if you wanna press two buttons for the rest of your life and have killer DPS, go with Blade master. If you want some bad ass sword skills or buffs. go with Black Anima
Lantern > Support+DPS (This one is tricky to work with, you have to keep your RP and VP in check. You can continue your buffs if your RP stays.) Both recharge automatically.
Katana > DPS
2 different katana combos - you make them up. Cannot use them consecutively, 1-8 combo and you need to switch. 2 passive dmg boosting buffs.
Few (relevant) skills, long distance. You only need 'Shadow Strike' (infinity skill) and 'Shadow Blade' (mob control). You'll rip through everything until 185-190 and that is when you need to put work into your build (ely skills) and equipment (armour, specials, gems) otherwise your DPS is poor.
Mobile - to an extent, you cannot use any attack while using sprint (this is only useful if escaping, or kiting to throw a blade).
Just try out all the classes and see whether you like them or not, it takes less than 2 hours for the first job change.
Both are autopilot as hell, apparently BA is op early game but falls off late game?
( hearsay from community not my words never touched BA ) i mean it bars down to Ping, from what it seems BA is ping friendly ish? and not as punishing as BM ( thought they did tried to make BM less ping reliant, it sill its ) so, that is a factor. also whichever you like best. if you're able to get to 210+ Bm's legend 2 tree is, R e d i c. ( the cross blade L skill that does multi hits and can be used up to 8 times in a row geegee)
BA is WAY more usable with high latencies than BM. That's why I've made the switch back in OGP. Also, the damage falling off late game is kind of mitigated with Goddess from what I've seen. BA deal incredible damage since the combos were adjusted even more so that higher ping players still could play them, plus a nice damage boost (although making the skills even more unusable). So it's still a strong choice for a character to farm with for beginners.
BM though is reaaaaaally good at endgame. The changes made by the legends just trumps whatever BA has. Although you sacrifice whatever range you have with your basics, your skills make up for it and dang. Those crits and global damage. Even with Devotion on on a BA, you can't reach those unless you're doing a Infinity/Legend Skill.
So what I'd say is, if you have the ping to play both : do a BA at first. Get your ass up to Odin/Dynasty, farm the weaps/gear/gems there. Once you've got enough gear, get your BM up to where your BA was, and even farther, and use BA as an ely farming sub.
If you don't : Get yourself a BA. Forget about BM. BM just isn't fun when you deal only 1 hit per second and you see others do 4 hits in that same amount of time.
Hakusen : Judgment 200 (Still mad about that 198 > 197 rollback though.) KisekiKuroi : BA 189 Makimoke : Will be BM 200 / SD 140 at end of event!
If you need help or want to talk, I'll be glad to oblige.
