    I think what i find worry is im not confident in my investment in the game now. 
    I can't say im certain that i expect this game to be around for much longer.

    Will the new recruits stick around? most i feel in this game are of the older generation, a generation that had patience and appreciated the finer details of the game. 

    If they now feel betrayed and leave are they replaceable? 

    I believe not! and without them can the game survive? Again i believe not!

    Reset after nearly 6 years playing, hey as long as they don't reintroduce bottle ships or ways to BUY power we can say it was worth it. At least then Shipbuilders can truly have a function in the game other than just Modding bottle ships. If they are TRULY looking at fixing the economy and balancing play the bottle ships and pay to win aspects should be gone from the game.

    I spent quite a bit of money on this game . I had CHC , 2 X mmg, festive indiaman , mod ironsides. astro sails, astro coats , ssb book . . yes i could advance a lot more than the average noob, but i dont know if i realy want to . some players who started after a year or so are in for a shock at what you can buy , what you can sail , and what you can equip your ship with. maybe i will give it a go with 1 char , and make some money quickly so i can do adventure. but it will be SLOW with no astro ships, no sb to build a ship , and no ships, recipie books, trade goods and items unlocked

    I agree with Batt .. Papaya is pretty much saying "F-U" all your hard work , all the money you spent , all the constant level grinding , all the years you put into this game , all are for nothing .. ILL log in .. if I have to start again at Noob level 1 .. Im totally out .. IM not gonna go around in a school ship again .. not after years of working on my skills .. nope .. aint happenin .. If I lost everything , they lost me .. cya gang .

    Papaya, I am not trying to make trouble, but please listen to the community, I think most would wait for your company to do this right, but not a server wipe,that will leave a bad taste in every one mouth. Even if we do not play.

    As a R20 Ship builder, the #1 thing i spent real money on was storm sails and SSIP's.
    You removed the way I actually spent money in the previous game.
    What the hell use are ship parts when nobody can use them?
    500 hours of nothing but sitting at port, ship building  to get to R15 Ship builder and another 300 to get the fame to defect to 6 nations.   
    BTW i have a steam account that links with UWO and was unable to
    "upgrade/link" to create a legacy account. Even if you wanted to give me a 1000% ship builder xp bonus, I can't apparently get it because I did not have a OGP account.

    Whats more frustrating is we was all nanbanning and grinding even in the final week because no one could be arsed to tell us what the real plan was.

    All that spend astro's now, remove stuff from captains chest...all BS.

    NO WAY DID NEITHER PAPAYA OR OGP NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.

    WOW, you all have a right to be upset, but to be honest we knew this would be a likely event taking place. The hostility should be taken elsewhere. I get the loss of money but lesson learned don't spend as much as you cant afford to lose in the long run, its a game spend what you can afford to never see again. That should be a policy for all games actually. Thing is, we knew this could happen. Ranting and getting all upset about it on the forum will get you nowhere. You cannot judge their package as you have no clue what it is. And you cannot say you won't play if x,y, and z are not met. *this is kind of extortion* but you know what you can do. Look at it in a positive way. If you don't want to play move on to something else and when you decide you miss uwo again come back without your gift pack or whatever. It is not something I will stress about. I only hope that power is not sold again and bottle ships and things are not sold again. To be honest I surely hope we can all go in on level playing field. Look at it like this: we all are put to the test on our skills not on how deep our pockets are. That is even play to be honest.

    I don't understand why people are upset? KOEI decided to fix the issues in our game something that people have been complaining about for years and you are still not satisfied....Most of you who say "i'm done if it's true" BS You wont be done and the game will live on. People from this game always cry and whine when they don't get their way. Always have, always will. If they did nothing people would complain that nothing is getting fixed. If they fix something people complain that they ruined the game and now it's going to die. They (KOEI) decided in order to fix all the issues that plagued our server could only be done with a reset. I support the decision and I will support the game.

    If i do play ( maybe for first few weeks to see what numbers are playing ) . I WILL NOT SPEND A PENNY. for 7 years you took our money , and threw it away with no recompence. you buffs will prob be shite 10% for 1 hour buffs , thats not worth the hours playing , the hours and hours sitting outside calicut , grinding sb. what is to stop them from doing the same thing , everytime they want to rebalance the game . I dont expect to see many vets playing, and what is the point of continuing the expansion when the players will be starting from lvl1 with just the 1 port permit . its not like you can do a nanban run the first day .         YOU KILLED THE GAME, YOU KILLED THE GOOSE THAT LAYS THE GOLDEN EGG.
     PLAYERS WHO HAVE BEEN STUNG< WILL NOT BE PLAYING , AND THOSE FEW THAT DO WILL NOT BE BUYING.       the new players do not stay long. they will go and you will exhaust the supply of noobs who leave because they cannot get to end game in a month . you cannot get to end game in 7 years. & WASTED YEARS

