let me tell i did several times PM sellers of bargain/ignorant priced offers to remind them they could get way more if their item was worth it as a general consensus. a few did respond they knew but most just gave a short thanks and changed tactic to a PC first, i like to think not profiting from their ignorance was not a waste on my part but some basic decency.
Desire spawns madness, madness collapses into disaster. mankind never learns...
b15h09 you are right. And it s true that in the last period before closing the prices gone sky high in the game and that was not good for the new players, but allso for some of the old ones.
But...about the prices,if someone ask 5 bil over a ship it s his problem,he s asking whatever he want for his stuff, but that doesn t mean someone will pay that amount of money.
If a new player pay that price it s his fault because he didn t ask around before make that purchase.
And if i like some ship and i want to have it i whould pay maybe double his real price or triple because it s my chioce and my money.
It seems that Papaya was unable to agree with OGP about the data transfer, and they entered into a direct agreement with KOEI, and therefore could not do anything more than give the opportunity to start anew instead of completely shutting down. Yes. it is difficult to develop everything from the beginning, but I hope it will be easier and faster than the first time, since we already have a colossal experience. We just need to all together to direct their efforts in one direction.
people will buy investment bonds and the world will open rather quickly I think you are wrong here
I will express my opinion on this matter. Investment bonds will interfere with the game strongly, but they can be used by administrators to quickly bring cities into the state they were before restarting. That is, do not sell these investment bonds, and several GMs can only deal with the development of cities.
Hey Cpc This is CosmicPanda its been awhile. i will be coming back to the game to tell you the truth i let in the first place because of the economic disadvantage i had starting late in the game.i hope some of the greats i had met and played with return like you cpc B_WPanda ezio Sin and a few others. i feel the wipe was for the best in the long term. here is the reasons why
1. Economic reset. With this newer players coming in wont be scared off or feel as if they have a far chance to succeed.
2. level playing field. Before when i came in and got to a point i felt as if no matter what i did i could never catch up to the greats.
3. Refreshing new computation. Before the greats had only the other greats as computation and it became stale. now there with be new and more people competing for the top spots.
Oh by the way CPC i always thought of you as the greatest merchant in the game and now i will take this chance to become as good or better as a merchant that you were.
I'm returning with my knowledge of maritime and shipbuilding and hope to train new players to help fill these roles as the game progresses beyond the restart. I think Uwo can survive this reset. While it's true that a lot of people got discouraged with this reset and have decided to leave the game, there are many dedicated players who will remain. There will be new players to the server directly resulting from papaya plays new role as the game distributor and their marketing efforts.
I see all the old dedicated players I know already working towards individual agendas that will benefit the world as a whole. While it's true that on one hand, we lost everything we worked for in UWO past. On the other hand, though, we have been given a unique opportunity to use our skills and knowledge to shape this new UWO server into a better, more economically stable and player-friendly environment.
Traders, adventurers, bounty hunters and pirate veterans are coming together across the board to make their contribution to the new UWO and countless new players will benefit.
"Traders, adventurers, bounty hunters and pirate veterans are coming together across the board to make their contribution to the new UWO and countless new players will benefit."
Beautifully said, I hope it will be beautifully done
Well personal I can't wait to start anew, and begin the process of grinding, which will be a bit hard at first but afterwards will be fun to start sinking random people... sorry merchants in advances =)
Even though it does kinda sucks having all my ships gone =(
But maybe if I am lucky I will make a good shipy again like my iron barca... hehe
But other then that I got to wait till they relaunch the game so i can start playing again...
Also I'm kinda a bit down as well, broke a bone in my foot so can't really move around much, can't even go to work either x.x~
I probably lost as many ships as anybody in the game. but I guarantee you I will be back and leading, or helping a company to greatness. I did not want a wipe. I lost a great deal of money. But I will return, and not to listen to whinny little kids, but rather to prove we can do better next time.
I will play of course, I love the game but there has been a wipe.
This means I am now, as many other players probably are too, very, very reluctuant to invest real money into a game with a very uncertain future. This will ultimately kill the new server I'm sure.
