I asked about multi's yesterday in a ticket and got a response just now so here you go everyone!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting UWO Support Team.

We apologize for the delayed response due to a heavy influx of support tickets. We have been trying to get to everyone as fast as possible. Thank you for understanding.

For multi-boxing rules, we will be following the ones from OGPlanet, in which they allowed logging of 3 characters only at the same time:

"Max 3 Characters Logged in at the Same Time from One IP/Household – Each IP/Household are allowed to have 3 characters on at the same time regardless the number of players. Violation of this rule may result in the permanent suspension of several or all accounts. Players may report with screenshot to Support, we will investigate. IP is not computer, computers from the same household sharing one modem/router has the same IP. Our system is also capable of detecting real IP and proxy IP, thus using proxy will be treated as the using same real IP."

We will be updating our Game Guidelines on our forum shortly after the relaunch, so please stay tuned for the announcement.

    So basically they don't want families to play together. Well guys I am out unless they change the rule. My family and I will go find another game. Take care and fair winds to everyone.

    Oh that I think you can rotate between families when come to 3 toons ,but you can play your main toon along with one toon each from your family.

    What? A family of 4 can not fleet and play together because of the rules. We did ADV. together and tried it on OGP but it didn't work out to well. One person has to sit out. Then the one that sits out has to play catch up if they want the discovery's that everyone else gets. Family game time for this game is over for us. We will find another. But it was kind of nice to have a game with history to play with the kid. Oh well.

    Perhaps requesting an exception for your family from PP once the game gets underway might yield a satisfactory response?

    Yeah I put that in my message and they sent that back even said we could prove through skype if they wanted. "Each IP/Household are allowed to have 3 characters on at the same time regardless the number of players. "

    That doesn't explicitly say we can have 3 characters per account. And it doesn't say whether we can log all 3 characters from one account on at the same time, as long as no one else from the IP is playing.

    It would be nice to know the answers, rather than assuming they will follow all of  OGP's methods.

    They seriously need to reconsider and let 4 toons per ip. That lets spouses, siblings, roomates, etc play together. 3 per ip means someone has to play at a disadvantage from their roomate/etc, ergo one plays two toons, and one can only play one toon. The result I have hear from many friends over the years is the odd man out just stops playing and moves on to another game.

    I think we lost alot more players because of that rule vs the multis it was designed to limit.

    While I always thought a rule like one client per computer was a better rule then 3 ips per household, whatever rule they choose needs to be hard and fast.  While Noobness case may be true and it's unfortunate he's got caught up in it, i think most cases you would find those family of 5's were really one person running 5 toons.  It's just too easy to cheat by saying oh ya those are the wife and kids.

    Maybe you can try to create private server for UWO so that your family can have fun to play together. I know nothing about how to create private server because I don't think I can follow instructions lol.

    3 toons logged on at the same time per IP address is not new. If noobness and roiber were doing something else before then they should have been band. Their imaginary family and friends were not able to all log in at the same time before, this is no hardship.
    Are people just looking for things to complain about?

    I’m over the moon with 3 to be honest. I only had 2 anyway.

    Just need to figure out how to do it on the same comp like i did with ogp.

    And I never fleeted with my 2 for money making.

    I used my g3 aug clipper (that was quick) to drag my alt around in his Arabian galley to open the map.

    The the rest of the time I’d leave one at port grinding collection or fishing while I’d play using the other.

    Ever tried sea battles with an alt? (Of course you have) Omgoose, it - does - not - work. LOL! At least not for me.

    as to logging 2 or 3 toons on same account you can not even log into same account on 2 launcher instances

    @Watchkeeper Yeah we did do something else when they made the rule on OGP. We quit paying money into the game and we quit playing.We enjoyed this game When OGP first launched it up until they made the rule. If we as a family can't play together then whats the point of "family game time" ? Also it is not an "imaginary" family. Believe me my family is very real. Why not stop being a troll?

    So I doubt Papaya Play will be looking for 4 players from the same IP always, they would be taking SSs from players and CAs (if they still have) then investigating. so if the Player base doesn't see 4 together always on Private. I doubt there would be an issue, because at the start a lot will be fleeting. can't report all fleets with 5 in it.

    Yeah I get that @Laviol but we do fleet together and quest together. It is just us 4. But it would be to much of a risk to play for 4-5 months only to get banned because someone decides to send in a SS. That's why we quit playing on OGP. We tried to play with 1 person sitting out but it wasn't very fun. It's fine though cause their are many other games we can play together. We will probably go with Final Fantasy 14 online. It looks pretty good and subscription normally makes a game much better anyway. This will be my last post on here but I will come back and check to see how things are going from time to time. I am kind of curious. People can believe what they wish of me and my family whether they believe they are real or fake. I know the truth and that's all that matters. Here is some more truth. I bet without a doubt that their are others caught up in this situation also who either decided to quit or not play at all.

    Love all these no life neckbeards commenting on peoples "imaginary families"

    Do they really believe it is unrealistic for a couple to live under the same roof and play this game? 3 is such a stupid number. Not sure how hard it would be to cap it at least at 4. This way my gf can run an alt and I can. Now one of us has to decide when and if we can run that alt? Bogus.

    for me it doesn't matter as my son no longer lives with us. we typically fleet with my 2 alts and his alt  but i don't think we will do that  because i dont want any busybody sending in SS  wasting GM time. we will see how it goes though

    Mine  is mostly when I grind my crafting skill cause seems like with mats you never have enough cargo hold

    I do the same @Aceman - it's just for buying mats. But this time I'm going to try develop my Alt as a trader, so she's got more of her own character.

    @Noobness - if I was in your place I'd be using my neighbour's IP address. My phone and tablet often log onto hers first rather than mine. I could easily run 6 accounts. I'm not going to - it's too much work.

    Two toons works okay for me and even then I was tempted to just leave one behind.

    @noobness:  Its none of my buisness but I am courious as to all of your ages.  To me it seems very unusual to have a pile of family members actually playing UWO together at the same time.

    Just me and my alt. We fleet together and do battle reports (both get credit for all the ship kills even if only one does the fighting if following admiral), or I play one toon while the other is busy on a long distance sail. Or have one go somewhere for building supplies while another goes somewhere else, then meet at colony, or nanbanning with plenty of cargo space - around 4200 when I lost all my gear. Two toons is plenty and just the right number for me.
