Weeding out the pampered players who shun piracy..

OGP mistakenly catered to this whiny bunch, and it directly affected the game in an extremely negative way. Fortunately, those type of players will not survive in the new game. Most will just download the game, look at their founder's rewards and then come here to complain before they quit for good. This time their woes will go unnoticed and UWO will be finally be a success once more.
Farewell quitters! You can go find something else to bitch about now.

At the same time, as a side note, I'm looking forward to having at least 3 months of pirate-free waters once we get started regardless of what the rules are.

Also, there is more to PVP than just max refining over a dozen skills which takes months of what actually feels like real work. For instance, there are ships that cost 100b just for the ticket.. Add another 50b to grade and mod properly. Also, don't forget about your Black Rong Fu, Volcanic Pistols, forging tools, +20 -0 plates, and so on which can cost hundreds of billions. Last but not least is cannons, my co mate paid 10b each for 5 IGHP's. Im sorry, but even if I was motivated and wanted to spend months grinding battle, I still wouldn't have 500b to compete..
Instead I chose to have fun and play the game how I wanted, but that doesn't make me a quitter.
you do realize those in the Black sea will be in battle ships, maritime jobs, and prepared for fights, also probably in a party to speed up the process. so I say Good luck to you ha-ha, it wont be an easy task to pirate most there.

with a Decent ship and a party and a few candles each(preferably AoS), members with good maritime knowledge should be able to grind BRs there, just targeting the smaller NPC ships with no flags, easy ships that have approx. 200-300 durability. 200 of those in a party of 5 will not take long, and then if we get the EXP boosters like before you should be able to get about 150k-180k exp if they don't nerf that until higher levels.

btw quest foe AoS requires r9 searh & r11 theo.doubt we will see any AoS for at least a few months
The nerfs did affect the game when some extremely whiny pirates left the game. But pirates affected the game prior to that. There was a decent amount of players that left because of being pirated. They also left because pirates were camping ports and making it impossible to even trade or adventure for a lot of the time.
I remember making it to Calicutt and then having to play another toon for a couple of days until I found a camping gap through which I could escape. I left the game for months because of the disconnects and pirates. I do not want to play the game to a pirate's tune. I want to trade and adventure where I want without being bothered by someone who gets his jollies by ruining the game for someone else.
Infamous, your attitude disgusts me. There are plenty of NPCs that you could pirate, but you do not want to do that because you would not be ruining someone else's fun. You scoff at Wendy because she "whined" about being pirated. Instead of caring about someone else's enjoyment of the game, you act as if his enjoyment has no meaning.
It is no skin off my nose as I am not coming back to the game. I just know that some good players are going to give it a try and I hate that their experience will be tainted by your uncaring soul.
And do not give me that "it is only a game" bs. Nor tell me that not being able to pirate ruins your game. There are NPCs, BHs, other pirates, and some amenable non-pirates that you could pirate. There is absolutely no need to pirate players that you know do not want to be pirated.
Playing another toon makes perfect sense. And, of course, 2 days means 2 days of real time. There were probably opportunities to leave when I was not in the game.

They aren't removing tributes are they? That would change my cavalier attitude about piracy a bit :P But I would adapt. Also if I can get pillage ordered naked I'm not gonna be in love with that situation. But I guess the pillage orders work both ways. I'll just have to figure out where to farm them to be ready for that game. Or maybe obstruction...
I really wish this company would end the information blackout and spill some real details of what exactly is going on. Who's in charge of doling out the information around here, Kim Jung Il? It's hard to get excited or even discuss such matters when all I know is...
"...revamp many aspects of PvP Battles, including plundered items and Deck
Battle frequency, plus a number of other system rebalances."
Now using words like "revamp", "frequency", and "rebalances" sounds like not just a straight un-nerf? Am I right? Sounds like some kind of balanced fix is happening? Anyway, the hope that Vertigo seems to be recognizing some of the big
issues and attempting to do some balanced fixes rather than
taking the lazy all in or all out approach (or at least that's what
I'm reading into what cryptic little I have to go on) is one of the only things
helping me move beyond my disgust over the wipe and how it was handled.
I really hope they make some good decisions here.
But Deck Battle frequency? WTF does that even mean? You kind of go to deck once and the battle's over when there's a winner right? One battle I can deck but the next battle no deck?
Really at this point what's the sense in even getting excited or upset about this. What exactly are we even talking about? Nobody even knows what the hell is going on. I need to stop getting sucked in to this maddening forum.
