Please release more info/direction

Hi Papaya and gang!

21 days between the close and re-launch. 15 of those have
passed (including today), 6 days remain. Info so far:

Limited FAQs

Account transfer guide

Founder’s rewards

Would be nice to get some more details/specifics:

How are we logging on? Download new launcher?

What can we expect the first day?

What are these “many re-vamps and system rebalances” you
are referring to?

Are you allowing the use of alts?

Anything different we should know going in?

Etc.?

P.S. While I agree we shouldn’t inundate Papaya with all
mater of issues, I don’t think handling tickets in support of a game is going
to delay the release of that game?

I'm starting to agree myself.  The lack of any communication is starting to annoy me.  It's getting harder and harder to maintain interest in the game, while playing forums.  Getting real close to finding me a new game to play myself.  I for one have high hopes, but seriously if this is how we will be treated maybe not starting back is the smart thing to do.  Would suck even more to put more time into a game, where a host gives little to no regard to communication with players.  If anyone has any contract with papaya, like walker to they sent a message to.  Relay to them the sheer importance, of communicating with us.

Like so many others I was bummed at the idea of not having access to play UWO for 2 weeks and wondering, "what the heck am I going to do in the meantime!?".  Well, what do we do when our favorite MMORPG is temporarily unaccessible? We go searching for another one to play temporarily to quench our thirst until UWO comes back online. But it's interesting, as more time goes by I'm becoming more invested in this other game. I'm 90% sure I'm coming back to UWO and it will be my game of choice (only one MMORPG can occupy my time at once LOL). But I'm sure I'm not alone. For the good of the game UWO game developers need to release bits of info to keep players interested, focused. Too easy to lose people during this downtime.

This Thread is about needing and getting more information as the countdown gets closer.

We still do not have a GM here to help with the Forum and arrange things and get the house in order.

    WE need More information

OK Papaya, i really do appreciate the changes and saving the server, but if this is the treatment we recieve seems alot like how OGP treated us to start with.  Ur seriously changing my mind about the new server with lack of communication.  It's been 14+ days since sever closed, and i know 21+ days since it was announced. If in that time u havn't gotten things squared away it doesn't appear you can.  Just being honest here, since u refuse to communicate with us.

They probably don’t care. Just guys in an office that know we will play anyway

They might be dealing with the 100's of tickets sent in and what ever changes they adding to the game

Yeh your right ace. Must be too difficult to post a sticky on the forums for us with s quick update.
Not like they deleted all our moneys worth of goods or anything.

I bet they are so busy they have no time to say hello to each other when the turn up for work in the morning...
In fact maybe they haven’t been home since the close down, just working 24/7.

Or maybe they just don’t care :)

We don't know what is going on or how much screw up OGP did that they might have to fix and re code the whole game :)
  • HelloAllHelloAll Posts: 701Member Intermediate
Yeh so much code that they can’t take 5 minutes to post a simple sticky.

There is no argument for them.

So easy to just post a simple message to update us or even tell of the plans.

Or even to thank us for our patient.

No excuses! Don’t care how busy they are.

I’m busy too but I know how to make time for important things.

Highly doubtful it will delay the release. Even with more tickets than expected, you don't put devs on customer support. If you do, then....LOL is all I'll say.

It would be really nice if they allowed people to go on ahead and download the game client in advance.  It would save them some stress and congestion come launch day.  And if their forum presence is an indication, they need all the breaks they can get.

Since they are taking such a complicated game maybe they're still figuring out how it all fits together.

But even then it would be nice to have a 2nd forum section where they could be honest about not knowing the answers yet....make it a no reply area if they want, but at least show us they're on the job and not in the break room playing solitaire (j/k.)

Or maybe they haven't formed the UWO GM Team yet.....just guessing the ones who are migrating the game aren't the ones who will communicate with the players(?) Maybe the ones hired to be GMs were all given a start date that hasn't come yet, like Monday the 16th?

    @aceman39

I do know it took me all of 5 min. to write and post the OP.  Think of it this way. Let's say it takes 1 minute to respond to each ticket.

    5 minutes = 5 tickets = 5 people serviced.
    5 minutes = 1 Papaya Forums Post = 100's+ served?

Volume of tickets is not an excuse.

Why would they hire customer support to camp on the forums of a game that has NOT YET BEEN RELEASED.  They probably have 1 guy, with only canned responses, combing their support ticket system, and helping who he can.  With no other knowledge than that.  And then DEVS that are too busy setting things up, so do not come on the forums (or are not allowed to)

It makes sense.  The real CS will probably start work early next week, in the ramp up to release.  Give it until the 16th, I bet we start getting responses then.

2 days just prior to release? And you think that's acceptable?
  • Centex3kgtCentex3kgt Posts: 61Member Beginner
    @Airhaun
Yes actually, I do think that is acceptable.  Why would a company that is trying to release a game pay for CS well before the game is launched?  Wouldn't you rather they spend their money on development and setup instead of wasting it on premature CS?

Seriously, any comment from papaya Is welcomed… what will be the rules chances? Will the 1,5x extra fame skill be maintained? And…

What are you talking about? I'm referring to a 4 sentence post, updated FAQ, the slightest effort to reach out to player base.

    So hears what I think,

I think PPP has yet to release any new info on the Revamps because they still don't have a clue what needs to be Revamped. Its to easy to get the original game from KOEI and set it in motion with all the updates. That was the whole point of wiping our server was it not. To do a reset..
I also think there is just 1 customer support responding to tickets with a Generic response every time because that 1 CS guy doesn't know squat just like us and has to ask PPP for the answers himself.
3 days left and still nothing on even a time this game will open, let alone the changes they will make, or if it will be browser based or a loader is required. Oh and FYI, PPP is mostly made up of old OGP staff.. so don't expect much difference between the companies. new name. same old shit.

They probably don't want to scare off people before the game is even launched. Wait and see what changes are made when the server goes up. I'm sure many players will be disappointed by the new piracy regulations. I expect to see some info soon though.

Someone said the company claims to have 13 million players.. If even .001% of them join us, then we would have tons of people to pirate. I'm really excited, hopefully I'm not too disappointed. If they release the game as it was on Netmarble, and enough people actually play.. Then it's back to the good old days for us..

I predict about 400 old UWO players and 50 new players from Papaya will start the first week.  Another 500 will trickle in over the year to come, and then the population will stagnate around 1000 active and part-time players.  I'm leaving out the thousands of alt accounts that will form.
