So we've all heard the terrible news, and the world is over as we know it.
We've all taken some huge losses, and many will leave the game forever. Bon Voyage quitters!

It was a very ignorant move on behalf of Papaya Play / Koei Tecmo. To be honest, I'm not sure if the game or Papaya will stay afloat very long with decisions like this.. However, they had better hope the founder rewards are pretty damn good if they want to make any money from the old-school crowd.

On the bright side, it sounds like piracy and deck battle will make a return. That being said, my pirate company, "Infamous" will be making a return. Anyone who seriously wants to be a filthy ruthless pirate is welcome to join. The company members will be required to defect to the Ottoman nation within a month of joining or face expulsion. If this sounds appealing to you, then please reply to this thread with your IGN.

    i'll see what members return on the relaunch and go from there but i will definitely consider joining infamous if my deputies don't return

    I don't say much but what they are doing is gonna work in favor of the pirates more then the traders or adventures. That being said there will be a lot less going to SEA and EA or the Caribe. People might like this but people are gonna just sit in Seville or EU cities. Which means the economy is gonna be stagnant and get even more stale. I know some might not agree with this, but this is what I feel will happen then where will we all be. No ducats being made no pirates hunting people doing trade runs. The game will not be exciting for people as they wouldn't want to lose stuff that is rare in the game and is hard to  get. I can see this happening and we all will lose out on this in many ways. Just a thought to think about. I am not trying to start a argument but I was also a part of Net Marble and the game went a different way under OGP

    ace ur only speaking of the players currently playing that are unhappy with the wipe choice, however u can not speak for the majority of players for they have not once commented on this forum, this server alone has thousands of players on it most of which don't speak english.

    Please don't quit though, I need help rebuilding our colony..

    @Infamouskilla I’m interested. I’d already started a pirate and put about 30 hours into prepping it.
    I don’t know how to defect tho or how to make money in pirating so maybe i’d be too noob to join.

    Also I’m in Thailand for 3 months from Nov-feb, I will be online as much as poss but I will be traveling too so some days won’t be on at all.

    The timing of this could of been better for me really

    You have probably seen me around in Seville. I'm interested in your offer lol. In fact I already had plans to forefeit my BH status for Piracy before the wipe out. Though u could always train me up a little more to be a perfect pirate. I'm a 6-years UWO active veteran, and I already have several grinding and money making tricks up my sleeves, so I won't require much "training" haha. If u are able to provide me some aid with the right ships and tools, I won't need much spoonfeeding to deliver a huge blow. As a former company deputy director, I roughly know what's needed for a good Colony port. I am able to contribute well.

    I'm still an active UWO player by the way. And if you have newbies, I can teach them the game mechanics too. I am with the same era as Nellemus when he was still a newbie. I don't know if he may have quitted after this wipeout or not. But I agree many legends would have quit after this. We are the last few legends left in this game.

    I look forward for your response soon. We can work together to rebuild Infamous. Kosevo, at your service.

    I understand that not everyone will become an Ottoman privateer with Filibuster job and the Cranio Espada title within the 1st month like me.. I don't want to rush anyone else into piracy, besides we need crafters, cooks, merchants, adventurers, an alchemist, and so on..

    I will rank to R20 shipbuilding while I grind levels, pirate, and defect to the Ottoman nation. I will probably also do some spice trading while I'm working on notoriety for the pirate king title.

    I would like returning members and new members alike to post what they plan on doing in the game, so that we can have all of our bases covered from the start..

    I believe we will need at least 5 people dedicated to rebuilding the colony so that we can have an R3 shipyard once again.

    If I was to join I’d just repeat what I’ve just done.

    Have a main with casting and nanban and eventually SB

    Then I’d have an alt for piracy which would solely be for piracy and also have spice trading. I had spice trading job on my last pirate too.

    My last pirate alt which never really got chance to do anything, I just grinder melee and was about to grind cannon skills before the closure came.

    As regards ottoman, I don’t mind doing that with the pirate toon.

    Why do you change to ottoman?

    An Ottoman in this new world can attack nearly every player on the server without losing fame, as very few will be Ottoman outside my company for a long time.

    However, being Ottoman has other advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that you get shorter wait times when taking the Suez Canal. Also, you never need a disguise to enter cities.

    I was starting to seriously consider going pirate towards the end of the last era, so I'll remember to look this up later.

    In the event that I do decide to take the plunge, Antagon or Lance.Talbot might be looking for a crew.

    If my company doesn't get back together, I will seriously consider going pirate.  In all honesty, I had been thinking about it for a while, but I never had enough power to be any threat to the ones that mattered.
