and what happen? all become deserts :) go flood there,we dont want what happen to forsaken world, perfect world which isnt perfect at all, jade dynasty occured in UWO
UWO is already flooded with multi's it has been for almost 7 years u can't change it they can't change it there is always going to be a way to make a multi account on UWO even if they track the IP u can easily bypass IP with a VIP
Technically, Japanese server used to be that you have to pay to create account for $16 or so ,but it's now free to create accounts. Yeah, Japanese server relies on subscriptions while doesn't have astro ships and is focus on fairly play.
Chinese and Korean servers allow you to play 5 toons at once.
each server is different if they gave us access to the others i'm sure u would see a massive increase in players on all the servers i would be willing to transfer my main to japan server because it lvls the playing field with no astro shop but thats just an idea something i would do but we only have access to GAMA
The problem of inflation is not in the multies, not in Nanban, the problem in astro-ships, they should not have been in the game at all. But I agree the support of the game by selling astro-shipparts. It is necessary that all ships are built in the docks, and improved already at the discretion of the players, depending on the parts and rank of shipbuilding players.
Log into this game as a newbie, see hundreds of people across various ports, sitting in the bizarre, see a few people in town and think this game has a player base. Go to find a group to help with a quest and nothing but crickets... One soon finds out that all those "hundreds" of people in the towns are nothing but alts/bots for the level 90 players who have better things to do than waste their time grouping with a newbie.
People find this out after a few levels, look around and leave. Player population stagnates to cater to those select few 200 or so that have 3+ accounts and God knows how many cash shop items. Host company stops making money off the game since no new players stick around long enough to get immersed long enough to dedicate their time and money to playing and host company sells off the game.
Any of this sound like dejavous?
If Papaya wants this game to succeed, they'l ban/limit multi accounts, restart the server from scratch, start all characters from scratch, market the game and attract new players.
So what if some of you get upset and leave? This game was already dragged through the mud by two other companies that did nothing but cash in on it by catering to a select few from the "more vocal" player base.
UWO will now exist in the day and age of Youtubers and "let's Play" videos. You don't think a total reboot of the UWO world, marketed as a fresh start, will attract a few dozen videos, with 1,000 or more views each? You don't think some of those thousand of viewers will create accounts of their own and start to log in tot he game?
A new game, with things to explore, people to interact with and something to do, makes for some entertainment viewing. An old, stale game, with unattainable goals and deafeningly silent player base, never makes it to any popular outlets and never gets exposed to new players.
Why is multi even a thing in this game? Why become your own little secluded, self-sufficient island in a multi person game universe?
If you like the game that much, perhaps you should just go play the original Uncharted Waters for the NES and enjoy the single-player game that was intended to be single player, rather than the multiplayer game that was intended to be multiplayer.
I have a 62/62/43 main with around 900m in the bank, most of which will be spent improving and grading my next ship.. I adventure - trade and craft (6x) to support that habit. I have a 2nd account with two mostly stationary low-level alts to help hold the 90+ recipe books I have, the wide variety of components needed to be a crafter in UWO, and the items I pick up salvaging ships until I figure out what to do with them. I spend around 20 bucks per month in the cash shop.
Banning alt toons is pretty much the only thing that would cause me to quit playing, where a server wipe wouldn't even
I like to play all aspects of the game, so I have an alt. My main is adventure mainly, with a bit trade/production. Full adventure alone takes up most of the skill slots beyond the basic skills needed (repair/accounts/etc etc). I end up with no room for battle, which also has a long list of skills. My alt is made for battle+shipbuilding+casting. So with those 2 toons I can do it all.
Beyond that, the space is very limited in this game, since ship parts even take inventory (try sailing LMS fully equipped). There are too many items in this game needed to boost skills, or spare ship parts, or consumable items for dungeons...or just food...etc....there is no way to get enough space with the pay space for your argument to even come close to making sense.
I have 4 accounts total full of characters. Out of those 12 toons, i only play with 2. Why do I need so much space? If you need to ask that question, you've never done SBing. Most of that space is used for hulls/sails/other FS parts. One mule is for +skill items I've found useful in the past, in case a newer player/company member needs (I give away for free). 1 mule is for battle sails/cannons/etc for when I want to go battle...all made by my 2 toons. 1 mule is for aide food/vig food/consumable items.
When I have to sail to make a ship, I make a bunch of the same ship to sell. You can only fit so many on 1 toon (even considering a dock). Those slots are taken buy the current ship+aide ship. My battle toon has a trade ship for when cargo is needed, and a battle ship for the obvious). So I have 1 mule tag along to bring parts, and store ships. The more I can build, the more I can spread the costs over profits, therefore I can sell them cheaper.
The point? There is no reason why I should need to purchase things from other players when I did the skill grinds, or make things on the fly as I want to do them (would waste a lot of playing time). We all should be able to play all 3 classes, or the game gets boring a lot faster.
I could live with a rule of only 2 accounts on at a time. I'd be a pain for transferring from both characters I use at the same time. This would also INCREASE the prices of the ships I build, because I wouldn't be able to build them in such bulk anymore.
Lerxst - I did play Uncharted waters 2 New Horizons up until I tried UWO a couple of years ago. UWO is more fun. And I play to compete with other players, not cooperate. that's my choice, you can have yours. I need 2 toons to have all the skills I need in my fleet so I can take it where I want, when I want. not having that would suck, but I would make do without some skills, not go out soliciting help with every little thing I need done.
lerxst this game doesn't force players to join comps to always be in a fleet of players it allows players to have extra accounts run multiboxing of course is limited but stil u can solo u don't have to be that 1 player army all to urself but its still an option,
This game has already been victimized by abuse far beyond it's original creation, why would people want to start a fresh game, all over again, and keep that same abuse?
What abuse? If your character doesn't have room to craft every recipe in the game... perhaps it was because no single character should be able to craft as many items as you feel entitled to?
If you want an alt just for storage, what's to stop the next guy from wanting 2 alts for trade? If the next guy wants 2 alts for trade, what;s stopping the next guy from wanting 3 alts for piracy? This is the perfect example of a "slippery slope" when you feel your one style of gameplay won't hurt anyone, but it simply leads to more and more people abusing it and destroying the entire game for everyone else involved in not-your-style of game play.
Level the field and just play one character per player. Let the gripers leave, to satisfy a plethora of new players who will feel equal and invest into the game. I don't see a problem here.
There is not going to be a plethora of new players playing the game unless Koei steps in and unnerfs some stuff and makes some changes that have been suggested ad nauseum. The economy was hurt by more than a few multis. Multis will not be banned as Koei has programmed the game to allow a certain amount of it. Throwing a fit about it is silly. It is as silly as calling for a wipe/reset of the game. Koei is not going to accelerate the next updates and allow a reset. Cannot play those updates with a reset. Bringing back Atlantis cannot be done with a reset. Killing off multis or resetting the game will not produce a plethora of new players.
