I remember a KOEI comment that refined Ship Building would be too punishing to players. LOL.
Now we have to "refine SB" without the added SP%bonus, and with no additional effect. I can't imagine rowing... but then again, rowing is a non-essential skill anyway.
It must be fun for some players to sit back and laugh at those who actually spent real money to support OGP in order to invest 100m in ports like Boston. Any player who cannot empathise with these players is not a real player, just an opportunist who found UWO one day.
"This almost feels like we have been stolen from. OGP have sold us a product (Astro's) to the last moment of the game closing and now everything we paid for has been deleted."
We kind of were. Banks are not returning the astro purchases because we cannot prove fraud if you do get a refund great! but I know I won't be getting one. I kind of have to point out though.. this was kind of a last minute thing and OGP knew they were putting astro sales up there when they were planning to do this. The thief is OGP and expecting papaya to pay back what OGP took is kind of like asking your new boss to compensate you for your old boss letting you go. OGP pacified us on the forums when we were concerned about being the only game running, they continued to pacify us on concerns that the game was in dire straights, they knew they were in trouble and denied it all. I surely hope with Papaya we have better luck but I am with many of you, I will rebuild, I will not be purchasing any cash shop items my investment of time is going to have to suffice.
What Data Will Be Transferred To Papaya Play Through The Transfer Service?
Unfortunately, your character progress and inventory will not be moved as part of the Transfer Service. The Transfer Service will designate your account as a ‘Founder’ Uncharted Waters account, which will entitle you to Founders Rewards and other special perks following the relaunch on Papaya Play.
Even if papaya can't get sales data from OGPlanet, we can provide them with bank statements showing what we've spent over the years. I'm more concerned about my investment in money than time. Leveling and grinding (maritime at least) isn't so bad if you've a decent ship and some time. I know they're not obligated to do anything in this regard, but it would be a good act of faith to give us at least some kind of incentive based not only on time, but also money spent.
I'd assume they will also throw UWO into their store/shop system and give away shop currency. I guess we will find out for sure what other compensation will be when the day comes that we can log onto the game.
I never wanted a restart. But if this is inevitable and affects everyone, then everyone should be on equal terms. Yes, we all lost a lot, I had levels on OGP 75/85/63, 15b money and about 100b things and ships. It cost me 7 years of play, about 10,000 dollars, many spent nights at the computer developing skills. There are many things that I would not want to lose, for example, the 3 rd place in the Poker tournament, which ended for me at 6 in the morning, sinking GM from one shot, which, besides me, had not been possible to anyone before. I, too, feel sorry to lose all this. But this is the beginning with a clean slate and everyone should start the same way.
I lost a lot too, I spent a lot of money (for me) in the cash shop and I had some nice ships and items. I lost an AFCV, MBTC, Festive Cargo Clipper, 2 fully built Baltic Galleons, a Custom Cargo Clipper and over 15bil in ducats, shipbuilding book, expanded dock space, expanded captains bag, etc. But rather than complain I'm going to make the best of it. I'm not laughing at anyone, but I also wish people would get on board with the game as it's going to be, not what we wish it was. I repeat - would it be better if the game just shut down entirely?
They can revamp whatever they want regard to the game content/rules & regulation/policy but keeping the game progress as it is or fine tuning them if needed.
Entire wipe of the game progress would just eliminate an established community.
@GreetjeRijk read my posts fine tuning and content/rules and regluations/policy their adding and remove alot of stuff adjust current content this would affect may players inventories ships equipment progress discoveries we dont know the extent of the changes they are implementing if it was minor changes or just an expansion they wouldn't need to wipe the server but maybe its an indication that its a huge overhaul of the game and a wipe i necessary
And yet they are making this game more towards pirates then any others that play this game and don't care about the non pirates and I really don't care who likes what I have to say. The way this game is gonna turn out everyone must just be pirates and not anything else. If you look at their games they have it is all about PVP
this game is pvp well to be more precise its PVPVE or player vs player vs enviroment. this game always had a pirate type of pvp combat they made small changes over many patches to get to where OGP had it at year 7, its not likely to be geared just towards pirates but to all
no u may not but what about the pirates what about the bounty hunters do u speak for anyone other then yourself, this game is a pvpve game type, with player on player combat mixed in with the player vs environment aka player vs npc. for combat or sailing the open seas with high caution so ur not being dragged into combat now its still classed as a pve for that but there is still that element of pvp
This is my favorite game. And I was never worried about either pirate attacks or robbery. And I do not care what the administrators will do, I will still play. The game is multi-faceted, and many of its sides have been pleasing to me. We will see what they will propose on October 18. Seven years of adjustment, and now adjust. I continue to play with new realities. Maybe we all get together to build a game from the beginning, the other one that we represent in our fantasies
Which means the ones who are not pirates have to deal with pirates attacking us knowing there is no way anyone can't beat them but HEY it is all fair since the pirates like being tough to players lower in levels then them
lvls don't mean squat for how piracy really hits hard its time spent grinding their skills i was a lvl 54 martimer i've sunk BH's over 10 battle lvls higher then me or in better ships its not about lvl or skills its about luck really if ur going to survive a battle with a pirate or BH or a merchant it all depends on many variables
but now everyone that brings over their ogp ID's they all get the same package so there is no uneven playing field during the transfer as no new ogp accounts are being made

They don’t know what items are rare and hard to come buy either.
Someone may have 4 garbage ships and and inventory of 50 useless items.
But will they be rewarded the same as someone with 4 high end grade 6 nc ships and 50 items of very high value?
Papaya will just see it all as being the same value I imagine.
I dont know if i'll start again the 18th...
