A noob weighs in

I'm almost glad I haven't been playing this game for years. It sure does seem like people who have put massive amounts of time into the game are getting reamed, and that kinda sucks. Especially those who bought astros recently. I only have 100 hrs, which is enough to get a taste.
I wasn't around for the start of UWO (which would have looked much like this reset is going to look, for what it's worth). I wasn't around to unlock stuff for the first time, or be the deciding investment that opened the whatever for everyone to enjoy. By the time I got here, everything was ready to go and stagnant and expensive as balls. Familiar and pleasant territory for most of you, but after a bit of research I realised I wasn't going to make a difference in the world at all.
But I can do that this time around. I can help shape the game. I might well be the first across the last wave for whatever port matters at the time.
Yes, I suspect if I'd had more at stake, more to lose, that I might be bitter as well and rightly so. But I can't help but think of this as an opportunity rather than a beating.

From a vet to a noob the only advice I can give you is not to expect to be a top tier player without spending your life in front of this game or investing a ton of money in it. Play casually, don't spend a lot of money trying to get shiny ships and even if they wipe again you won't feel too bad. This game has a paywall to get into the top tiers like you wouldn't believe and since they have shown they are willing to reset all your progress it now just seems pointless trying to get to the top tier anyways....
