Some things I never understood

HelloAllHelloAll Posts: 701Member Intermediate
So maybe I could start this relaunch with a bit more knowledge.

I’ve never used a ‘plunder order’ is it? What does it do?

I’d see people selling hundreds of purchases orders at a time in Seville. Where did they get them from?

Is it worth trying to get to SB r5 just to refit ship?

Is getting to R7 tactics and then charging to fleet with me so people can get SB job exploiting the game?

What do the aide tickets do that we are recieving in the founders box?

When toons has glows around them...what had they done to get that?

Why did some ships have bubbles and feathers coming out of them?

Why is the sky blue?

Are we nearly there yet?

Regarding R7 tactics, no, some players charged money for pulling jobs. Being one of those who had QMPs to spare, I just happily shared the job with anyone who needed it, and accompanied them for the quest talking points which required R7 tactics as well. How you or others choose to do it is your business, though.

See I wouldn't charge to get the job I helped others get it when I was on OGP and I was happy to help them  get it and even helped them to finish it for free

I never said i was going to charge, just asking if it was considered and exploit
  • GoosioGoosio Posts: 71Member Beginner
Trouble is, there are going to be fewer people with that skill rank to start from "fresh", and fewer QMPs going around to try and pull the quest. I know there are those who'd still do it for free, I was just pointing out that it wasn't considered an exploit to ask money for letting others in on quests.

Allows you one plunder attempt on a ship engaged in melee they used to work in pvp now only pve

I’d see people selling hundreds of purchases orders at a time in Seville. Where did they get them from?

Dungeons, sailor bottle, or trade quests, colony reward tickets they all over really.

Is it worth trying to get to SB r5 just to refit ship?

just to refit not really... the main draw of r20 SBer is to get the most success modding and to build ships with best cargo and material and hulls. R5 and stop is useless imo

Is getting to R7 tactics and then charging to fleet with me so people can get SB job exploiting the game?

No. The point of the game is to quest and share it its how people who may not have required skills get certain jobs. if you charge people if you don't still cool you play your game how you want. I paid 200mil for a dungeon quest it's how the world works

What do the aide tickets do that we are recieving in the founders box?

Grant your aide experience in that category ie. aide voyager ticket (adventure) grants 30k advice exp to an aide. 36k if you have the Side Cabin skill equipped on their ship

When toons has glows around them...what had they done to get that?

It's for players who have a certain amount of attack or defense
Red attack over 250 I think
Blue defense over 250 I think
Yellow if you have the whole sheriff outfit equipped

Why did some ships have bubbles and feathers coming out of them?

Those are special hull effects if you have certain items you can add these effects. I never like that silly crap so I don't know all the items one of them is called spikenard oil

    Why is the sky blue?

Light reflecting against air and all kinda other science sh*t

    Are we nearly there yet?

Yes soon we will have uwo again lol

Getting to sb5 to refit is a major convenience, and you should continue to be a r20 sb if you want to build good ships, but it takes a long time. You can get po's by participating  in the ship races from city to city, or getting printed tickets at a company colony with a printer (2 per day). The immigration reward tickets also give po's and other nice stuff. I will have a colony with printer asap, and anyone is welcome to join with no requirements - look for KeeblerDwarfCo in Seville or London.

No idea about the sheriff outfit.
I am pretty sure the Yellow glow meant that you had the Attack AND Defense stats for glowing. I am sure I have it in my notes somewhere but I am too lazy to look it up.

Question: I’d see people selling hundreds of purchases orders at a time in Seville. Where did they get them from?

most of those PO's in seville  come from massive multi fleets farming quests for them. Most people who know whats up wouldnt sell them.  There are many great quests for all the types of PO's and you should be picking up these quests . you can see what PO reward youl get from what the quest is asking you to do. Alot of the times ill port hop to get a specific quest before a pepper/spice/gold run, and once there ill get another quest for the return voyage.  You must take advantage of this always, i wouldnt buy any PO's unless they did a double event.

