why ban multi's i have most of my stuff stored on multi accounts i personally have 9 OGP accounts just to store ships and gear and ducats cause 1 account didn't have enough space, and i've had those accounts since netmarble, so banning multi's is going to devastate the player base on UWO where many and i do mean many players who have been around since it came out of beta have more than 1 account.
by banning multi's u could end up destroying entire companies and their leaderships in the process and forcing those players u affected to leave UWO and never come back, are u going to reimburse them for all the money they spent on those accounts. the ramifications for that would be massive and far reaching.
support the game :) you have a choice of shared storage 1 and 2 and now strongbox 1 and 2 DONT GIVE A DAMN EXCUSE ON NOT HOW TO SUPPORT THE GAME
you have comp mate as mamacat said this game still have player(oh haha i wanna rofl) so ask your comp mate to lend a hand to fuse ship or what... if they give the same excuse YOU'RE BOTH NUTS
Out of many games UWO2 is one of the few in where multiple accounts may come in handy and it does not hurt others at the same time. I see absolutely no contra-indications of why multiple accounts should be banned. I do find the arguments of FrozenRuby valid "excuses" to have them, most of them at least, it is true that the main reason of multiple accounts is storage, so a good reason since there is a huge amount of object in the game. Beside it mostly are players supporting the game, so players who invest money in the game, who own multiple accounts since they own indeed way more objects that require to be stacked while stocking places stay rather low trough the entire game inspite lvling...
To prevent destruction of certain companies is less a good argument to me. They should indeed run on a real unique player database or else more fusions should be made!
On the other hand, an undetermined strongbox rather than a 30 day strongbox would be a handy solutions as well.
And also this, what is more fun than sailing one beautiful Gran Fluyt at a time? indeed sailing 2 of them in a convoy carrying huge cargo's between Asia and Europe.
storage can be easily handle by shared storage no? and its easy to level up to ranking char bank 50/50 another reason theres a slot of item to store
UWO player have so many EXCUSES!!!!!!!
You wanna play with alts? take one free company member as i stated mamacat or desiree or whatever destroy1 his name said this game is so many fking people... ask them to help when they free and you both go to asia or whatever trading route
THATS A COOPERATION GAME not PLAYING WITH BOTS AKA MULTI GAME
Did you ever think that people cannot always do this? Did you think some people do just not want to do this? I work online and do not know from moment to moment when I will be working. Sometimes I have to log in and out 5+ times while traveling to Asia. But the fact is I want to play when I want to play and not have to keep playing just because I am in a group with somebody. I have spent and will spend more money on the game if we are able to keep our toons as they are now. If this does not happen, I am gone. There is now way I am going through all the grinding again.
Nope, multi-box will stay on forever whether you like or not. I agree with others since I am sber because I need storage for ships ,so I had to create 2 toons to solve that problem for me.
If you don't like multi-box, why not ban yourself instead ? that will solve your problem.
IGN RUSH, I think 3 toons per account per person is enough.
I only play one account, one char.
I think multiple accounts hurt the game, leave the game open to corruption, depending on the person playing the accounts.
Remember the Pirates Charms Boxes. They were compensation for server problems, people with multiple accounts scored those and sold them to others for profit
SO no one can say that multiple account do not hurt this game.
How about trolls and their many accounts.
That really adds to the game play eh.
Look at the problems now with people with multiple accounts, having to organize and move all stuff to the new server. Not just a problem for the player but extra work for the Host too.
IT be interesting to see what people could do with one char.
I do agree that more storage per char would be a plus and some thing that never been addressed.
I just like having my trader/crafting toon behind my adventure/battle toon. My bro did the same thing. We both tried to do the "one toon to rule them all" but found out it really sucked. People in companies don't have time to help you out with anything cause they are grinding and doing there own thing, or people were to low to help. Then OGP made the "two toons per IP" yeah thats fine and all but that would mean my bro and I could no longer play together. Deal breaker. We would probably come back to the game if they did a server wipe and allowed for two toons per COMPUTER or something similar.
nein i also have alts for storage and sorts and very rarely one even follows me around i have it run bordeaux with me but i usualy play on my main toon splink as im terrable at multi tasking nd iv had to make a nother toon on my accounts to start to store my ships as 5 per toon? not enough never enough
still tho 6 slots still aint enough honestly hell my alts invy itself is almost full of my vairous shit iv accumlated over the years now if they where to ever say double the ship holding space then i could see the less of a need for ship storage alts honestly
Banning multis is a good way to completely cripple the shipbuilding industry, make crafting a huge pain, destroy Nanban profits (and I mean for those using the allowed 2 or 3 toons) and get most of the community to quit. Maybe if there was no limit on how many skills a character could have or the current limit was at least more than doubled, and regular inventory and ship inventory was exponentially increased.
