Hello,

I have been more of a casual player that has played this game for many years and enjoyed my time. I cannot say I invested money in the game, but I have invested hundreds of hours making progress. I do not think the wipe comes out fairly to those that have spent so much money and time progressing, but it appears to be the end of an era. For many, it may as well be the game shutting down and moving on to other things in life. I hope also that for many, they see this as an opportunity for the game to prosper. This is a new era, the decision comes down to do you want UWO to become successful, or continue being our own private little gem slowly dying. This game is designed for a large player base, not 1 player trying to do it all at once. With the right attitude we can still fight onward.

I want to try to look at this as a positive thing, because I do not wish for this game to shut down. It is a shitty situation, but we have to make our best of it if we wish for UWO to have even the slightest chance at a better future even if it is not the ideal path of doing so. I may have a biased perspective since I did not invest money in the game, but that's just what it is, an investment. My life will continue being the same regardless if this game is here or not.

I will do what I can to keep this game going and plan on bringing at least a dozen new players that I have gamed with for many years that will stay committed.

Best of luck to all and I hope to see many of you and my fellow company members from Valkyrie in the future.

     I wish I was like you, and could pretend UWO is over.  It is like I got to the end of my favorite game and it took 7 years, then my same game got corrupt.  I cant go on.  Nor can I re-create the past.  Nor can I invest what I had done in the past.  One thing game companies might not realise.. is that $100 invested in a game might cost a player thousands of dollars to get to.  They have to pay their rent and food.  Some of us have to hide their expenditures from their family who will not understand.  Its more than just the money we invested... more than just the time.  I think those who can leave have the easy path.  Those of us, like me, who stay... we have the hard path.  We lose all, replay the past, re-pay the past, and the company owning our game hates us but takes our money like its nothing.

    I totally understand your argument and completely agree. I simply have not chosen to spend money on the game in my 4 or so years of playing simply because I do not have the money to spend or chose to spend it on more important things I need in life. I personally am currently a student in college with expenses to pay. I never experienced the very beginning of the game with all the port development, but I still played through a lot of the content in the game that will take me a long time to recover. It is definitely harder to continue on if you have been here even longer than I have and have invested the money you can into the game only to have it wiped and start over.