Question: I’ve never used a ‘plunder order’ is it? What does it do?:

Best use for these is always trying to loot rare book or items off from special spawns at sea... Theres alot to this and many secrets about where to use them.  more for me thanks!! lol

I meant to say it was the goldsellers using multi fleets to farm PO's.  I really do hope papaya isnt going into this blindly and wont even know about or do anything to stop this from happening.  Very early on there was small actions taken to prevent it but no real effort was put in to stop the gold sellers BOTTING the quests. Some players were doing it without the botting, but 5 man multi fleets should not be allowed for this one reason alone... PO farming

Pretty sure yellow glow is for having super high formality, as blue is def and red is atk.

yellow glow is for having the complete sheriffs outfit, blue glow is having a high def/attack, red glow is for having even higher def/attack

Blue = if your gear has been increased +180  for example 100d boots and gloves will turn u bluel
Red = if ur attack power on the character info screen = more than 180

Yes u can charge people for pulling job quests.  They are also repeatable, sometimes if there's a quest chain to unlock the last quest to get the card, those pre-quests are not repeatable.  Also some people made loads of money by pulling and sharing the dungeon quests.  You can usually find someone who'll fleet u for a refit for free, so if ur only going r5 sb, i'd pick a new skill.  Those aide voyager records (AVR's) add 30k xp to ur aide for that class.  I do think u can only raise them by 3 levels at a time, so i would reccommend u get them to like level 10 or so before u use those otherwise u m ite be wasting some of the xp.  Same for doing those battle reports, If u only need 5k, 7k, 9k, for the next 3 levels, that's 21k xp, if u do a BR that gives 30k xp, u've just lost that 9k.  That works for you as well as ur aides.  A "Pillage Order" is a melee use item.  You use them during the melee rounds of pvp. They force a plunder when the item is used up to 3x per  (not sure if it's per melee contact or per battle).  You get them from "bloodstained treasure boxes" which u get from turning in "spoils" at a pirate town (nassau, jolo...) and u get spoils when someone uses a fine tribute on u after u attack them. Those glowing orbs are from ur gear.  If u have +80** added to ur gears, IE +100d gloves and boots, u get a blue aura, if u have over 180 atk, u get the red aura, and if u have a complete set of gear, like the sheriff outfits or engineer outfits, then u turn yellow.  Those effects on ships are an astro consumable that lengthen's the time ur skills last at sea.  IE Caution stays on longer.  The sky is blue cause of the minerals in the air reflect blue light,   Nope still got 11 days. ( well 11 days when i post this, still have to be approved WHICH SUCKS ARSE for my posts to appear.)

Refit is awesome.  No matter what you're doing, refit helps you do it better.

Aide tickets grant XP to aides of the type of ticket.

The glow means passing a threshold of defense(blue) or offense(red).  Think it's 200, but might be higher

Well, now that the floodgates have been opened, allow me to ask a few noobish questions of my own that I have nevver been able to get a satisfactory and clear (emphasis on CLEAR for those of you kind enough to respond) :)

    1. How does this Founders Reward "Inventory Expansion Bag" work?  Which of the many things that are sometimes called inventory does it expand and by how much and for how long?

    2. How exactly do Florentine recipes work once you "buy" them with contribution points?  Is each "purchase" a one-time use or an ability to use the recipe for a limited or unlimited time?  If a one-time use, does it mean one use of the recipe for a single result or one use of the recipe for as many results as you have the materials for?

@HelloAll: In answer to one of your questions, imho it is most definitely not worth it to grind SB5 merely to be able to refit ships.   Refitting is a minor tweak which most SBers are glad to do for you freely (but some caution in entrusting your ship to a stranger is adsivable).  Shipbuilding is a popular skill and I am sure you have met plenty of them even in your own company who are glad to perform a refit on your behalf.

Here's something i'll never understand, and peeps like this need to have spot light put on them, so they can be removed.  I did a google search for  "UWO improved skysail" cause i'm not sure on that stats on that part to see what i was getting on my founders rewards.  This link is on the 2nd page of that search list.
