OK let me first state you're in idiot for telling me what I will do...because you're wrong. I'm currently on here just to do something while downloading a few new games. I might as well take time to say goodbye to my friends.
Also, I've put many years into the game, and helped a lot of new people in hopes to keep them from leaving. I think I've earned the right to state my $.02 on my predictions.
You accept from me a similar list without exceptions? But not such as you have in words, without proof. My list will be with proofs in the form of screenshots. Such cases, when they call the understated price of a ship when asking for a price - millions. I was never a reseller, I did not have time to do it. The only ship I resold is RCWM in the last days of the game, and the toja exchanged it for 3 sails from the bottle and sold it for 4b. All spare parts, sails that I had from a bottle, I sold at a discounted price.
Not to deceive newcomers, I always helped them go through the schools for 1-2 days, drove them across Europe at their ETC and gave them at the end of the school 50-100 million ducats, thus saving them time and providing the opportunity for a quick start, not to mention advice and advice. Do not be all one size fits all. If I begin to collect evidence, many, including you, will go to more than once in this list, with evidence.
I will not allow insulting and humiliating me without proof. And underpricing is not a crime or fraud. I just do not remember that I bought any astro-ships, but even so, I do not have to buy them at your "price". Any buyer wants to buy as cheaply as possible and sell as much as possible. The sale of ROG for 100b is not fraud? More fraud can not be imagined. And what if I want to buy it for 5b? If there is a seller, why not? Everyone has his own head.
Here's the case: dBrother traded its 72 ESBRs (25m each) to my 36 Orichalcum (200m each). Who is guilty? He could tell me that this is not fair? Could, but I'm to blame. Or Bartolomeo ~ bought from me 2 CSTS at 500m each, when they cost 4b. Could say that it's not fair? Could, but I'm guilty, because I did not ask in the chat how much it costs. Do not put your own fault on another.
And lastly: I never resell ships and spare parts, if I buy, then for personal use. If I sell, then they fell out of the bottle and they do not need me. Do not hang a label on me and do things that I did not do.
And what category would you put me in? i hope not that reseller list, cause you can ask around i was never a reseller. AND YES OFFERING A LOW PRICE ON AN EXPENSIVE SHIP THAT YOU KNOW THE PRICE OF, BUT ARE PLAYING ON THE NOOBNESS OF THAT PERSON TO SELL TO YOU IS A SCAM. Yea sometimes trades happen w/o either party knowing the price of the items, that does happen, but if you know the normal price of ship if 4b, and u offer 2b, u are TRYING to scam that person. NO u are not forcing that player to do that trade, but ur using ur experience's and their lack-of to better urself and hurt that person... How is that not SCAMMING? dbrother is a reseller, i was selling him 20 esbr's for 500m sold him like 60, then seen him trying to resell those same esbrs for 50m/per. He is a know reseller. And resellers only become scammers to me as ive said, if they intentionally offer a low price to someone with low or less experience then them, in hopes to get a ship half price or whateva the case my be. No wonder ur kids are the way they are, like i said they just doing what they've seen you do.
p.s. saying "it didn't happen w/o proof" it basically admitting ur guilty just you don't think i can prove it.
Didn't put you in a list, i specifically told u why i have problems with you. Didn't group you with anyone was specific about what u said and why i don't like it. You were "phishing" for a scam. We'd all laugh at ur "WTB any bottle ships" all in merc chat. Ur as bad as when i first started playing was this one guy who everyday did the same "spam" WTB ESBT's 500k, WTS ESBT's 1m PM ME, all on the same line. .....like seriously? lolol
I see you're fixated on your fake accusations and do not see what others are printing. This diagnosis is a branch of schizophrenia and is called tyranny. I wish you success in real life and in the game. I'll give you a list in the near future, as soon as the game resumes. Then you have to completely cancel the trade between the players.
That is fine, if seller is selling low that's complete acceptable to purchase it. Would be nice if u'd inform them on the proper price before u purchase. But i'm referring to someone saying "WTS Aship pm me", you know Aship = 4b, u KNOW THIS, yet u TRY TO SCAM and you say "hey i'll give u 2b for Aship, that's a good deal" seller doesn't KNOW Aship = 4b and u buy it 2b = SCAM!!!!!!!!!
"Would be nice if u'd inform them on the proper price before u purchase". Say it to resselers. And for personal use, I will try to buy as cheap as possible, not focusing on "your" prices. I've never been a reseller and I'm not going to be. You can include me in LARGE letters in your list.
