Game feels dead...

Bummer, ain't it? :) 
R papaya going to shut dekaron servers down due to low player base? Cuz right now it's on the lowest it's ever been and it's continuing to decline. 
Erm.... Could making it completely free to play save it or is it pass the point of no return? 
Would new classes (eventually) bring back some portion of the previous population and would any of them stay in the long term. 
Seems like the lines over people leaving overwhelm the few that come to the game at any given time. 
A 10 year old game, in times where MMORPG genre is almost dead is Papaya trying to milk a dead cow? 
What motivates you to play knowing that in 2 years max there are going to be 10% of the amount of people that there are now. 
What motivates you to play knowing that the game might shut down in the near future?

    Well there are multiple reasons why!!!

    1) Game is autdated, doesnt even properly scale on  4k settings. That alone i know isn't appealing to play since at 4k all the chat log etc is so small. On top of that rescaling to  1920:1080 really messing up visual look.

    2) Heavy push on cash shop content and pretty much barely anything implemented that can be obtained without buying directly or finishing items from cash shop. Years ago i did suggest add more of old school wings/costumes any other items on different type of dgs. Other older players asked for new accessories  Introduce collector stash, esspecially nowdays with title as reward could work for collectors and people would be forced to do more dgs, also would be more fun for people . Instead focus is on gear race and heavily main focus is around upgrade talis or ingredients that must be purchased because you can't finish items during event without that. 

    I did suggest [GM]Veronica to push dev for update that remove 10 open pets and set to unlimited so people can collect them more and have fun pet collection. Now more than 2 years passed and nothing done.

    3) Lot of items that on Korean server can be farmed have been set as cash shop exclusive. Even wepon skins where changed as wepons that we had to upgrade. Ilipia set cheap colour change from 180 set, while in korea they are costumes.

    Bored to continue list, there lot more to add but here it doesn't matter since nothing will change.

    Too much bs.

    1) Yes we have a lower population, we are not in our gold years, but dekaron still a success. In my years of MMO I have seen many games which didn't  lasted 2 years. We have 10 years "with an outdated game".

    2) MMO are not a dead genre. MMO's are always on top of everything, be it on PC, Consoles and recently on smartphones. It's a gold mine.

    3) This game can shut down like any other MMO, I would say that we have less chance of being shutdown since the "low cost/maintainability" of dekaron a "10 year old game". So far we play today to have fun today, tomorrow is another day. Nothing lasts forever.

    4) We have the problem of heavily pay to win shit around, but everyone here already know that, if you are not confortable with something you can start a good topic like that of new weapons and seed of dreams, which is useful for the comunity, not this crap one.

    The game is ok atm but need alot adjustment due to low population of players. 
    @ShadowClosetAloken plz understand that not many ppl can afford 4k resolution feature lol ppl still runnning on 10+ year old pc/monitor.
    This game is not dead but need to boost fun event such as DkSquare 2x / add more winning point since alot high rank ppl already/ colosium. And helpyron talisman farmable and dshop permanent.

    @SojuPayToLose Try to understand?? Are fn kidding me?? It's about the option for those who has 4k avaible and there are plenty of them. That has nothing to do that people can't afford  4k, those who can't they already got their lower resolution and can enjoy on their lower end settings if they want to.

    The point for any product or service is to adapt to current market and new technologies trend, to extend longevity of product life on the market and attract players who are interested to invest (spend cash). Fail or refuse to do that people move on to simalar better product. Also your example of those 10+  year old pc/screens isn't going bring income for any game since most likely they won't spend any cash for any game at all or at very low amount. There was plenty enough time to do update this game since 2014 when 4k started to come out. Also about damn time Dekaron receives graphics update since pretty much last time it was done was around act 4.5 when Dekaron got it's 32 bit client update with skill animation update. 

    And game is pretty much dead comparing to last days at NEXON since more than few of older players left or took break from the game since there is literally nothing much to do. Maybe that's the plan every 3-4 years pass game rights to other publisher, get as much income as can and when numbers  don't justify the expense or public perception.

    I honestly hope you understand, that there is only a very small number of ppl who see the problems of Dekaron in 4k resolution or not being able to make "item collections". 99% of the ppl I know ingame don't give a flying s**t about these two things, the other 1% is you.

