This is a very different game and requires energy, excitement and long-term goals as well; the whole package. Companies wanting to use games to help create a community work environment among employees they want to keep would have been lucky to find a game such as this.

FrozenRuby gets attention from being such a jerk. Aside from the obvious "troll" moniker, the terms "time burglar" and "emotional vampire" come to mind. Any engagement will serve no constructive purpose other than to rob you of your precious time and leave you feeling exhausted or disgusted after they have fed on whatever emotional response they can illicit from you.

I don't believe people like this even know what their true opinions are. They just automatically voice the most radical view. Their statements lack any depth, never being well thought out or complex and making frequent use of sayings and aphorisms. Quickly leaving the realm of logical discussion and moving to bickering.

I don't pretend to know who this individual is (and glad I don't) but it has confused adolescent who's daddy didn't pay enough attention to them written all over it. Kind of sad really. Exponentially more so if this developmentally stunted individual is actually an adult.

Bad enough we have so many community members distraught over loosing years of progress, and people legitimately trying to have intelligent discussions over current game related issues, we need sift through some disturbed weirdo's scatterbrained attention-whoring in almost every thread.

If a technology company can not do data backup / restore it can close the doors and deserve to be prosecute for that (and it will be). If it's a strategy is the stupidest thing I've ever seen, it makes no sense, the arguments are terrible.

Just go back the plunder of items, adjust the pvp, with the server running, reset everything for this? Bad Joke

And why in the middle of 2017 I'm going to start playing a 2010 game of 0 if I have several better options? We only played because of all the history built, if they threw it in the trash, they threw me too, thanks

Ruby here is some Info for you... this is the 2nd wipe and 3rd owner, not everyone is like you and plays with a pocket book or wallet, they use skills so losing all there investments in ports, custom built ships, 2881 Discos that a profound loss to them.

I am not losing alot, I have spent some on astros in game (not anymore, the trust in the game is lost), my major loss will be all the top level players that were friends the company members that were not only friends but close to a family online.

I will be there the 18th, I want to see the Joke they call legacy reward for all the years we have played and payed in the game.

FrozenRuby now start to change topic and talking about his/her education qualification. We are talking about how Papaya play dismissal players' years effort and money to do a complete server wipe. Your education qualification or your professional knowledge do nothing help to ease the anger pf players or explain the server wipe action.
You maybe rich and have plenty of time to do all over again after server wipe. But there are many people who have different backgorund and they have no so much spare time to spend on starting it all over again. Not to mention server wipe itself will undermine players confidence on continue playing uwo.

Ruby, i dont know if you're related in any way with either Papaya or KOEI, as some suspect, or if you're simply a cyberbully meant to ruin every thread available, with your zillion posts that all look like one big advertisement to whatever Papaya plans about the game. You even go to such lengths as to say in one of your posts that PLAY UWO LIKE WE WANT IT OR LEAVE. You may have some knowledge in programming, as you pretend, but in commercial matters you're clueless, a BIG ZERO. Any company that goes by your attitude will end up bankrupt. Companies go to great lengths to keep their customers happy and advertise their products, instead of BUY IT IF YOU LIKE OF STFU AND LEAVE. Anyway, your attitude is counterproductive to the game, because an online game is half about the coding and half about the community. Alienate the community and you're out of business. And the way Papaya started with the UWO community is totally inept. They understand nothing about the game.
- How will they earn the trust of the big spenders who kept this game alive if they start with nullifying all the big bucks these people spent?
- How will they keep the server afloat financially, if nobody is willing to take the risk?
- How many new players did you see into the game over the last 2 years? This game is special, it's much more about old players than attracting new ones, given its antiquated graphics and obsolete engine? Today's new players go to different types of games, so it's wishful thinking to believe you will attract other big spenders instead of those who just got burned.
- Who will invest from now on, knowing that next year their bucks might be negated by another wipe?
There are many more questions, which your forum bullying and spamming will certainly not answer. So if you're really Papaya, you'd better tone down and keep a lower profile.
Only the future will tell the answers to these questions, but with a tiny community made of non-spending players the future will be bleak.

i think Frozen aim is to divert our attention on the server wipe to his/her and minimize the blame taken to OGP/Papaya. I doubt that Forzen is somehow hired from papaya to "manage" the forum

Well no ruby. You cant raise the victim flag and say peeps are pickin on u. Your standing in the middle of the play ground running ur mouth, of course peeps are going to walk by the slap the shite outta ya from time to time. and you can't go running to teacher when all u had to do to start with was STOP running ur mouth. It would be wise to stop, before i figure out who ya are, and we all know what kinda hell i can unleash of a plunder server. So if u wanna keep the items u get in game for any length of time, please shush or u'll go on my top 1 hitlist :D

I think the biggest blow is to players who saved their vaulables, and grinded skills, all for an end-game scenario... which got stolen. In other words... they grinded for years in order to enjoy what they believed to be a worthwhile effort... and had it ripped away before having a chance to truly play and enjoy the game. Thats how I feel. I spent years to get in a position to enjoy doing adventure quests.. the right ships and ground the skills. I had just started up.. and done about 30 quests going full bore and loving it.. then OGP annonces the sale.

Just started reading this thread (not even half way down page one) and have already written off FrozenRuby as someone with their head where the sun don't shine. Millions or even billions of lines of code for pong or tetris? About 1M (many repetitive, with programmed progression character sequences written automatically) for the most sophisticated 3-D version ever written of tetris, and about 3K for any standard 2-d version. As for pong, an exact equivalent of the game played on the antique Atari 2600 can be replicated today in 30 lines. Just for comparison: the total coding for every function of the Large Hadron Collider is less than 50M lines. Don't tell us that this game is anywhere near as complicated as that.

billions of lines would be a lot. I remember when I used to type out some simple programs in basic on my tandy home computer (10 print hello, 20 goto 10, etc). Fifty line programs were pretty time consuming. I would hate to have to type out even a million lines.
