People against Alts or multiboxes as they call it...................

General Discussion
People keep crying over multiboxes ruining the economy. Then if you don't agree with them you are a cheater and a brainless person that should not play the game like you want to. Now I for one have used a at for storage and holding stuff when you are casting or shipbuilding but yet we all ruin the economy of a game that has an allowance for alts. So I guess we are all cheaters and need to admit we are. I never heard of such ignorant, dumb thinking in a long time and they want to make post over and over about alts. I guess they have a lot of time on their hands to run their mouth and want everyone to play the game like they see it should be played and the rest of us are bad people for using alts......Go figure

    Listen UWO is very diverse with many different players all over the world with different backgrounds , ethnicity , mindsets and ideals. Due to this you will encounter MANY MANY MANY different mindsets of what things should and should not be. Whats acceptable or the norm for you may be COMPLETELY repulsive for another .

    Piracy, Resellers, being too confident , Political views, Pro deck and the opposite , Multis, Seville , Cash shop vs free players, etc.     

    I could literally go on forever the point I'm making is NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO there will ALWAYS be someone who disagrees with what you do. Take my advice don't take it personal respect their opinion and let them talk all they want....but you don't have to listen to it this is why the good lord invented the block list lol

    Don't get mad just GTAB immediately .

    I hope they let us have 4 accounts running from one IP again, because otherwise the wife can't duo while I duo, and that means I'll take a lot of heat if I spend money on something we can't both enjoy equally.

    I agree VictoriasSecret. My Wife and I find it difficult also. Only 1 of us can run an storage grinding alt. This makes it difficult to sail together at the same time. So as a result, we have reduced our game time.

    Victoria and Hunter.  When and which host allowed 4 accounts running per household?  OG was never more than 3.  My husband and I are in the same situation and each have 2 toons we consider mains.  Although it would be easier if we could both run all 2 at the same time we manage to get by taking turns having 2 on at a time.  I think allowing 4 on would just open the door for more abuse by single players running multis.

    I think I'm going to create some alts in honor of THawk and pekker. Have to come up with some good related names though. I'll get back to you on that.

    the only ones i complain about are the A-holes using 5 alts dressed all the same with names either similar  or named like mule caster handi cook those are the ones i say are cheating.

    So a caster or a Shipbuilder or a tailor or a handicraft is cheating cause they use alts for storage, That makes no sense where you get your logic from and the rules say no more then 3 from one IP and that is for the server to look at if they are using 5 alts not us

    Exactly but seems like people want to blame it all on alts and no matter what people who use alts are cheaters in their eyes and he keeps saying we need to be slapped. Worry about his way he plays and not about the way others play and enjoy their game

    What does that have to do with the economy and also alts. How does that have to do with excalibur. People that buy from the UWC shop turns around and sells stuff for a lot of ducats you ever think that what does in the economy and not alts?

    OMG the more people running more than 1 character will generate more cashflow pushing up prices its not people selling cash shop items that generates the excess cash to blow out the economy. yawn

    The ingame economy aside multiboxing (not a storage alt you log in to store stuff to use/sell later the difference is kinda huge) has a much bigger affect on game mechanics effecting ESF votes Investment battles and crap loads more UWO is not a private crafting sim its a fully interactive simulated world and your just feeding on ya own garbage about people trying to force a play style on YOU the more people using more than one character the more people will be forced into YOUR so called play style

    Nobody forces anybody to use a alt they use them cause some people need them you are the one who wants to force people into your play style by saying alts should not be allowed. So what makes you so high and mighty and right and everyone else is so wrong. Before people said it was resellers. Now people saying it is alts. People need to make up their minds for once

    More than 3 toons per IP was allowed in Net Marble and the first 1/2 of OGP days. It was introduced to reduce multi boxers. But it also reduced the family play. Ie couples, siblings having 2 toons.
    Maybe IP wasn’t the way to do it. Maybe there is another way. I’m not saying I know the answer. I’m just voicing my opinion.

    I have only one toon. I have played for years with just the one. If I need a skill or item I don't have, I ask for help from comp mates or friends.
    Alts are just an easy way to forget this is a social game.
    I have no objection to alt use with the exception of the at fleets that nanban nonstop, it does run the economy up quicker.
    When ships are 80-100 billion and a toon can only carry 20 billion everyone has to admit that's a bit overboard.

    That's very accurate Aceman. First, people were crying about item plunder, so OGP nerfed pirates... but then pirates would complain about it. Now, starting from scratch, Papaya decided (wisely in my opinion) to de-nerf pirates, making the game fair to them too and adding a nice risk factor, which is what this game is about for me... probably some kind of Buddhist-like principle about don't valuing your possessions too much, because you can lose them at every moment. For me, that makes me focus more on the game and less in my items and I think it's pretty fair and also better (especially for those people who seem to value ducats too much... the game is called Uncharted Waters, not Sailor Tycoon ;D).

    That was an example. About alts it's basically the same. The people who complains about it seem to be too much stuck to their precious ducats, seeing only the merchant play style of the game. But, a lot of people use alts just for having fun. And there's also the fact that you can ruin economy in multiple ways other than using alts, and you can spy merchant ships for a pirate fellow without using alts and you can do everything without using alts. Using alts is just another way of playing, as I said, very useful in my opinion and also very fun, because you can play multiple story lines at the same time, without losing your time (you know, people eat, sleep, work, study, exercise... this is a game, it shouldn't be too time-consuming just because).

    And there's also the issue of more than one person playing with the same IP. Imagine this on a LAN party xD.
