starting in Portugal is a good bet since they need the least amount of fame to reach Calicut. and then start the spice trading early on that will be the big money maker until traders can get to SEA then EA

Well, most probably it will be Amsterdam for the main and London for the alt. I really enjoyed the nationality event history of the Dutch and cannot let them down! And there's nothing better from a capital with population but no shouting and lagging...

I will join Venice. I started there when I first started (and quit 2 month later..).
And when I defected with Arcanis to venice I had the best time in the game, so I will go there again and hope my fun will be waiting there for me :D

French starting place is good for starting out as well. Duck plucking a very short hop away. and nearly every port around Sardinia has some sort of cloth trade... not to mention cotton/jute along N.African coast. You'll be trading in flannel very quickly

i believe if you have the port permits you can take a class at any beginner school. if im not to old and making up my own memories i done a couple school quest in amsterdam when i started in london

I will return as Dutch once again and set up House of Oranje in Amsterdam. @Daemmonium Dutch has one of the lowest fame requirements to unlock India and Caribbeans. For those who have been around since beta of UWO, we will understand that the task ahead is huge. Players will need to work together within the nation.
