I think u should stop crying about all those $ u wasted to try and be better than everyone else. You know if some of ya'll werent the type to spend crazy dollars for a slight advantage in-game u wouldn't be crying. Yes i know server needs support but some of ya'll live for the chance to say you are better than someone cause u spent some cash and they didn't. This time don't rush to try and be that top 1%, use time rather than so much money to get what u want. No i'm not saying don't support game, i'm saying don't flood all ur $ into a game just to be better, use it for convience and some fun and u'll enjoy it alot better.
I did not flood all my money into the game just to be better.
I spent because I want to collect. None of my top ships were from bottle spending or astro selling. I have other means of making passive income around 20b per quarter via CPC money guide, all legitimate income. I bought my IATS for 20b at the very early days, and bought a friend an AVic for 70b. I also collected a few other legacy ships such as ADZ, bought for 7b from TaiwanFisherman.
And time is something I do not really have in abundance. I usually have the luxury of playing at max 1 hour per day except for events, to which I have plan carefully ahead.
I despise grinding, and would like to spend time rather on some interesting pvp drama or event. Team gank, BC, ESF chasing Coolwind. I also like to explore the unknown, like charting north sea passage and Canada Passage.
You see, the main problem I have with this new publisher PP is that it resets my progress, and many others', and hence require me to invest my time in worthless grinding exercise.
Try dating a woman you divorced in the same way as dating your first girlfriend, and you will see the irony of playing UWO from the beginning once again.
It's funny, everyone seems to think that people are pissed purely because of the money. It's not just the money, it's the time, effort, love and care that went into playing UWO and developing the world/community.
pieratthe, I played the game just as you said. I did not grind, use charms or boosts. I just played the game and let skills and levels rise at their own pace. That is why the wipe really did me. I spent 5.5 years off and on to get where I was; high mid-level on several toons. I expect to be moving and having no internet in 4 to 5 years, so it is doubtful I can even reach the levels I had before the wipe. That being said, I am not sure I will play again. I would not have maritime (it sucks in this game) toons this time around so maybe I would be able to reach high levels with a trader and adventurer. I also agree about trying to be better than other players. It is meaningless.
