What is the deal?

    So I thought you could just leave the game open, but that turns out not to be the case. I just tested it by leaving it open for a few minutes and returning. I found that upon re-log the buffs had not ticked form their starting time, so I guess we're out of luck on the log in event.