Right now, aside from the glaring point of ship inventory, there is just such a vast amount of gear in game and so little storage. You think it would be nice to take away a ton of my prized and hard earned +1 gear and hinder my adventuring, trading, and battle abilities? Not like I will even be able to do all the things I enjoy anymore because I will be playing just one crippled toon or a toon that is so specialized in one profession he can't do the other two. And not to mention all that +1 gear lets me grind my skills more effectively. So you want to add more time grinding to an already relentlessly grindy game. This all sounds great, where do I sign up?
Have you ever tried making a g3 or above mat ship? I'm guessing you haven't. And sure, one of my company mates (or two or three) would just love spending their time standing around passing mat ships back and forth for hours on end. That's great fun. I've actually helped friends who didn't have two PC's with fusion, and also had a friend help me when my ship inventory was jammed up with other project ships. But that is not really how anyone prefers to spend their game time. And what if every ship builder in the game had to rope a few others into holding mat ships every single time they wanted to do fusion? Brilliant! Because keep in mind, in your scenario storage alts are gone so everyone's ship inventory is quite full.
You must really have nothing but time on your hands to do nothing but play UWO in a very slow and ineffective and not fun way. And also really love to inconvenience other people who have to work for a living, have families that require attention, have school work to attend to (or all of the above), and value the game time they can get. I didn't get to play yesterday because I had to work and was also busy with home maintenance. I have more work to do today and need to spend time with my fiance. And what little time I have left over to play my beloved UWO I'm supposed to stand around passing ships back and forth? Or spend my time shouting for days on end to find someone who happens to play on my schedule and with just the right skills and the willingness to sacrifice their own limited time to hold my hand though an entire quest chain because my adventure alt is gone and I can't fit more than 2 or 3 adventure skills on my battle toon?! That's hard enough to do now with people allowed to have dedicated adventure toons! Imagine trying to do that in your world where half those adventure toons are gone, replaced with crippled jack-of-all trade type toons. And if it is a battle toon I choose as my one character, now I can't make any money in game either as my crafter with refined casting, refined handi, maxed storage and cooking, and all the support skills for those crafts is gone. And if I decide to Nanban my profits are cut in half because my adventurer and crafter can't go together.
And how would this be interesting to see what we could accomplish with only one character? I will tell you right now. Way less that we can accomplish now and everything would take way, way longer. Some of us would actually be able to make ducats in game in a fast and efficient way to finance all the vigor food, parts we destroy, LCCTs, MSTs, and MTTs we go through doing battle. And finance getting nicer ships, have a few ducats to throw around out on our adventures, and have a few ducats for some new swanky looking gear to layer on from time to time. Some of us also like to be able to actually do battle AND adventure AND craft and trade. Oh and being able to have a ship or two I'm in the process of building and being able to do fusion at all... that's kind of nice too.
Keep in mind as well I am not rich in game by any stretch of the imagination. In the almost 5 years I have been playing I don't think I've ever had more than 5 billion at once on all my 3 playable toons and few storage alts put together. And that quickly went down the fusion hole or on DSails. My best and most expensive ships are a g3 MRF and a nicely modded LMS. I Nanban occasionally with 2 toons and don't make much. I do my crafting which is a steady flow of ducats but not a windfall. I use LCCT's and vigor food (which I now make myself), MST's, and MTT's like they are toilet paper grinding maritime and running dungeons. Maritime is a money sink and running 90% of the dungeons in game is not profitable at all but i like completing my memorial albums and collecting the rare gear that drops. Keep in mind nobody really cares about that rare gear any more so if I get extra it is not profitable.
