A question about IP addresses

A good friend of mine likes to come over on the weekends with his laptop to play UWO with me.  But I heard we can only use 1 IP to play.  So does that mean we can't play together at my place? 

Greatly appreciated with any sort of info on this question.  Also does that mean we can only have 1 account?

    I'm assuming you mean one toon logged in per IP.  And I have not come across anything to that effect.  Not to mention we are already dealing with the sting of the wipe and not allowing alts/ multiple players per IP is just going to set more people off.  Aside from the bulk of users having alts, you have quite a few people with multiple family members that play together.  I imagine if anyone new for sure they decided to only allow one account logged in per IP you would know about it immediately by all the irate bitching and "I'm done"s erupting all over the forum.  And all the resultant arguing once those from the "alts ruin the game" camp start chiming in on what a great idea it is.

    If you actually mean an account being tied to 1 actual IP you are allowed to play from, that wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.  Every ISP that I know of issues you a different IP every time you reboot your modem.  You need to pay your ISP extra for a static IP, or pay someone else for the service, or deal with some shady free VPN.
