GREED = The Reason UWO was failing!

Its very evident to see the amount of greed that was on the server with OGP. As you see here, majority of the players that were left are only here to expand their wealth ingame and get better stuff.  The lets go play uwo was surpassed by hey let me get rich and sit around and do nothing.  Hopely those will be gone now.  Its sad to hear people say they'd rather keep their ROG and sit in seville bored waiting on BC or esf or sunday morning mocks, then to start over fresh, when a new batch of players and actually enjoy the game. Thank God OGP failed from beginning to end (lost data) and Papaya now has the ability to "Make UWO Great Again" So lets stop the crying and start focusing our efforts on informing Papa on the other things ingame that need fix'd. Game Data is gone, if u can't play anymore fine go, if u can't spend anymore, fine just stop crying and w8 til 18th, if u can handle both being able to play again and being able to spend again, the AWESOME.  So lets stop the fussing and lets put on a smile (THOSE OF US WHO STAY) and make this thing work.  For 1 we need to petition to Papaya to keep the perma +50% skill booster going, and the XP booster til level 35 going.  That will assist us and any new players coming in.  

Also we need events.  The first couple months going to be cruical to keeping veterans happy, and encouraging new players to come and stay.  Easy events like chase the GM, or easter egg hunt, or GM bingo.  Are great for new players cause in town we are all on the same levels. well as long as u can use public chat.

I have another tread going to start, please comment on that.

    While I don't agree people who leave only wanted to expand their and play worry free... I do think we all need to pull together to make it work.

    The people who left feel betrayed that their provider removed all their years of work with no consideration for the time and effort they put in then. In addition they feel the providers were not transparent and honest from the jump or handled this whole transfer correctly it was botched since the beginning like I said before anyone who leaves now is totally justified except for a few people. So we shouldn't beat those people down.

    However Pie seems like me and you and a lot of others will have to repair the world and it WILL be challenge but we'll get through it we always do. Clem you got screwed point blank but please we need your help come back you don't have to stay but just stay for a while to help.  

    Let's face it OGP, Netmarble and even Koei themselves made some HUGE F UPS in the game regarding balance, P2W, incentive, personnel choices and game play. Something had to be done a wipe is dumb but 2 servers would have been perfect one new and one that continues on but whatever.... 

    We'll get through it... We have to.

    I see your point about people being money hungry and sat around Seville doing nothing.

    But you don’t speak for the majority.

    Most of us that played the game weren’t rich and had sooo much more left to accomplish.

    this may be a fresh and exciting start for those very few bored top level players that had ‘done it all’.
    But for people like me it’s just ripped the foundation i had built from under our feet.

    nah cpc  i  am done this is bull. i spent thousands of dollars and 7+ years developing my game.  these guys wanna cater the the crowd that hurt the server the most  nah i am done.
    master Gazi already messaged me to see if i was returning. and i thought alot about it.
    but as long as killadub and pie get their way  i dont see a point.   they will kill the server and run off  players in droves.  but they will have fun doing it i guess.

    I'm not sure what those greedy players were doing.  Maybe OGP should have investigated.  Maybe the FBI should have been called.  I mean... players logged online that spent a lot of money playing but not so much anymore.  Thats greedy and shameful.  They should be punished.   

      In my sarcasm is lost on any poor-english speakers.... i wont let it hang there.  There is no problem with any of the players playing the game.  Please stop with accusations of what activities were killing the game.  The biggest issue is getting MORE players, not losing them.

    Which is why everyone who restart and at least give it a chance before you complain or moan about changes or the reset it'self.  Sure 6 months from now, servers are dead no-one around, game doesn't pick up.  Then start the crying.

    well i built a trade fleet and stopped nanban unless i was flat broke ...grinded a 7 nation  r 20 sber and learned to hate sbing ... was just the servers mod  slave (will work for food sign), did all that to fund pirating , ogp killed that .... i am tickled  that papaya decided to wipe the server and still hold out hope they will solve the economy isues and stop robbing sbers/crafters , while revamping the world pvp system to keep it in check. to be honest i was problably on my way out of the game b4 this thx papaya for returning my  game to me :DDD

    You mean u spent several years running 5 toons, til u got caught, and used ur son as ur excuse to continue running 5 toons. Yes tiger did play, but many many times it was u running all 5 toons for nanban. You can't lie, i was there in the comp with you, and watched. Its ok, maybe they allow multi's and u can have ur advantage again, and run 5 toons, so i can plunder all 5 of them at once in deck battle.

    I see the greed of OGP realy being the issue here, They had a vote to see what the most wanted ship in the game was. Then put it in bottle to milk as much CASH as they could from it before deleting it all on us.
    I barely got to scratch the paint on my new SNG.
    They consistently ruined the value of rare items like shipbuilding book and wander wear by over releasing them after making them so hard to get.
    Then, at the end they took away the paypal option, seemed innocent at the time, but was because paypal has grievance process we could have used against them for taking our money then deleting what they sold us.
    We are better off being free of OGP, is was just way too bloody expensive to do it.

    The biggest loss for me would easily be the Ships that I worked hard for and won from the Sailors Bottle which cost Real Money. All those ships are completely gone and we cannot get those some of those ships back. Its a huge hit for me to lose my SNG, because I will probably never get that again.

    Ducats are something that I doubt many players are going to miss because it can be built up again. Skills and be leveled again over quite a bit of time. But many Items and Ships we all straight up will not be able to get again. 

    What caused the game to fail wouldn't be greed. Easily the schooling kept out many new players as it long and boring. It was walls of text and slow speed traveling consuming most of the time. Navigating the quest was difficult first time around and it was not always clear where I was to go or what it wanted me to do. They made ways for new players to reach out for help such as the school chat and boosting exp/fame gained, but that only helps and did not remove the original issue. The fame grind bored players out of staying once past the tutorial. I know even I needed a loan to help buy Asian goods to gain large amounts of fame to unlock access to the quest that opened ports. Once past this for me it was smooth sailing, for others lack of direction can be a stop. The economy was broken, sure, but I would not say that it made the game fail with the previous examples as my evidence.

    I'm so glad the economy is being wiped.  There really were greedy players who weren't making the community that fun, and the community back in OGP had blinders on.

    They were pathetic.  And when I made a post on their forums hoping the server would be wiped, their community moderators of course removed my post. They were really blocking free speech and making a very biased way of playing the game happen.

    I also hope to we don't have stupid GM events where they give out extremely expensive items just adding to the in-game inflation.

    I think Papaya will do better. Though unfortunately the game still relies on a cash shop which will probably give pay to win advantages. (i dont care about people being able to pay for faster access to things, but its unfair if it gives them better stats that are unattainable otherwise)

    OGP censorship was disgusting.