This no multi idea would only work for someone content to do nothing but adventure or nothing but craft/trade or have a limited experience of a little bit of both. What fun. Maritimers would be forced to sell cash shop items for the ducats to finance their battling or sacrifice battle skills for crafting and trade skills in which case they would be crippled in battle against anyone who could afford to do nothing but sell cash shop items for financing. That's a broken pay to win system that people not paying to win will not stick around long for.
i quote your last shit statement " This no multi idea would only work for someone content to do anything but adventure or nothing but craft/trade or have a limited experience of a little bit of both"
YES this is the reason for one char only... NOT ALL CHAR IS PERFECT... YOU NEED OTHER TO COMMUNINICATE and erm what destry1 said "OH THIS GAME STILL HAVE LOTS OF PLAYER AROUND AND COMPANY HAVE PEOPLE ACTIVE INSIDE" ask your company mate!!!!!!!!
and i do seems to recall someone said and i believe he is adventurer too which higher level than me, when i ask how much is this equipment? 5m and everything was 5m even +3 excalibur sword is 5m!!!!!!!!!
i was so fking disappointed and give it to JB friend(ask JellyBean about his friend who i give excalibur) because when it stated 5m, i was like oh ok... not worth....why i should keep and sell for 5m when everything is too much lower)
and as stated.. to make one char is not perfected... you either need help FROM PEOPLE called friend or from people FROM COMPANY...as i stated in ogp forum ages ago... my company is fking dead... with sometimes main and alts appear... so when "it"(yes i refer to multi, "it") online, it just sail with your it alts and hmm doing all what they want...
you wanna make ducats? i make ducats as adventurer alone and yes not much profit, i sell sw item at the spot, if i tow back to eu or anywhere far, some rats will show up(yes pirate-hence thats why i buy blue flag a much)
rare gear is as stated RARE at least billions
now with multi look at whats the price again? *rolling eyes*
i continue later since its 524 am as i need to go to work soon(been rofl and lmao while reading all the
i'm with concerned traveler on not banning multi's, as i stated earlier i do have a primary account and a bunch of multis to hold all my ships gear and cash, i don't have alot ducat and i sure don't have alot of real money to put into this game to expand my storage the best the expaned and share and strong box would do would drop my 15 accounts to 11 at best, but i would have to buy that on every account on every toon every month, thats alot of money being spent just to reduce my number of accounts, or i can make more accounts and store them on brand new toons which allows me to reduce how much money i spend on this game, i personally over the almost 7 years have spent over $7000 on this game, i have had several instances where the game prevented me from spending more cause went over the monthly limit. if we ban multi's this game will die, the server would loose over 75% of its players if not more. i don't believe anyone is willing to spend that much money every month just to expand their storage and as for my ships their not worth fusing just to free up space i'm not going to fuse G6's together just to free up space
The problem is not having multiple characters (toons), but playing with all 3 at the same time.
All characters of the same person share their skills in a fleet and they cause a massive inflation in the market, massive backstock in Nanban and also ease a lot leveling crafting skills. It is a too easy mode.
Not to say that each of these players will demand x3 processing from the server, elevating it's specifications and, of course, it's cost.
Let's suppose the game should be played this way: Wouldn't be nice if the Aides could assume such role then?
requires more then 1 PC to play 3 accounts at the same time so its not the multi's fault for inflation its just how the game is too far along and players have huge banks of ducats to spend thats the inflation really too many high lvl players too many astro ships too many hours spent grinding those skills too many astro items that cause the inflation, not multis sure u can bring back more cargo in 1 trip then needing multi trips doesn't change the inflation of good in bazaars or in the market u still make alot of profit
also on the multi front, how do they determind what is a multi and what is a main, they can't just go poking thru player accounts to see what toons are multis and which are mains u can't confirm if a low lvl toon is a multi if the other toon o nthe account is a high lvl so how would they ban multi accounts
"its just how the game is too far along and players have huge banks of ducats to spend thats the inflation"
Now make that problem x3LoL ! Do you see my point now?
But I disagree with:
"not multis sure u can bring back more cargo in 1 trip then needing multi trips doesn't change the inflation of good in bazaars or in the market u still make alot of profit"
It does change the price of players bazaars because people with multis can afford to pay more! And the Nanban trade gets less profitable.
