Confessions of a UWO addict

Hello, my name is ScurvyTrader and I am a UWOholic.
I have over 12,600 hours logged on UWO.
I have been sober for 16 days.

To fill some of the time in the last 2.5 weeks, I read "The Name of the Wind" Patrick Rothfuss, 700 pages, an excellent book.  I also read his second book "Wise Man's Fear" 1100 pages.
With no third book in the series, I was getting a bit jittery.
Still suffering from withdrawal symptoms, yesterday evening , I planned my first day back running different scenarios thru my head. There were multiple scenarios depending on how much fame I got in school.  I listed out which skills and jobs I would pick up first and which cities I would go to to get the necessary books etc.  There were many versions so I had to write them out.

Then last night I to confirm my addiction diagnosis, I dreamed about playing UWO!
No joke.   hahaha

Hi ScurvyTrader I've seen you around the UWO world.

I've not dreamed about playing yet, but I planned and planned until I realised the options and variations were mind-boggling.

So I stuck to strategy rather than tactics.

Have made my plan too, since server start have never been a player that will ask for help or favors but make, steal or find everything I need myself.
So cooking a priority have made a plan to maximise my time on the new UWO, then decided what I will need most urgently and developed a plan to achive the skills needed to produce the stuff I need.

Of course it all depends on the rest of the community and what they do as to what I will most urgently need to progress.

Are a lot of ego seekers here who are trying to impress others with their maratime prowess threatening to be the future scurge of the sea`s. Others who are committed to helping others and helping the game to evolve into something that will again be enjoyable and profitable for the host enabling it to survive.

My aim is to max out Adventure again, but am hoping Papaya will bring in an influx of new blood to the game, who I will of course help and advise on occasion, but not too much......my play time is limited also I think new players should be left alone to discover and experiment to enjoy the game. Handing them everything on a plate makes the game boring very fast.

If we want the new players Papaya brings in to become UWO addicts too, we should offer a little help, just a nudge here and there on occasion, but give no freebies.

Thats what got us hooked, finding out the unknown for ourselves.

You said and said it well: "a lot of ego seekers here who are trying to impress others with
their maritime prowess threatening to be the future scourge of the seas.
Others who are committed to helping others and helping the game to
evolve into something that will again be enjoyable and profitable for
the host enabling it to survive."

I will be one of the ones "committed to helping others" as well as "promoting team/party/fleet operations"

I found a good way to suppress UWO addicts for those who prefer solo in multi nanban trading or adventure.

The host for depositing your addiction is Uncharted Water 4. You should be able to download it from somewhere. It is an old game, but it has rather rich element and story line. UWO is based upon this game.

I'll be downloading the new client (if there is one) after RL's interference in the form of work is done for the day on the day UWO relaunches