    This is bullshit Papaya Play just doesn't care about all the players who put there effort into this I'll try to walk a fine line so I don't get banned but I'm a mid level player all my levels were about 45 there gonna loose a ton of money 80% of the player base is extremely pissed. There forum is also poorly done too no annoncements in forum no response from mods as to why this is happening. I hope the world sees what Papaya is doing and there reputation is tarnished forever. The only good thing about this is that I can finally catch up to the top teer players. I do feel good item plunder is back though. But its gonna take me another 4 years just to get where I had been now. Oh god why did OGP planet go under with no recourse to link the accounts better. I thought, are they for real a sever wipe how is that good. But I guess thats it I'll stay and I encourage everybody to stay. We'll get threw it Maybe we should encourage support groups in the taverns to discuss are severe dissapointment.

    @crazyhunter2003 I recall back on OGP the GM's stating that "ALL decisions pertaining to game changes have to be approved by KOEI" now I believe KOEI will still keep that right even with a new host. As a matter of fact I don't know of any MMO that the dev's don't have the final say on what gets to take place in their game

    @noobness .....please expand on this fix you seem to know about but others don't!?


    If you are referring to the pirate and DB, well that could of been done with an update. no need to wipe.

    Or if you are one of those that thinks this wipe evens things up....Well the have already announced tiered bonus items and boosts to loyal players.. 
    In other words the vets get more items and bonuses for free on first log in.


    So please where oh where is this fix @noobness ???

    To the Haters who said questioning a server wipe was me causing "needless" worry and drama… 

    First and foremost let me give a HUGE F U to the haters who dragged my name in the mud for telling the TRUTH that we CANNOT assume we won't get a wipe until They 100% confirm it! Then bashed me for saying we should voice our opinion on the issue and try to sway their decision.. to you passive aggressive  juice boxes that's why you're blocked you run from problems instead of facing them.  I WAS RIGHT TO QUESTION THEM SO F U! 


    To Papaya… 

    Now onto the wipe… I'm greatly disappointed you didn't opt for 2 servers one fresh and 1 legacy and one fresh start server while I feel that would have been the ideal solution I don't know why you decided to go the way you did.  It may have been a technical issue it may have been Koei it may have been lack of developers or even contractual obligations etc. I don't know so I can't say for sure or blame you… all I can say is good luck and try not to make the same mistakes the other Providers did since you're starting fresh it will bring many maritiners back so that is a huge plus. 


     What I'll do about the Wipe...

    Papaya essentially set the game to where it's supposed to be regarding piracy and deck I respect that but just wish it wasn't at the expense of our progress but it is what it is. All I can say is me and my company The Elite Few WILL return to the game because we love ❤ it and support the server and hope papaya experiences great success with the server. 

    To the UWO Community…

    To everyone else I know this is rough but remember it MAY have not been Papaya's fault it could have been a contractual thing or maybe OGP wanted to charge and obscene amount for passing the legacy server data we don't know.  So I say give them a chance we all on a level playing field and we still retain our knowledge of the game we can get by guys.

    I wonder if those if wanted a server wipe realize they may have just killed the game.

    Wiping data is never good, to fix problems that some do not have.

    I really hope this is a miscommunication of some sort. A total wipe of the last four years' worth of our investments (and longer for everybody else) cannot possibly be compensated for by a handful of "founder" items, no matter what they may be. Rare ships, equipment, skills we worked to refine and sharpen, techs, finesse, pets.... taking away everything we put our blood, sweat, and tears into is a horrible business step to take.

    There is still time before the relaunch, Papaya/Vertigo. Please reconsider this; a full scale reset of the world would be a spit in the face of everyone who invested their time and money to keep it going all these years, and many of the wisest experts who supported new players with their insights and contributions will simply pack up and leave. UWO won't last another four years in that kind of state, let alone seven.

     HelloAll IDK what they are "fixing" but obviously a patch was not enough to "fix" it. Why not call up the dev's and ask them yourself? Maybe they are taking items out, adding in items we didn't get before. Maybe they are making major changes to the code that only could be done with a server wipe? Ever think that a major change in code could corrupt the game entirely? Or maybe they already tried to do some fixes but found out a wipe was needed to complete it. Or also maybe OGP deleted all your character info and they won't say?? They sent the account info but deleted the character info??? Lot's of "maybe's" and I doubt we will ever know. But all I know is this is going to be like a brand new game just getting launched. I am sorry most of you are so fragile that a missing fictional character in a game upsets you. What if the game closed instead of being transfered? No more game....same outcome. Your money is still gone but at least this way you get to play the game still. I don't see it as a big deal. I see it as an opportunity. I spent money also and now it's gone and I will spend money here because I love this game. So keep crying and throwing your tantrums. The game will still launch again but with a whole new way to play!!! I think it's exciting!

    And you seem to think that this reset changes things for the better. but where is the evidence of that?

    Also my time and money wasn't fictional. so i have every right not to be happy.