If you look for the causes of inflation you will find out that one of the main reasons is the increase of money available to buy the same amount of goods. But let's not discuss economy.
the nanban goods price hasn't changed in months u make profit either way u sell it to the market urself or u sell it in a bazaar for more its up to the players to decide what a good is worth and thats where were at now if u were to ban multi's u would still have the same problem the market is already there removing extra accounts won't change that one bit it won't stop players from making new alts as long as their primary account exists u will never get rid of multi's
In my opinion, the inflation was caused by bottle items/ships sales. Not trade goods. if we didn't make those trades with 3 toons when do you think we could afford to buy those rare ships. Think about that.
Sure its a loop, I don't play with 3 toons much at all, I play with one with the exception on Nanban trading, which I have not done in months and I am usually fleered with a company mate using 2 toons. Or when I was am grinding Alchemy...which is just as bad having to haul around enough materials to different cities to make 1 item. Or I need my trade toon to buy materials because my adventure toon is strictly Maritime/Adventure.
But the economy is the way it is because it cost a lot of real money to get those ships out of those bottles and the parts are expensive to buy from the shop as well. Not to mention the cost of fusion and how many times you have to hand over mat ships to make more mat ships to get to G5.
I don't know what the answer to that really should be, but it's unfair to say it is because of a 3 toon situation. The abuse is when you have people start using 5 toons with 2 computers and 2 internet providers. But then again, how can we know who is behind those toons. Some were accused of being multis when they really were not. This is very common in all MMO's. At least 3 toon max is a middle ground to get things done for some players.
a point u forgot to mention is u don't have to get to G5 alot of my trading and maritime ships are either g0 or g1 and are just as effective as a g5 so the cost is not there as for buying them out of bottles thats a players choice to spend real money on a game thats free to play, as for 5 toons thats 3 computers 2 multi box and 1 single screen, don't see many of those anymore cause having 2 internet or 3 internet providers is more expensive then its worth. as for removing the multi's if they don't triple player inventory and double ship storage space before cash items are needed the multi issue will still remain
Lol alts are not the reason you're not making friends, just use chat more often and be nice with other players, you'll see in no time you make some friends and not worry so much about alts, still it will be hard to fleet with other players to do stuff in-game, a single Adv quest can take over 3 hours to complete and 60% (don't look at me, I don't know the %) of the players are grown up boys and girls that need to suddenly logoff for any reason, that would ruin the run for the rest no matter if is Adv or Nanban or Battle. UWO map is too big to count with others all the time.
I will stand with the 'do not ban multis' team. I have a spare alt or two, but I'm not even close to being super rich. I'm actually pretty dirt poor compared to most! And that's fine with me; I just play the game to explore, to learn, to have fun, and to craft (newbie shipbuilder at R16+1, yoho!) things for others from time to time. Maybe I'll make some traveling money, maybe not; I'm good either way. I've barely even touched Nanban trading due to the fact that, well, it bores me. One of my guys has access to a single EA town, and the other two... meh, not even a little bit.
I have noticed that most of the time, folks just seem to assign high values to money shop items/ships depending on their rarity, and then trade them as currency, meaning little to no trade good selling is required for the most part. Not to mention in-game money checks of high value were actually dropped in past money shop packages, too. No multis involved there! Just a case of somebody spending real life cash and getting in-game currency back in exchange. Since people who did that were supporting the game, though, I didn't mind at all.
But aleware does raise an interesting point. Is the game supposed to be played with 3 accounts per player at the same time? Let's look at how they play UWO in Japan, via this handy YouTube link!
... two, three, hey, that's three characters on three separate accounts, being played at the same time! Go figure. Bottomline: multis are not a problem, and the people saying that they are happen to be a vocal minority who mainly enjoy antagonizing their fellow players. Comparatively, the most wisest, most successful game players I have seen, use their multis to make the game a more enjoyable place for everyone to play, and are usually the ones who devote their time and energy to writing player help guides, teaching new players in the game, and keeping watch for potential troublemakers, bugs/glitches, or gold scam sellers.
Thanks for your consideration. Looking forward to the future with you, Papaya Play! Me, and my alt characters, that is. :)
I vote that every person is required to play exactly 2 characters at all times, no more, no less (cause that's all I can play at once). Anyone not complying with the 2 toon rule should be subject to 10x disaster frequency, and have to use a hairy palm crest on their sails.

Any free to play game is great... I agree, but the server and staff don't pluck their pay from trees! :D
It's the players that spend money that keeps the game going for all. That's just business.
