Never thought I would actually see this...

"Due to the technical nature of the relaunch, however, all existing
player progress and items from OGP will unfortunately be lost, and the
game world/economy will undergo a complete reset."

I always knew that Ship bottles/Treasure boxes were a scam.  They were lottery tickets that didn't tell you the odds you had of winning.  Knowing this I still fooled around with them here and there in hopes of hitting something nice.  All told I've probably blown around 300$-400$ over 7 or so years on them and gotten a few nice ships which I enjoyed customizing and fitting out.  Did I get my money's worth over 7 years?  Not really but my items and characters were always there for me when I decided to come back from a break.  I could pick up my progress and play for a few months and then when life got too busy I could take a vacation from the game.  Even if you didn't spend a dime on this game you at least spend many, many hours building and leveling your skills.

And now it's all gone..."Due to the technical nature of the transfer"...Sure... sounds totally legit.

I have never seen a developer dump on it's player base as bad as this in all my life.  This game has been on life support for years now, it has literally been kept alive by maybe 40-100 or so paying customers who regularly spend huge sums of money to get the new blingy ships and items.  Even those who don't spend lots of money on the game still spend time grinding skills and aspiring to break into the top tiers of endeavor, providing server content in the process.  I don't believe for a minute there is any real reason why our progress can't be saved and transferred over to the new servers, or that a solution couldn't be found to achieve that end.

Koei is crazy if they think their player base is going to pay money for charms and ships and spend countless hours, AGAIN, to regrind all their skills, AGAIN, just so they can get back to the place they were a month ago.  Even if any of us were going to start over I can promise you that NO ONE would spend a dime on this game ever again, why would we?  Once this precedent is made, that they can just reset everything and take away everything you worked and paid for, what is there to stop them from doing it again in the future?  I guess consumer confidence is no longer a priority over at Koei...Oh well, was fun (sort of) while it lasted.

And please, no ignorant Bernie Bootlickers replies, anyone who is dumb enough to think this is going to create "economic equality" is just plain stupid.

Get your s'mores stuff ready, the dumpster fire is about to begin.
