Dividing an already small starting player pool is a bad idea, I believe. Piracy is part of the game and needs to be a threat to have a real challenge in my opinion.
The existence of pirates should never prevent you from leaving Europe. I've played UWO for 6 years and only been pirated a small handful of times and if you're smart about the way you play you can do the same. If you ever need advice or help learning how to get around the world without getting hit by a pirate just hit up myself or another player willing to help and it would improve your game experience by so much.
kazerniel Hi, well the free from pvp new server isn't going to happen, but you can always use blue flags and never worry about any pvp or battle at all. This item is called Secret no war pact.

A game should be balanced between PvE and PvP, there is no need for a non-PvP server. The only thing needed is to reduce the amount of waters that is PvP. The easiest I suggest is to remain lawless waters as PvP the other waters should be PvE
Im agree with the OP, that should exists a server choice for non-pvp. Not everyone in the game likes it, and it should be nice as an extra option. The current blue flags are nice but those stops npc's too, piracy in the game is not bad, are often players what makes it bad with their attitudes. And yes definitely a non-pvp server should be a suscription server not a free one, and im gladly would pay for it.
@ KanzakiKenzan, seriously who could ever do lvl 50 adventure without at least some trade & battle.the game is made for the three professions to intermingle
@ 0 matotime no adventurer could get that high lvl, because so many quest take you to places where you face npcs.with no battle such an adventurer would die all the time
@crazyhunter2003 - You do not ever need to sell trade goods to make money in this game; nor do you have to kill an NPC to gain ranks in many Maritime skills. Your HP is also based off of Total Level. A 50/0/0 character can indeed survive a mandatory NPC fight with proper gear. Fighting in any Job that has no MRT skills in it gives you less than half the MRT EXP you would otherwise obtain; the majority of EXP gained goes to ADV. It is quite possible to play this game in this way. But if you manage to gain the 10 MRT EXP it takes to reach level 1, then your only recourse is seppuku/ragequit
I can picture Spain, circa the mid 1600's saying, "Hey, um guys. We have LOADS of treasure fleets sailing the Caribbean. Would you guys PLEEEASSSE leave us a lone. Ok?"
This game is different form others, in that it is set in a historically accurate period. Asking for only PvE just has no place in the game. So find ways to adapt, run, sail, etc and get around the pirates.
@Lyonesse hahaha aye thats currently a very good choice (not hard at all with right skills), although it will take many underwork effort and broke TOS, and lots of pain handle with players. Currently im too lazy and really unmotivated for that, and will not be nice bring more chaos where the new game is about to born.
Shouldn't be blue flags. Its going to unbalance economy if any1 can nanban for 100's of mils all the time. Piracy will balance that out atleast for awhile. Blue fags takes away from the realism of sailing the world in those times which makes the game good imho.
There is already a few ways to deal with Pirates in Game without a "toggle"
#1 Fine Tributes( Which are Craftable ) .. #2 Blue Flags ( which are purchased ) #3 Avoid using obvious routes .. In the past during the age of sail , Pirates were a real issue among other things , this game has always had pirates in it .. OGP messed with PVP and Piracy and I for one am glad its going back to where it was .. just sayin
Lerxst, How much do you know about real piracy during the time period of the game? Real pirates mostly sailed small ships close to land. They did not use rowing ships to go around Africa or South America. So no pirates will be allowed to sail these areas in a rowing ship. I also expect to see pirates mostly sailing sloops, xebecs, and smaller rowing ships. I also expect that NO pirates will be sailing in any of the larger warships, and only a select few, determined by lottery, will be allowed to sail a frigate, heavy carrack, or other similar large ship. The game may be set in a historically accurate period, but there is very little about the game that is historically accurate. Your argument to advance your cause is worthless as the game is NOT historically accurate and therefore forcing piracy is no more valid than denying it.
No. That is how I handle a presumed adult that uses a childish saying. I probably should not have mentioned it, but I hate "big boy pants" and "big girl pants".

"Big Boy pants" is a small boy saying.
