The wipe will fix the problems if they remove the one major item that caused it.... investment bonds, do you not realize that being able to buy and develop cities with real cash and avoid using ducats has a massive effect on the games economy?
The income you can make ingame was designed around how much is needed to develop cities, just like any other mmo the economy needs to be balanced with money sinks. The money sink is UWO was completely removed and the income you could gain playing the game was not changed along side it.
by looking at the amount of money and time i have put into it im not really sure if returning will be a good plan, like to start all over again and maybe putting so much money into it again.. i dont know if its worth it
trading us founder packs for billions of D and custom ships is a deal breaker why would i want to spend 3000+ hours trying to get back what ive grinded on a 10 year old game this is insane i hope u can find enough new player willing to spends 1000s of hours to play an old outdated game good luck i wont be spending much time on new charcter creation
Rhend / Francois l'Olonnais is coming back, hardcore this time around.
I played hard at launch, and was one of the leading merchants at that time. I played for 2-3 years after that, then lost interest.
I originally left because the market became flooded due to the multiboxing that the original company said wasn't allowed, yet they ignored it happening. By the time netmarble stated that it was allowed (3 per ip) the market was ridiculous and those who hadn't been "cheating" were light years behind those who had.
I think the major item is absurdly overpowered cash ships that any newcomer can use if he/she has the RL money to buy it, then becomes a moderately dangerous player even without years of skill or knowlwdge.
If you want a great boat EARN IT! Through endless hours of grinding, cash ships ruined the game for me, I played hard to be able to sail my end game ships and be able to build and mod them. When you see a newcomer in a boat that makes yours look like an old row boat, then whats the point, then the things go for billions or real caxh (Which the server provider never profits from)
Well they do in a way from the bottle/chest gambling addiction some pkayers seem to suffer from.
Find another way to make money Papaya, cash ships are rediculous.
As a mid level player I didn't lose much except time. Coming back is easy but time is precious. With winter approaching I'll probably progress a little faster, but it's still going to be time limited. I'm undecided but leaning towards returning since there are other games not requiring the same commitment but none of them seem anywhere near as interesting as this one.
I find it a very stupid act the total reset. since the server was already suffering from few players early, if the server first worked only thanks to the few players fond of the title. was it necessary to reset the only ones who kept the populated server? Do you think it's okay to start over again after years? now who will play uwo? 10% of veterans and the rest?
