Who's to say removing BRs isn't part of the "rebalancing"?

I'd reccommend sitting down and thinking long and hard about your skills. 50 basic +1 if we get that one from alchemy, 5 in bookshelf, and 5 in skillnotes if u can afford them.  Not sure if they said anything about multi's but if not, better think long and hard about ur skilllist.

Me, I have to go Handi to start making RIBs for the comp and Cooking to make us all some food.
Also have to start making 100 def boots asp. I see Bord Dungeon as the easy income at start so want some good gear to exploit it. It wont be me but I expect the first Billionaires to be online within the first month of play. So much for a wipe economy fix.....

I don't know whether all books will be available in the item shops, nor whether books will immediately be available through investment, but here's a possible solution to the Vigor Food problem:

To make Seafood Pizza, you need Cooking Rank 10, the 'E. Mediterranean Cuisine Collection' recipe book, the 'Simple Recipes' recipe book, maybe the 'Livestock Secrets - Cattle' recipe book (and maybe the 'Livestock Secrets - Sheep' recipe book). You also need money to invest, and Fame to get Port Permits.

    Begin as a Merchant.

Do the 'First Job for the Guild' quest at the Merchant Guild.

Then get the Animal Trader job. Buy at least these skills: Animal Trading, Cooking, Foodstuff Trading, Storage, and Accounts. (Caution is optional, but I suggest getting it).

If that quest is not available, you can buy the skills the old fashioned way.

At Trade level 3, you can buy Cooking from the Merchant Guild in Seville, Amsterdam or Venice, or from the Duchess of Traetto in Genoa.
At Trade level 3 and Cooking Rank 1, you can buy Foodstuff Trading from President Baldi in Lisbon.
At Trade level 7 and Foodstuff Trading Rank 3, you can buy Livestock Trading from Duke Conde in Marseilles.
At Trade level 1 and Cooking Rank 1, you can buy Storage from the Merchant Guild in Amsterdam, Marseilles, Seville and Athens.
At Trade level 3, you can buy Caution from the Merchant Guild in Sevilla, Genoa, London and Venice.
You need to be in a Job that Favours Accounts to be able to buy Accounts.

    If Dutch or English:
Buy 'Livestock Secrets - Sheep' in Amsterdam, 'Simple Recipes' in Bordeaux and 'Livestock Secrets - Cattle' in Nantes.

    If Portuguese or Spanish:
Buy 'Livestock Secrets - Pigs' in Porto and 'Simple Recipes' in Palma. (Buy 'Livestock Secrets - Cattle' when you get the port permit.)

    If French:
Buy 'Livestock Secrets - Poultry' in Calvi (close to Marseille) and buy 'Simple Recipes' in Palma.

    If Venetian:
Buy 'Livestock Secrets - Poultry' in Ragusa (a Venetian city). (Buy 'Simple Recipes' in Palma when you get the port permit.)

One of the Practice Drills in the Advanced Merchant school requires Pigs, and Faro is the only city that sells Pigs, so I assume that cities would sell Livestock even if cities have no development.

I assume that Porto (and possibly Seville), Valencia, Antwerp, Syracuse, Tunis, Ragusa and Famagusta would sell Wheat even if there's no development.

I assume that Lisbon, Helder, Zadar and Ancona would sell Chicken and that Gijon and Montpellier would sell Duck.

I assume that Helder and Sassari would sell Sheep, that Calais and Malaga would sell Cattle.

And I assume that the following cities (among many) would sell Fish: Dover, Helder, Porto, Ceuta, Sassari, Tunis, Trieste.

The following cities sell Cheese: Antwerp, Porto, Calvi and Ragusa.  If you can't buy Cheese, you can make Cheese.

The following cities sell Salt: Bremen, Helder, Porto, Barcelona, Marseilles, Syracuse.

Salt is a Seasoning and you can buy Seasonings Trading at Duke Conde in Marseilles if you have Trade level 5 and Cooking Rank 2.

If you can't buy Salt in a city, you may be able to get it through a Private Farm. (Ascention Island gives Salt when you develop the Fishing slots.)

You can develop Ranch slots to get Pigs, Chickens, and other animals when using a Private Farm.

    Four Farms:

Ascention Island's coordinates: 16182, 5044  (south of Abidjan in near the bottom edge of Gold Coast waters; use the Surveying Skill, or sail along the West African coast until you get to Abidjan, then sail directly South until you meet an island in the Gold Coast sea area).

