Can't advance ?

I just got to the Floating city and I've tried to go through the portal,but it's telling me "Please return your class advancement equipment before entering the portal" I've removed everything and I still can't use the portal.I don't use my subclass because I prefer still using my dragoon glass instead.Does this mean that I cannot obtain my 4th job ?

    Remove the ring you got from your equipment. (the one that let's you travel to the floating city) 
    Remove the coin you used for the vending machine

    Don't delete them though.
