    There is also insurance and be sure to set it to cover enough of your losses at sea, always handy to have :)

    does anyone have a guide to learning techs?   where to get them  what is needed and such
    also does it include pistol and x-bow techs.


    i have a feeling i am gonna need to grind this too...   lol

    That's why insurance in UWO is practically a useless feature - and therefore, a mostly waste of code by the devs/Koei -, as is wining and dining skill, persuasion skill (just gift equipment items to barmaids a few times so you can report quests through barmaids), and escape skill (one of the trade learner skills / one of the foods dealer skills iirc)

    I will learn sword and pistol techs as well. I'm still trying to organize my priorities. Volcanic Pistols are very deadly when forged to 80 attack, however my main weapon will be a 120 attack Ultimate Paekche King's Sword because of the +2 row bonus and strength in Melee battle.

    so you plan on getting these without spending any of your own real money?  good luck with that. we dont even know what the cash shop  will hold.   $10  is = 900 UWC   not sure what tier your toons are, but for me  at tier4 founders rewards its 6 months  so i think the conversion is 5400 uwc   maybe they sell those in cash shop  who knows

    @clem, hit me up i'll give u some grinding pointers on landbattle.

    @some-of-you,   I don't think u've ever even been on the deck of a ship, based and you fears and arguments.  Most aren't even valid, they don't apply, and just doesnt make sense.

    The old deckbattle system has many ways to not die, but i can't sit here and explain and detail, every single way to avoid being hit/plundered by a pirate.  that would not be beneficial to my char.

    I managed to get 200 billion ducats before the server went down before. I'm fairly sure I can do it again, and much faster even. I have more knowledge now than I did 15 months ago, when I came back to the game with maybe 10 billion in assets.

    i think it will be very important to have all aspects of maritime covered   cannon land and melee. 
    everyone is different in their approach. deck will give some who work at it a fighting chance.  kinda looking forward to that part myself.

    I'm against the returning of deck battle. Not everyone can master the land skills and techniques. They requires eternity to have the 5 sec tech system.

    dub  it will be quite some time before we even have nanban open  just hope you realize this. and many will be focusing on rebuilding .   how can you rebuild that wealth and grind your piracy skills at the same time?  are you retired or unemployed  or single?    joking here really but realistically it will be months before anyone really has the kind of ducats we had before  and the question is   do we really want that kind of broken economy again?   i thought part of the wipe was a reset to the economy

    I don't think it will take that long to unlock EA, but we will see. Also, I can grind rowing, steering, and sail handling while I do nanban. I can also attack people along the way :)

    While I'm doing that, I can keep an eye on merchant chat.. Just in case I spy something worth getting.

    I'm sure that many others will race to unlock EA.. If not, then hopefully I can find enough prey near India or Africa to keep my name orange until I can get filibuster job and cranio espada title.

    no doubt people will race to unlock as many parts of the world as they can as fast as they can, but  the imperial quests for all these  are not gonna be  do it once and you got it open,  they will require many toons from that nation to get it done.   i cant remember how many time we did the IQ for EA to get it opened upon release  it was crazy that night   pirates sinking people all over

    Wasn't it the top pie rats always claiming on OGP that they would simply leave the game and never look back if there was a server wipe?  "I've spent too much time, money, and effort to get to where I am to have to start all over and I will never do that..."

    I'm more excited about piracy coming back than I'm disappointed about the wipe. It sucks to lose 7 years of character growth and 200b in assets, but at least I still have a game to play. I have faith it will be a much better game with the new host than it was with the previous one.

    1) Auto-Bluing must be gone.
    2) Blue, Orange, Red, can all plunder equipment.  Leave white out of it.