Saint Lucia's coordinates: 13721, 4240  (in a semi-circle of islands south of San Juan, which is near Santo Domingo, in the Caribbean)

Diego Garcia's coordinates: 3315, 5004  (at the bottom of a group of semi-circle islands in the Central Indian Ocean, south of Calicut)

Savaii's coordinates: 8520, 5250  (somewhere in the Pacific ocean, in the Samoa Basin, between Hiva Oa and Samarai)

    Game Plan:
If you're working with Pigs or Sheep, use 'Simple Recipes' to turn Wheat into Flour until you reach Cooking Rank 3, and then work with Pigs or Sheep until you're Cooking Rank 5.

If you're working with Duck or Chicken, use the 'Livestock Secrets - Poultry' recipe book until you reach Cooking Rank 3.

Each time you do production, you get 1 Trade experience per production, so cooking will help increase your Trade level.

Chickens cost about 44 ducats. Poultry can sell for 240+ ducats. You can make 1 Poultry out of 1 Chicken (or 2 Poultry if you have a Great Success).

Ducks cost about 55 ducats. Duck Meat can sell for 260 ducats. You can make 1 Duck Meat out of 1 Duck (or 2 Duck Meat if you have a Great Success).

Sheep costs about 120 ducats. Sausage (in my experience) can sell for 440~560 ducats (if you sell it at a good price). You can make 1 (or 2, if you have a Great Success) Lamb out of 1 Sheep and you can make 1 or 2 Sausage out of 1 Lamb.

    Bordeaux sells Lamb.

Pigs cost 56~79 ducats. Sausage (in my experience) can sell for 440~560 ducats (if you sell it at a good price). Ham sells for about the same price, or a little bit less, depending on where you sell it and the market rates. You can make 1 or 2 Pork out of 1 Pig, and 1 or 2 Ham or Sausage out of 1 Pork.

    Porto and Antwerp sell Pork.

When I was playing under OGPlanet, four Oxford college production skills, together, boosted my basic production from 100% to 185%.

At Livestock Trading Rank 6 (and Faro's mayor allowing more goods to be sold at the market), I could buy 60~85 Pigs at a time.  Cooking those pigs into Pork, and then Sausage, in batches of 100 at a time (when possible) and selling them to the Faro Market got me 240k ducats in 6 minutes.

Without the college skills, and only at Livestock Trading Rank 3, but being able to process in batches of 100 at a time, I could probably make 80k~85k ducats in about 6 minutes.  I recommend 210+ cargo space to do that cooking in only 6 minutes (instead of spreading it across two cooking sessions because of cargo space limitations).

The higher your Livestock Trading rank is, and the more cargo space you have, the more you can process at once and make more money in almost the same amount of time.

You can also make Cheese at Cooking Rank 2.  Milk Sheep or Cattle (you can get 1~2 milk from 1 Sheep and 1~3 milk from 1 Cattle).  1 Salt + 1 Milk = 2~4 Cheese, and Cheese can sell for 440 ducats. That's a nice way to make money, if you can get Salt.

When you have money, you can Invest money in cities to get Fame. You need Fame to be able to get more Port Permits.

Investing in cities ranks the Sociability Skills. The Sociability Skill makes it easier to talk to higher-ranking people without needing as much Formality. Sociability also decreases the failure rate when Haggling at the Market. You need the Accounts skill to be able to Haggle.

At Trade level 3, you can buy the Sociability skill at the Merchant Guilds in London, Lisbon, Marseilles and Venice.

Investing also develops cities. Choose wisely where to invest!

When you have enough Fame to get a Port Permit, you will be summoned to the palace of your nation the next time you enter a city Port. The Guard at the palace will give you the Port Permit when you speak to him.

When you have the East Mediterranean port permit, and more than 1 million ducats, you can invest 1 million in Famagusta (or in Venice, if you're Venetian) to get the 'E. Mediterranean Cuisine Collection' recipe book that contains the recipe for Seafood Pizza and Moussaka (both are +50 vigor food).

And if you a few extra million, you can put that recipe book in your bank (perhaps putting it in your 'Book Binder' in your Captain's bag will work, but I recommend putting it in a Bank Vault) and investing again to get the book again. You can sell extra copies to other players.

If you want 'Request Investment Books' to make investing easier, you might be able to get them in Florence (take the chariot from Pisa to get there) when you have a 15th Century, 3~5 Period 'Chrono Title'.  You can get the Chrono Title by doing a Chrono Quest (available at Merchant, Maritime and Adventure guilds) that has '15th Century' and one of those Periods under the Quest's name.

