Is Der Freischütz weak?

Everyone seems to say play Judgement instead. What's the deal? Is DF actually bad/weak or am I missing something? DF seems fine to me but I am new to game.

I mean. A class is only as strong as the time and dedication you put into it. Any class can be the best or the worst.

No is the short answer. Personally I do think Duellist must be one of the worse 3rds to go through 100-170, but their kit really comes together at DF. Every class (except maybe our old friend Perma-Engineer) is more than good enough anyways no matter how underplayed... but that said I see plenty of Freischutz around. It does excel with stronger gears but it's perfectly playable without them still, high consistent damage output and mobility they always have to hand.

I went to Judgement because I had one major problem with most of GS/Duellist skills : VERTICAL RANGE. If there's even a little slope, you can kiss half of your hits goodbye.

That being said, on a flat surface, this class isn't weak at all. Great horizontal range, nice and consistent kb on a large group of enemies, skills kinda weak at first except for the gatling, but it gets better as you level up.

But yeah, definitely won't play GS because of that vertical range (and because gunblades are one of my favorite weapons, but shhh).
Hakusen : Judgment 200 (Still mad about that 198 > 197 rollback though.)
    KisekiKuroi : BA 189
Makimoke : Will be BM 200 / SD 140 at end of event!

If you need help or want to talk, I'll be glad to oblige.

Well i belive that SD is REALY bad now.. i got it nice weapon and all and it still does like 1/6 dps of my bm with the level up blades... i mean other classes feel about same power as blade master but... sd its like... why is it so weak... it's new skill that replaces stun isnt good since when using it some monsters can still hit you mid skill so its not realy a escape skill... you have 30% stun on one skill.. and that is not 100%... oh there is stun on the front only hiting skill that is usless since it takes too long to hit far.. and the close monsters dont get hit by the 3rd hit... its kinda bad for combo use...
Oh the summon blade skill cd is awfull ... i dont see x8 cd increase on it fair... i mean sd only redeaming skill was that... and most of its legendary skills evolve around ap gain and powering that skill up... ya ap is usless on sd now... since you can hardly use the summon skill you will never run out of it... ever...
oh its ulptimate... is kinda meeh... RNG for summon vertical blades skill that sometimes does not work at all... + it feels like its chance is decreased... has it always been 0.02%... i mean i have not seen it activate in 3 full sky runs in a row... i would prefer 20% min damage like pk gets 300%.... since that skill is sooo usless as usless it is to get ap regain now...

DF isnt weak, like BigAsh said, a class is only as good as the time you put into it, and DF just requires a bit more

However, the reason I think you see so many players as Judgement is because the cooldowns of Shooting Forward and Sitting and Shooting were increased.  It use to be that you could cycle between those 2 skills while your other, heavier hitting skills would be on cooldown,  now you cant do that, and I personally cannot find a good skill rotation for the class.  Myself and 3 of my friends all switched from DF to Judge because the cooldown change blows.

I've copied this DF's rotation which consists of rotating between explosive bullet and steel bullet. Seems to be pretty optimat.
