Lets start a constructive post here :D If anyone has any knowledge or information on what/how to develop the world of UWO please pass that along here. The more people we have using founder rewards and early gameplay to actually develop this game the better. I was around towards the end of Beta, but i never did any of that stuff i just played around.
My knowledge comes from extensive hours of grinding. I know most of the best places to grind and what quests to get and where to get them, and how to do the grind. Many players enjoyed my ghost grinds cause i made them easy and simple. I also will be farming AoS's the first week and would love for peeps to join me. So that on the 2nd week we can begin the black sea BR and get some maritime levels going. That's where i'll be helpful, as far as development, only thing i ever did was invest for mayor and court ranks :D

I know I am forgetting some things, but this is more or less the plan I would use. I am still not sure I'll play again. This is a larger community focused list, but that's my mindset. Take it as you will.
1. Investing in all the EU ports (and eventually farther ports) to get development up so all the trade goods, recipes, ships, etc. get unlocked. So maybe if somebody has a list they could post of what ports are most important that we should focus on.
2. Each nation unlocking their National port permits. Not sure if that's the right expression but for those who don't know... When we get up to the port permits that require Imperial Quests to unlock... We won't be able to just do the IQ once and we get the permits. Each nation will require I think it's 5000 national contribution points for that region. Each individual that does an IQ will get something like 4 points counted towards that 5000 total their nation needs to hit. Once your nation hits the required collective 5000 points THEN you get your actual port permits. And once that's done, anyone after can just do the IQ once and get their permits the way most of us are accustomed to. So we will all need to run Imperial Quests like madmen for the good of our nations.
Forgive me if any of this is a little off. I wasn't there for beta. This is just what I know from having read a lot of the old player reviews and stuff from the era.
I also know that Nations control over ports was a big deal to the original founders. I believe in the pre-Nanban (and possibly even pre-spice) world the tax breaks and goods in these oddball ports was much more important as all they had was what we would now think of as short distance trade. Jems from India were the big time goods. Company directors within nations would coordinate over what ports they were trying to control and work together.
I don't really know if that's going to be relevant for us though, as not only did the introduction of Investment bonds kind of brake it for them at the time, but we will most likely be jumping right past any relevance of short distance trade in our rush to get SEA unlocked for spice and EA unlocked for Nanban. But I'm not much of a trader so who knows how that will all shake out.
1st floor 1 lvl 45 & 1 lvl 47
2nd floor 1 lvl 47 & 1 lvl 50
I think this point of the game got lost the last time through, the cash shop completely destroyed port investing. The whales just took care of it. Lucky for my nation we had one such Whale and only because of him we were able to weather that storm. Essentialy this one player had more money than all of france put together in the form of invesment bond. Such a shame to see the game just trashed like that by the cashshop.
Get your newbies involved early and often or my nation will crush yours with the weight of all those ducats haha!!
not underestimating anyone's ability, just being realistic
at start we are all 0/0/1,0/1/0 or 1/0/0 with no skills and no def
to get to a point where you can attempt bordeaux,we will have to do quite a bit of skill grind, lvling up plus we will need sufficient armour to withstand the attacks of the enemies in there
only if you concentrate solely on this,w/o doing anything else would it even be possible to try it
