Game wipe isn't acceptable

Greetings Papayaplay and KOEI.

On behalf of Uncharted Waters Online players, I strongly disagree with wiping UWO Server to start from the beginning in order to resolve game system and economy.

You can't easily waste players' long spent years building their characters and their various achievements in the game, including rare discoveries, most valuable ships and skills that could take months to raise like Shipbuilding.

This decision will simply make you lose so many players, those who spent years to play and experience the different and various specifications and features of this game.

This game was and will remain great as long as you respectfully keep our data save.

So please, reconsider server wiping.

There are many ways to fix game systems and economics of it rather than wiping and you can ask experts either the players or the IT.

We willingly looking forward to agreeing with our will.

I am absolutely devastated. I've had a lot of loss in my life and this is almost as bad as a minor influence dying. I can't express how I actually feel about this, but it's the highest level of not ideal possible.

IF, and I mean IF, I play anymore after you wipe the server Papaya, understand please that I will spend ZERO real money on this game. By wiping it you have lost my trust. I know I am not alone. Please listen to us or prepare to launch a dead game. You will NOT make any more money by starting it over.

Not counting on this, but perhaps papaya can see how much people have spent in the astro shop in the past, and give them some credits proportionate to that amount to smooth things over a little.

They killed the game , i agree with the OP. those that do return will not be spending money just to be burned again , new players only last a month, very few stay. this is the only game i have come across that has such a high number of mature adults palying. and why is that . Patients. most younger players what everything now , older players look for long term goals and know its a long road

I agree. A total wipe will only hurt the game and the companies running/owning it, not help it. The trick to MMOs is to keep your players coming back for more; if you take away the things that kept them coming back in the first place, what incentive is there for them to keep returning, to keep buying to support the game, to keep on playing even for free? No amount of money shop compensation will make up for the skills I leveled up, the discoveries I worked hard to find, the cash/event items I collected, or the friendships I made over time.

I would encourage you to contact Vertigo directly ( https://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/306350/UNCHARTED_WATERS_ONLINE_SETTING_SAIL_FOR_PAPAYA_PLAY.php ) as well, possibly even KOEI-Tecmo, and not just comment in the forums or Facebook only. Be polite but firm when you do so. We lose nothing by letting them know how bad this idea is, I think.

Well said Wendy, I don't plan to spend on cash shop for a while since I lost shitload of ships and rare items and got work out on my new toons for nothing after I transferred my astro ships and one time/non-buyable items to main toons.

I've told you what i think, what I thought. By doing this you destroyed ANY chance of me spending money with you. How, exactly, do I know that what I gain over the next 7 years wouldn't go the way of what I have accomplished to this point?

The game economy and veteran / newbie balance will return to what it was in a year. That's the nature of the beast. Money and experience is VERY simple to grind (for those who grind). The problem is, and always was, the difference in playing styles between the "casual" gamer and the "hardcore" gamer. One grinds and thereby gets resources and with those resources is able to buy, sell, or hold as he sees fit to influence the economy (which, by means of his resources, he doesn't even have to participate in). The other finds little enjoyment in grinding and therefore has a vastly more "fun" and more "varied" game experience, but doesn't accumulate the resources... leaving him largely at the mercy of the now "veteran" gamers who did do the grind (often till there fingers were sore .)

So you see... in 7 years you will need another server wipe. And 7 years after that? Yeah. I was a 66/76/75. It took 7 years to get there... no I didn't grind much, thats work AND I ALREADY HAVE A JOB. A real one. So I was just barely accumulating the good stuff. The stuff it takes to win. Thanks. Huh turns out...... all those complaints about it being pay to win, TOTALLY CORRECT

I don't think papaya play is at fault for wiping the server to be honest..... https://support.papayaplay.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002493853-Why-should-I-transfer-my-OGPlanet-ID- .... Due to OGPlanet's discontinuation of service on September 29th, all Uncharted Waters data on their servers been lost. All previous player invested time and contributions to Uncharted Waters are very important to our team, and in order to receive your Founders Rewards, you must transfer your ID to Papaya Play through the provided transfer service.

Indeed, they did say ,but latter did make clear that they intend to reset because of economy woes just like La Tale. That's why they made excuse in order to get move on without issues.

Due to the technical nature of the relaunch, however, all existing player progress and items from OGP will unfortunately be lost, and the game world/economy will undergo a complete reset.

Furthermore, if they indeed lost OGP data, we won't able to transfer our accounts to Papaya.

I've heard people were complaining about the economy even in the beta days, when Indian/Caribbean trade goods were being bazaar'd like Nanban goods. I don't see that changing in the "reset" server either. It happened once, it could happen again.

As well, don't forget that a lot of us preserved our accomplishments/levels/albums/possessions in screenshots and videos, the latter of which aren't as easy to fake as screenshots. If they'd given us the option to at least import those things we could prove we had by recreating them, it might've been received a little better. Even that option isn't being offered right now, though.

all they had to do is remove ducats in transfer, allow one account only, removed all items they believed had balance issues... and the economy would reset. Honestly, they have an idyllic, romantic image that resetting the server will bring the rains again. They are wrong.

Indeed, it's just like OGP because they blamed on Koei for their own mishaps. Papaya made clear that they intended to reset it because they want to make gameplay more balance which isn't gonna happen.

Unfortunately, your character progress and inventory will not be moved as part of the Transfer Service.

This sounds like La Tale, doesn't it ?.

At least, they will upgrade UWO to Age of Reasons.

I don't mind if the founder rewards package include of these following items:

G7 LLM/RLS/CHC God Mode

200B worth of Cheques

Full Aide & Captain Return Package (Max Levels and Refined Skill rank)

Full Quarter refurbish contract (R5 quarter with all +4 furnitures, +5 skill book shelf)

But with all those stated above, papaya play, you might as well buy over the data base instead of making excuses with technical issues.