The best scenario is a scenario without astro-ships. If all the ships will be built at the shipyards, then the importance of shipbuilding will increase. Now they say that the game needs to be financed, etc. Financing can be achieved by selling the necessary parts, SSIP, ESBR, SSIR and other things. Also, NPCs and boosts provide substantial funding. But excessive uncontrolled inflation will not happen.
I agree, it's about this. But they will not be so rare and expensive. There will be an alternative: Or buy them on the market with hands, or raise shipbuilding and build them yourself.
Agree to almost everything, as an old timer, a very very old timer I am speechless, as I got the email to switch server, and thought it was gonna be a chance to come back. Then seeing the wipe I am sad, I do not know how sad. The time and money I spent on this game, having maxed out multiple characters on level and skill, I am a bit speechless. The new players will not know the tales and old timers, they might know as far as Lodian, dog, Apple, and maybe a few others too. But they won't know people like ghost, yan, or the even older guys that started as they start the game. Not to mention that a wipe will force a lot of vet spending a lot of time repeating things to unlock stuff in the game. I really do not look forward to investing all 7 nations again to become a 7 nation r20SB, nor do I wanna again grind all my battle skills to max again and then wipe it and do it again. For god sake I did that for rowing too, I must be stupid. All I can say is we are going back to 2010. Hahahaha 7 years of gaming gone in a puff!
"Due to OGPlanet's discontinuation of service on September 29th, all Uncharted Waters data on their servers been lost"
probably going to get flamed by someone saying this but.... not sure we can blame Papaya for this as they may not of gotten complete data transfer from OGP before they went bust and shut everything down. Now I may be speculating here but if all they were provided in a usable format were lists of users / accounts and the other data they got detailing what was related to each account was not in a useable format due to corruption with no option to get a good copy of such data (as the servers are gone) then Papaya is doing what they can to compensate us.
Am I happy about loosing years worth of work invested into this game? No.
Am I going to quit and stop playing one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played because of this? NO.
Am I discounting the loss that lots of other players have suffered because of this ? Heck no!!!
When I was Livestock Trading R6, I bought Pigs in Faro, turned them into Sausage, and sold them back to the market keeper. The sausage sold for ten times the price of the pigs. I was using Oxford production skills, and Faro's mayor set the city so that more trade goods could be bought. I was making 240k in 6 minutes (about the equivalent of 10 million per 3 hours). With the game reset, I might be able to make half that amount of money in twice that time, but it would still be a good source of income. And only requires Cooking R5. If the game still gives the 'First Job for the Guild' quest, if Porto sells Wheat, and if I can get the 'Simple Recipes' and 'Livestock - Pigs' recipe books, I can make a lot of money in a reasonably short amount of time. I suggest that other players find quick ways to make cash too. We could use all the money we can get for investing.
Maybe the people discover the wiki and ivyro on their own - and thus learn a lot of the ins and outs themself. (I am aware that many older players filled it in, but you can explore the game even without it)
Also, vigour food is easy to get: Buy it from the taverns. I often did that on the old server since I'm not going to buy overpriced sfn.
All the veterans can give you is how they did it and maybe give you freebies. But considering that that so many people think trading = race to spice/nanban I think their advise is ..dubious.
But the thing is, you don't need to be the best, you need to have fun and I belive letting so-called veterans tell you what to do is actually bad, since you have less incentive to try your own path.
I came back to uwo after a break - only to learn that it is closing so I don't know how the last months were, but most of the time I played the secret to having fun lied in three things: not being overly competetive (in the sense that you should not rage about more successfull ppl), having a nice/chatty company and staying out of the world chat.
I have played for a long time (with breaks tho) and I don't know most of these so-called legends. What is the point in them anyways? Why would I care who is somehow better than I am?
All I see in this forum is that too many people are focused on the late game. The early game is fun on its own. You will have & make less Ducats - but that struggle *is* part of the fun. Enjoy the early game for what it is and don't focus on the late game so much oô
Hey CPC we going to have any auctions on new server? I think this is great. boo-hoo 7 yrs, 3x toons and over 200b gone, but guess what? we now have a good server again. CPC is correct, veterans become legendary sources of knowledge. But also veterans will flourish. See we know all the wiki's/ivyro by heart, we know where and when to go do what, and what to do when we get there. i didn't get much sleep last nite cause i was laying there planing my new grind out. But this is good. Crafters are now back at the top of the chain, so any crafting skills will give u some return now, SB will greatly be worth the time, and who knows we may get the perma 50% i do hope so, cause grinding before that was crazy, but if not its just more time, nothing serious. And to answer any questions. Yes I Will Be Going Back Pirate. Just the 18th is still WAY TO FAR OFF FOR ME, LETS OPEN SERVER THIS WEEK :D

I'd be willing to help rebuild this new community, without most of the vets here.