You can get a lot of things with different Chrono Titles.  Look for the Japanese wiki; I don't know whether I'm allowed to post a link here. You can find a link in the Ivyro UWO database website, on the 'Request Investment Book' page. You can find the 'Request Investment Book' page easily by clicking on the 'Recipes' link in the left-side navigation list on the site, and then clicking the link to visit the Handicraft Rank 6 recipes page.

Set Google Translate to translate from Japanese and paste the game's Japanese wiki link into Google Translate. The Google translation box will give you a link that you can click to visit the translated wiki page.

When you're in the East Mediterranean, you may want to consider investing 200k in Salonika or Benghazi to get the 'Traveler's Food Procuring Skill' recipe book.  That book allows you to incubate Eggs to turn them into Chickens (or Ducks).

Being able to collect Eggs from Chickens (using 'Livestock Secrets - Poultry') and then incubate them back into Chickens is a good way of completing Oxford college Cooking theses, and it can be done in Oxford (or London).
Take the chariot from London to get to Oxford.

When you are Adventure level 5, Trade level 5 and Maritime level 5, you can enroll in Oxford college. Oxford college has four buildings. The second, third and fourth buildings appear as you move through the Oxford storyline. When you get to the fourth building, if you have a Production skill at Rank 11 (such as Cooking Rank 11), you gain access to a Cooking thesis that can give you 1000 Trade experience, and a nice amount of fame, every time you complete it. The thesis requires 2000 Basic Productions (or higher-level productions, but fewer of those).

Every production that you do gives you 1 Trade experience, so doing 2000 productions gives you 2000 Trade experience. If you complete that thesis, it's like getting another 1000 experience without doing more work for it!

That's useful when you're leveling an Aide.

It can also be useful when you're ranking other Production skills, such as Handicrafts, Casting, and Sewing.

Once you have all Port Permits that you can get by having Fame, you can do Imperial Quests.

The last Imperial Quest gives you access to East Asia which gives you access to Nanban trading.

Feathers (a Northern Europe specialty good) are good for bribing EA officials. If you have Cooking, Storage, Sewing, the 'Traveler's Food Procuring Skill' book and the 'Fabric Secrets - Hardware' recipe book (which you can buy in Lisbon, Seville, Venice, Marseilles, London or Amsterdam), and if you take some Ducks or Chickens to East Asia, you can breed and pluck Chickens and Ducks there until and have as much Feathers as you want.

Or you can Procure Chickens (with the Procurement skill Rank 12) at Tamsui Southeast (in the Tamsui suburb).

Wine trades well in Japan. If you have Handicrafts Rank 4 and the 'Brewery Secrets' recipe book (which you can buy in Hamburg or Cagliari), you can buy Raisins and take it to East Asia and turn it into Wine there (you would get more Wine than if you take Wine from Europe to East Asia).

The following cities sell Raisins: Bordeaux, Valencia, Madeira, Montpellier, Las Palmas.

Glassware does well in Korea and Taiwan. If you have Handicrafts Rank 6 and the 'Expert Craftsman's Training Book' (you can get it by investing 300k in Jaffa), you can turn Crystal into Glassware. If you have the 'Stone Quarry Book' (400k investment in Sao Tome), you can turn Rocks into Crystal.  You can Collect Rocks (with the Collection Skill Rank 1) at various landings in East Asia.

Western Books do well in Taiwan. You can buy Western Books in Lisbon and Amsterdam (the Sundries Trading skill would help you buy more books). If you have Handicrafts Rank 5 and the 'Craftman's Training Book' (300k investment in Candia), you can turn Hemp, Manilla, Ramie or Sisal into Paper, and turn Paper into Western Books. You can Collect Hemp (Collection R1) in Nantes suburb and in various landings in East Asia.

Oil Paintings and Marble Statues do well in South China.

If you have Handicrafts Rank 5 and the 'Craftsman's Training Book', you can turn Grass into Vegetable Oil (you can get Grass from any grassy landing or suburb using the Collection, Procurement, or Search skills). If you have Handicrafts Rank 14 and the 'Historical Crafts Guide' recipe book (400k investment in Cairo), you can turn Parchment and Vegetable Oil into Oil Paintings. You can buy Parchment (the Wares Trading skill would be useful) in Athens. You can buy Parchment in Cagliari if you have a 15th Century, 2nd Period Chrono Title.

