Best stats to focus on For Blade Master?

zalxionzalxion Posts: 6Member Beginner
Heey so I've been struggling to get myself stronger in this server mostly because I don't have as much time to play as I did in OGP. Got a 205 BM and just trying to figure out which stats are more important.
I'm lost between the difference for:

-STR
-ATTK
-DMG
-ATTK %
-STATIC DMG
-CRIT DMG

I'd assume Crit damage is applied at the end so most other things are prioritized? but BM also has high crit rate :(. I'm so lost there are so many stats in this game lol. If anyone could help would very much appreciate!

I'd say.....I mean, u need them all.  Attack, Static damage, and Damage will all come naturally from your gear.

Really, the only things you have power over though, are Damage, Critical Damage, and Strength, as they are the things you can put forth time and enchants towards.  At least at your level.  The other stats are good, but come naturally as you acquire newer gear.

I see. Thank you but I'm also wondering about damage calculations. like which things get applied first there are so many. I don't understand the order D:

Considering how complicated Latale damage is, and all that contributes to it. There's no actual Calculator t so find out what stats would help most.

If that is what you're looking for.

Just worry about enchanting to your corresponding class stats and critical dmg and you'll be just fine

It seams to me static damge does scale and act like damage that passes defense ... realized this testing on the sphinx ><

I would say the only reason there isn't really a calculator we're all a bit lazy to even make one. The equation is a bit complicated though, so that much I would agree with.

In general the equation looked like this last I remembered (for physical classes):

    ((Weapon Attack Power * Skill Damage Modifier * Physical Min/Max) + ((((Strength * (0.3 + (Strength Attack Rating * 0.1))) + Physical Static Damage)  - Physical Static Defense) * Physical Min/Max)) * (1-(.01* Physical Resistance)) - (Defense/10 * (1-(.01* Defense Penetration)) * Physical Critical Damage = Total Damage Dealt.

(For magic classes it's pretty much the same. Just replace 'physical' with 'magical', replace 'defense' with 'resistance', and also replace 'weapon attack power' with 'elemental intensity * elemental min/max')

Given that Strength and Static Damage isn't affected by skill mods your priority would be bringing up Attack and Attack% since it's more valuable into boosting damage.

However, because it's 'easier' to get Strength and Static Damage anyways you'll notice that boosting your damage anyways given there's more abundance of these stats than Attack and Attack% anyways.

Strength Attack Rating ? you mean attack?
  • HigurashiRikaHigurashiRika Posts: 18Member Beginner
'Strength Attack Rating' isn't attack exactly. I mean, it contributes to attack damage sure, but it augments how the Strength stat works. You'll see 'Strength Attack Rating' as an effect when you view Muscle Control in the passive skills. Muscle Control III as a physical based 4th class adds 'Strength Attack Rating by 70.

By default each point in Strength adds about 0.3~0.4-ish into physical attack. 'Strength Attack Rating' +70 is calculated by multiplying that +70 by 0.1 and adding that to the default value. Meaning that instead of adding 0.3~0.4 physical attack per point of Strength, it's actually adding 1.0~1.2-ish physical attack. per Strength point.

    ...
Now if only there was a passive to alter 'Defense Rating' because lord knows we need that more than anything....

Considering that Blade Masters utilize special hard attacks, how would skill damage modifiers factor in?  I was honestly curious about this, because Blade Masters in our server, and some in KLT have been utilizing the Red/Tsar sets; however, if this equation is correct, wouldn't a black set+str/static dmg stacking be more beneficial?

Given the massive abundance of Strength and Static Damage from the Black/Kaiser set, the short answer is yes, it can be more beneficial.

Long answer: I did a bit of math and logged in to read those set's stats. The following shows an assumed default stats based of:
    • Dual Blade Attack Power is 1000
    • Character Strength is 1000
    • Grand Dual Blade Mastery and 2nd Tactical Textbook maxed for Attack +20% for weak/hard attacks.
    • Basic Stat passive maxed for +10% Strength
    • Character Static Damage assumed 1k + 1st Weapon Scroll maxed making it 1840
    • 1st Tactical Textbook making default Critical Damage 80%
    • An assortment of passives to make maximum damage 145%
These are Tsar's set effects for physical attack damage:
    ATT +70ATT +12%Strength +3000Strength% +4Static DMG +1150Min DMG +20Max DMG +80Crit DMG +75...and these are Kaiser's set effects for physical attack damage:

    • Strength +5000
    • Strength% +7
    • Static DMG +9150
    • Static DMG% +15
    • Min DMG + 20
    • Max DMG +70
    • Crit DMG +35
I don't know the attack modifier for Blade Master's SP hard attack, so the calculation assumes it being 300% skill power. The calculation also assumed the attack hits for maximum damage and it was a critical.

    The simulated results are:
Tsar Special Hard Maximum DMG: 97676Kaiser Special Hard Maximum DMG: 155646
The results show Kaiser set doing 59% more damage in

Good lord... the formatting turned into a mess... :/

Uh, short answer in general... Black Set is better...

Actually, even normal and hard attack have "skill damage modifiers", i can imagine that BMs special hard attacks have high modifiers.

The way im understanding it, as a rule of thumb is that Static and STR is relatively stronger on classes that either

A: Have low Attack stat numbers

B: Have skills that have low % Skill Damage Modifiers

and most effectively both. Sefirot is a great example of a class that benefits heavily from STR and static. Their weapons have low base attack and those multi hit skills i imagine have low skill modifiers per hit.

in the case of BM though i'm not too sure, they get a massive amount of base attack % buffs compared to other classes so that could influence how effective it is, Weapon Attack they get on their weapons help with maximizing the value from that.

The special attacks dont have skill % tho they do have min max% boost and attack... since red set gives you more attack range its better... i guess

Wow Thanks for all the comments appreciate all the effort everyone's going to calculate stuff LOL. not just for me but anyone else who reads this thread

Sorry I'm late to the party, but from my own personal experience, Black set is more beneficial from an earlier standpoint, but there reaches a point where Red set overtakes Black for BM, and the major reason for that stems from the amount of Attack% that you receive from your Lab blades.

At +6, you get upwards of 21% attack from your weapon alone, and with high attack value on the weapon itself (7XX min/max attack), the value of Red set skyrockets while also considering the high damage value of special attacks in general and all of the passives we have to increase their damage. So while you can consider from a raw perspective that Black set outdamages Red, you also have to take in perspective on the class itself and its multipliers.

That's the major reason why KLT BMs go Red - with easier access to +6 Lab DBs, there's higher damage potential there.... ASSUMING you're going Nerve Overdrive. If you're going Power, on the other hand... that's a completely different story.
