Rowing Skill

So I picked up the Rowing skill to start ranking it up as early as possible. But I noticed all jobs that have rowing favoured, are pirate orientated.

Is the rowing skill only really useful if you plan on going pirate/privateer? Or will a high rank rowing still be worth it for other purposes?

    Of course It helps,depending on what ship you will use. A rowing boat has much more sailors on it,that s why many pirates use them. But you don t have to use it for piracy.

    To be honest tho if your not going to pirate there are better options out there.

    Low crew high cargo ships for trade.

    Low crew, low cargo ships for adventure. But they are faster.

    The rowers often need more crew which means more provisions are needed and longer journeys without stopping are difficult.

    Unless you get it refine max lvl, there are non rowing ships that are fast.
    To get a FAST rowing ship, their dura is often low, LLM for example, pirates like it because its one of the fastest rowing boats but the dura is rather low and can be 1 shotted by a skilled player.

    You can get slower rowers but lots of dura and crew but dont expect it to catch a lot of the speedy ships unless, as I've mention, get it refined max.

    didn't refined row just affect turn speed or was that a bug or misinformation? An one shoting a speed built LLM dont take a lot at all 700ish dura iirc

    If your a pirate in a fast LLM then your targeting fast trade ships mostly, not the sort of ship that will likely 1 shot you.

    Plus night evasion helps.

    Refined row did affect speed and turn. A must for high speed rowers.
    Rowing is not really suited to non pirates.
    As others have said the high crew low cargo makes rowers limited in use.
    Even as a battle ship the rower is not as effective since you would need to use the row skill active to have the speed in ring and that means you have one less battle skill to use.

    Not much could get away from a maxed refined row g6 max stat LLM. I do miss it.....