You can buy Oil Paintings (Art Trading would come in handy) in Antwerp and Venice. You can also buy Oil Paintings in Calvi with a 15th Century, 2nd Period Chrono Title and in Groningen with a 15th Century, 2~3 Period Chrono Title.

If you have Handicrafts Rank 12 and the 'Historical Crafts Guide' book, you can turn Lumber and Marble into Marble Sculptures. You can buy Marble in Athens (Wares Trading would be handy). You can also buy Marble in Sassari with a 15th Century, 2nd Period Chrono Title.

You can buy Lumber from various cities. You can also turn Logs into Lumber if you have Handicrafts Rank 1 and the 'Shipwright Basics - Crafts' book (which you can buy in Antwerp, Plymouth, Porto, Barcelona, Genoa, Pisa, Syracuse, etc. You should also be able to buy the 'Shipwright Basics' Casting and Sewing books in a little town near a starting city). You can buy Logs in cities such as Las Palmas, Pernambuco, and that new Portuguese 'industrial revolution' city just north of Porto.

You can buy Marble Sculptures (Art Trading would be useful) in Athens, Candia, Pisa and Genoa. You can also buy Marble Sculptures in Cagliari with a 15th Century, 4th Period ~ 16th Century, 1st Period Chrono Title.

You can buy the following skills when you have a Job that Favours them, or...

When you have Adventure level 2 and Search Rank 2, you can buy the Collection skill at John Dee in London, Nzinga Mbemba in Lisbon, Gesualdo the Musician in Naples, Paracelsus in Venice, Leo Africanus in Tunis, and the Adventure Guild in Istanbul.

When you have Adventure level 2, you can buy the Surveying skill from Admiral Dias in Lisbon, Mercator in Amsterdam, and the Adventure Guild in Istanbul.

When you have Adventure level 1, you can buy Fishing from Lionel Dockett in London, Nginga Mbemba in Lisbon, Tome Pires in Seville, Bicker the Mogul in Amsterdam, Gesualdo the Musician in Naples, Luis de Leon in Barcelona, and Koritan in Mozambique.

When you have Adventure level 3, you can buy the Rescue skill from the Adventure Guild in Genoa and Athens, Duarte Lopez in Porto, and Pare in Bordeaux.

When you have Adventure level 7, you can buy the Search skill from the Duchess of Berry in Calais, Luis de Leon in Barcelona, and the Adventure Guild in Alexandria and North America.

When you have Adventure level 7 and Provisions Rank 1, you can buy Procurement from the Duchess of Berry in Calais and from the Adventure Guild in Tunis and Genoa.

When you have Adventure level 3, you can buy Provisions from Princess Marguerite in Nantes and from the Adventure Guild in Tunis, Naples and Calicut. (I would buy Provisions to get Procurement and then drop the Provisions skill. You can 'forget' skills by choosing the 'Forget Skill' option at Merchant, Adventure and Maritime Guild Masters.)

When you have Trade level 12 and Art Trading Rank 2, you can buy the Handicrafts skill from the Merchant Guild in Naples and from Da Vinci in Marseilles.

When you have Trade level 10 and Crafts Trading Rank 2, you can buy Art Trading from the Merchant Guild in Athens and from Michelangelo in Venice (so by the way, Venice sells Artwork and Crafts).

When you have Trade level 5, you can buy Crafts Trading from President Shylock in Venice and from the Duchess of Berry in Calais.

When you are Trade level 12 and Fabric Trading Rank 3, you can buy Sewing from the Merchant Guild in Alexandria, Tunis and Istanbul and from the Duchess of Traetto in Genoa.

When you have Trade level 7 and Textile Trading Rank 3, you can buy Fabric Trading from Lionel Dockett in London, Quansuh in Cairo, and the Merchant Guild in Istanbul.

When you have Trade level 3 and Accounts Rank 1, you can buy Textile Trading from the Merchant Guild in Alexandria and Amsterdam. (You need to be in a Job that Favours Accounts to be able to buy Accounts.)

When you have Maritime level 3, you can buy the Repair skill from the Maritime Guild in Marseilles, Lisbon, London, Venice and Naples.

iirc its part of the railroad expansion.
and if it is i think you will need san francisco unlocked
and if thats the case you will need all port permits unlocked
so that will take some time and investments from each of your nations capitals and territories
