A plea to all UWO players

I wil be returning to UWO. Easy decision for me. Only been playing for 9 months so the wipe is no big deal. Gives me a chance to get it right second time round. But if I was a long time player. Yeah, I would be so p****d off. All those hours. And ducats. And lost ships and skills and, well. I won't go on. I feel your pain. But. There was a reason you put in all that graft. Because UWO is a unique game. Nothing like it on the big WWW. For those who dont want to shoot it up or burn it down or cast spells or whatever.. Who want a relaxing game to come back to after RL has done its stuff for the day. Where you dont suffer endless deaths and respawns but set long term goals (heh for me I never made it to Xanadu) and forge those on line friendships where you help out and get help. And have some good crack whilst your at it. You know what I mean.

So. For those veteran players who are thinking of quitting. Just think. Its a level playing field. Ground zero. Are you good enough to be the first to open that port? Or nanban? Found the richest company? First colony? Grind the first cutter? First craft/casting/cooking/sewing/alchemy item? First pirate? Dont need to go on. A chance to prove to a long term rival that you were right all along. They suck. Ok. So maybe its a hit of the repeat button and all this is some time off but UWO was never an instant fix. Its a new challenge. Maybe more of a challenge than when you logged off last wondering how long it was gonna take to go from that R12 to R13 skill? 

OGP UWO has gone. RIP. It was only a game. And Papaya? Just another comp playing the market. With a crap comms department. So crap. But for UWO as a damn fine gaming experience that only we the players can breathe life into? Its a new dawn. Give it a chance. Embrace it. Rise to the challenge.  And a plea from us newbies just getting going. Don't quit. We need you. And don't forget. We may even beat you to that first discovery. And even if we don't. You can always give us a tow back to port...

    wasn't there already a thread with this title? but anyway, I agree with you completely. And I've played for a couple of years and lost of lot of time and money invested. But I'm pumped about the reset anyway, and I think those players who are saying they wish the game would just die are dicks. Yes, I said it. You suck if you want this game to die. This is the greatest game even and I will be truly sad when it goes away, like all games will some day.

    I will be there sailing the seas working on my sewing casting and handi and SB skills and trying to rank my skills then refine them all and re rank them again slaps my head did I just say that

    if you are really that good no doubt you gonna be one of top players after wipe! 
    if you were top 10 player pre wipe you can be top 10 player with ease again... I know how server reset feels(I experinced it at diffrent game cant share name in this forums) but this is not response to this. 

    Imagine that OGPlanet instead said "we are shutting down server and this game never gonna come back ever again"
    will this satisfy you more? What if they just said "no one willing to buy this server and we are not making profit to keep servers open" ? Will you be ok with this?

    I experinced both server wipe and game abandon and trust me: You must prefer wipe compared to this -_-

    I made mid levels going into the high ones I had over 30 ships and 50 tickets. The only top ten ship I was missing was SNG. so I figure I lost over $5k maybe closer to ten. but i'll be back.i am pretty sure I won't keep up with you players who can be on the game 16hrs a day, but i'll do well enough.

    Am interested in how deep this server wipe will go.

    As a server start veteran we found quite a few things we could exploit before Netmarble or OGP realised what we were doing and nerfed them

    For example
    Will adventurers be able to exploit TH again?
    Will advanced school students be able to exploit........well not telling you what that one was, it's too good to reveal.

    Me and my brother as well as a few others actually, who have been playing since netmarble days, stopped playing a few months ago. The server wipe and a chance to start from scratch with everyone else is the reason we're coming back. So hopefully for every person pissed a leaving because of the wipe, there will be another like use coming back because of it too.
