I think all companies knew months ago. I don't claim to have foresaw this, but hindsight is 20/20. Reasons? Pirates King Tools and festival.

They were literally handing out an extremely OP event reward like candy.

Coupled that , and this makes perfect sense to me.

I think all companies knew the wipe was happening months ago. I don't claim to have foresaw this, but hindsight is 20/20. Reasons? Pirates King Tools and the "festival that never ends".

PKT: They handed out extremely OP rewards with astro items like candy. Would they really do this if the wipe wasn't coming? Would KOEI even let them?

Festival: The eternal NA festival introduced millions of adventure exp in a way that adv exp was not meant to be earned. OGP didn't care then, and didn't care for the repercussions. If a full hand-off was coming, they probably would have some obligation to keep things in line. Again, would KOEI let them do that?

My theory is that, since they're bringing things more in line with the asian servers, KOEI/Papaya decided that a reset was the easiest solution for them. From a technical standpoint, a transfer is more work. They just decided that the value was not worth it, these are businesses after all. Given enough backlash, they may reconsider their estimates. But make no mistake, everything was arranged at the latest mid-August.

Add that with CT's theory that they all wanted to string us along to minimize the refunds, the entire thing makes perfect sense to me.