I haven't yet talked to any of my old comp mates in Red Empire to see if they will return or not.
Honestly it comes down to how well papaya play will manage this go round.
I was trying to tell OGP that they could implement a subscription base. Added with benefits. Compared to like FFXIV, WoW, Runescape, etc.
This is pretty much going back to the start of 2017 when OGP was "going into new management"
If people can fork out Thousands of dollars on this game they can pay a subscription. Though player base might not be that big to make a difference. Considering now there will be less players this coming 18th.
All in all, who knows how this will turn out. All we can do is make predictions, assumptions, and guesses.
I'm hoping for the best for everyone new or vet.

this was a test account my main papaya account is AtemsUWO.
I think CPC's observations make alot of sense (as they usually do). There hopefully will be enough guides and remaining veteran players around to help the new players with the restarted server. And of course the restarted server will (probably) lower the prices of everything in the player bazaars so that everyone can afford the traded items.
For my part, as long as Wordpress hasn't deleted my blog or whatever, I'll keep my older guides up for anyone who is interested in reading those. And hopefully other veteran players like CPC will continue to keep their guides somewhere on the Internet - at least so the newer players will benefit from that source of knowledge.
But I highly doubt that I'll be playing this game too much after the server rest. There's just too much time and effort involved in grinding everything back to the way things were before the wipe, and I'm not sure I want to do all of that with all the games that keep getting released these days.
To Blake and Clemsonfan - my post obviously intimidated you some and I do not wish to scare off the old vets on my hitlist it was a joke (as was this comment)
and to you CPC:
people will buy investment bonds and the world will open rather quickly I think you are wrong here
Niccolo De Conti I think you are under-estimating the level of addiction here
Frozen Ruby why post everywhere you are rubbing salt in wounds of players that spent close to 10 thousand dollars you act very much like Angel of Death - brat and mean hearted cold ____
I wonder am I censored? my posts does not show at all. This is awesome! before launch I am completely censored for no reason at all. I was merely speaking about how there are some very old old timers that not even the current players know of, if I cannot even post that, I am not sure what's gonna happen in the future.
I will be back just to see if train runs on time or is a loud and large train wreck. i will hop on board, but will never buy a first class ticket again,to old to tired to broke
i been playing about 4+ years now on UWO and i'll continue to play. losing all my items ships and money might suck but i can get it all back just takes time. ( oh god grinding again ! ) but as long as even a few dozen vets come back this game will recover. those that rage quit will return in time after they spent their anger at having to start over. the ones that remain will teach the new players and the player base will grow. like CPC said it will take time a year or so and i think most who quit will return. seeing some of the old pirates come back in game would be a welcome site also. and no i am not a pirate but i think the game needs them other wise we are playing farmville on water.
I've played UWO casually since 2011. I never became very proficient at it, I just got on whenever the mood struck me. The last significant thing I did before putting it down was unlocking East Asia ports - and that was a year ago.
So this is a rant from a semi-vet:
I'd be really excited for the wipe except for the fact that they're dumping items and cash into the economy right from the get go. I've decided to make a new account, and start completely fresh regardless.
My issue with the game, particularly during the OGP period, was the absolutely insane inflation. Players could win huge amounts of money in the form of checks, and they could sell items from the cash shop for an exorbitant rate. Seville's markets were absolutely inflated to hell and back.
I admit that I was part of the problem. I sold premium items that I snagged for millions of ducats. Why wouldn't you though? They were there waiting to be sold.
Then there were premium ships. That's all fine and good, but I never spent the money on the lottery games to get one. Sure, you could get a really decent, player-made ship, but you'd always be outclassed by somebody who spent real cash and won an amazing ship by chance.
My hope with this change of hands is that the developers will get the item shop and in-game inflation under control.
If they give returning players too much compensation, you will have a very distinct class divide between new players, and veterans. That could end up hurting the game in the long ron.
The price is always what someone is willing to pay. A 4 billion ship is only worth 4 billion when someone will pay that. If the best offer you can get is 2 billion, it's a 2 billion ducat ship, right up to the point someone offers more.