    The game got serious problems which have to be addressed, none the two things mentioned above is currently worth the time of the DEVs.

    To make it clear: I don't insult you or call you stupid for seeing these issues. Opinions differ.


    The biggest problem is the log in/reconnecting issue.
    After that there is the missing content (as you mentioned in your last two sentences) and the not properly working existing content. On top of that the removal of content which was ingame for a few weeks, but that's a smaller issue I guess.
    On the 3rd place there is the pay2win issue, they really need to balance that out. The few tradeable DShop items were a step into the right direction, but the random boxes with a game changing item as the main price were 10 steps back. Mounts and farmable emblem were one step forward each.

    All in all they need to give ppl the feeling it's worth playing the game and not a waste of time and money.

    I just came back to game. I have +9 150x set and TF weap so I decided to farm in 171 dg for better gear and skill books but it was boring. So I tried to find ppl(ppl who need gears) but ended up only 1 player in a week :D He didn't know about the 171 dg at all. There are new players but they just don't know about the game or dungeons.

    Listen, I've had some negative comments towards what I say in the past. Please understand, that I'm not doing this from hatred or any ill intentions, I DO NOT want to attack anyone (including GMs, DEVs and so on). The soul reason I'm putting this out there is because I don't want to see my favorite game die. I've been playing this since I was fucking 10 and Dekaron was the only thing that kept me sane back then. I like that this topic has sparked a discussion. There are issues with the game that have to be faced and we as a community have to stand united and have a position about the game's future. My point is that for the game to survive new people have to be brought in. These people have to have the opportunity to start and eventually prosper without being soully dependent on paying real life currency. Not only that but arenas like DKSQ must be updated so that people would actually gain something from that. The game is an EXTREME ACTION MMMORPG, heavily focused on PVP/PK and back in the glory days of Dekaron, even without any real reason DKSQ used to have a 2nd lobby, simply because too many people wanted experience the unique PVP/PK system of Dekaron. The only way I see this possible is if gear in DKSQ becomes absolutely useless so everyone would have a fighting chance and it would be fun for all the participants, not just the top 50. I'm not saying that this idea is perfect, I'm not saying that I can't have a change of mind if I see something more interesting, I just believe that some major changes gotta be made. In the current condition Dekaron is not fun to play.

    game sucks atm. new weapons and gear sure but they lowered the rates and you have to spend thousands of $ even 10k+ to make full set and weapons. BELT AND ARMLETS. and the belts and armlets are binding so people like me who don't spend money are fucked. Game is over. p2w again. lots of my friends have quit including me. But game will live on as long as those 10 sharks keep spending 10,000$ per month... I've actually met them they sold over 1000 key packs it's insane. game would've died long ago without them.

    @zestia i do agree with you that new weap and gears are lil harder to craft for ppl dont spend dshop for seeds of dream random box. But there alot other way for you to farm such as argates in dg175/skill books/helpyron ingredients etc... to make very good dill from ppl spending in dshop item to sell for dill. Keep in mind that op stuff doesnt hang to you from papaya team plz work hard for it. Buy cheap and resell item could make good dill also if you keepin up with the market price. I bet there are other way to obtain dill without scamming ppl. Pm me if you need to ask something.

    it shouldn't cost $5k to compete in a game. and people who don't pay will always lose. because p2w people have helpyron belts/armlets. you can't make them +10 without dshop and they arent tradeable.

    The game is dead admit it when companies care only about the money and not the player base it will be dead for long time everybody knows that never gonna be the same again im player from the end of 2moons and the start of dekaron i lost everything now i made a new char but i dont like what i see...
    There are more spamming bots than real players and the real players are not making partys anymore they just sell items that nobody buys or if we talk about the buyers they got items from dshop to sell the only thing that is selling is that and at the end u will say that is not pay to win well it is u cant farm nothing anymore you cant make dill one weap +9 is selling for 3BILLS when u cant do even 300m becouse nobody buys +7 items anymore we got new sets and new weaps blah blah blah we got +10s congrats to the peoples who spend money becouse thats the only way to have fun with the game otherwise u s*ck *ss  so one player less as everyday cya :)
