To unlock Oceania port permit, you need to have acquired Sea port
permit. Go to Seville palace and this will trigger the 'Circumnavigation
Quest'. You do not need to complete the Circumnavigation quests to
receive the Oceania port permit, just need to first start it and once
the first talk you should acquire the port permit.

    @Lerxst

Just read your post above. Very few people have thought about the micro-detail of what it will be like in the early days - perhaps because the veteran players don't remember what it's like to sail in a school ship! I joined the game more recently so I still recall how because of the slow speeds the world was much bigger.

Even sailing from London to Dan Helder took time. And if you're only buying say 15 sheep each visit, you're gonna spend a lot of time port-hopping. If you're a sewer then Dan Helder-Edinburgh is an important early route - but if the wind's against you going North, then you'd better make sure you've got a book to read!

When I was grinding mid-level sewing and I'd gone to Venice to do feathers, it was a BIG decision 'cos you were committing to the best part of two hours to sail there.

And on the subject of the ships - you've got a tiny hold capacity. So you can 't say "right I'll save time and buy the mats to do sewing, casting and crafts all at the same time" - because the logistics don't stack up. It's gotta be one thing at a time.

For an early-level player I reckon just sailing about is one of the big grinds. I think vets may have forgotten that.

That's why I'm not gonna rush my restart. Slow'n easy. Or you'll burn out - probably with frustration.

You mean clicking "follow admiral", then "unfollow admiral", then hit "sail handling skill, repeat.  Over and over and over.. yes i remember that grind.  New way is much better.  You do know that every port permit has 1 IQ that u don't have to bring anything with you.  In each one there's 1 quest where u just talk to people to complete the IQ.

No mate. I'm talking about the relationship between speed of travel/ distance covered/ our play time. We're not in speedboats any longer, we're back in a dinghys.

I didn't know about those IQs at every port. Where do you get the quests?

Not at everyport.  I was refering to the Imperial Quest we have to do to unlock port permits.  Each section u have to unlock, just look on ivryo.  You find 1 quest per port permit, tht only requires u to talk to people.  That way you can do them all w/o having to bring stuff with u.  Oh i understand,  I had the fastest boat in the game, a MAXMOD G6 chc :D  29 minutes or less from EA to seville, loaded.  Now will be 30 minutes to calicut from seville.  And that's only with 50% booster and a modded samburk.  pre fusion so mite be faster with a 4/4g3 grad samburk :D

I sometimes wounder how the elder herd of players ever got their information. Some quests need realy specific information. I often got stuck for days before one was able to share me a little more detail on sa specific quests or ability before I finally managed to fulfill it. So there were many port opening quests.

What was your initial source of information, how did once u guys found out how the fork was fitched...

Lot of the beginning information was from the wiki's from japan, china, korea, taiwan wiki's just got translated, and over time people built websites just as Jazzmin is doing with uwo.wiki.  Also, it was a discovey game, just u had to figure out everything.

I learned everything i know from a japanese player named hm11, he had very basic english but over the months of playing and communicating with each other i was able to understand him better and his skill in english improved.

When the server first open i have no doubt about half the players connecting to gama were playing outside their regions.  This is how i learned the game.

Ivyro is good once you start using it a ton and the very bad translation starts to actually make sense lol. Sometimes we would get the information and still had to try different things before we figured something out, but ivyro always pointed us in the right direction, trial and error took care of the rest.

I was refined max rank rowing, refined rank 20 assault, rank 15 all other melee skills. Max refined cannon skills SB20, 20Handi, Sewing, Casting and started working on my bank flow when they hit us with this reset.

I for one am super upset, I may start over again but i certainly will not dedicate myself like i did not to mention; it will take me a very long time to save up for a decent boat now because I was never an astro buyer/player.

Same view here Wes. It was heartbreaking and sad to play from start, as for many players who did a great times for last few years, but let's just do this as another challenge.. too early to say anything about new host that we haven't know much yet unless we already see it running for few months imo

After this wipe the game will definitely become again UNCHARTED! And that's the good point! OK, everyone lost something but think about all the new "old" things you will be able to do!

I was at shipbuilding base rank 15, with about 5000 points to go to get to 16. I get it that it sucks. but I'm still excited about starting again, in fact I'm really jonesing for some Udub right now. So, dilly, dilly mates!

Oh, you don't have to go Seville to start Circumnavigation right away because I did with Lionel. However, it's SOL for Spanish players after they will need to get promotion or special event by talking to Cardinal Tabera. Oh yes, I was able to avoid to trigger event at Las Palma by used Lyonesse to leave port without had Jose talked to Port Official.

Wes, sounds you and I should start a company and recruit the best players who want to make an immediate mark. I started a post proposing a company "bootstraps" for those players ready to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and get this show on the road.

    let's do it!
