well , i tried to play the game after the reset , but it dosnt feel the same any more , ( De Ja Poo ) ive been through this shit before ,  i cant stand grinding to were i was before or nanabning for months to get money and build ships all over again , i worked so hard for my skills and levels i earned them and served my grinding time , and now the game is more pay to win with papaya cash shop open from day one , i was still sailing my graduation ship while the cash players sailing MC/CTC/MFCV and FATS !!
that made it clear to me what the direction of the game will be .
i hope you get what you deserve papaya for taking from me all my hard work and forcing me to leave the game i love

Feel sorry to see you go.
I hope one day there will be a total clean server somewhere and we may see u back there then.

I do understand your feelings since I somehow feel the same. It feels empty sometimes, it feels useless of doing it all over again. It doesn't grant the same joy and satisfaction anymore.

Things I did for myself that made it worth playing in spite of the dissappointed feelings about all this are:
    - Accept that I do not belong to the rank of players I used to count me in before.
    - Accept my slower progress since I have no more as much time as I used to have before.
    - Get myself surrounded by kind and friendly ppl to at least have a nice social network in-game.
    - Try out things I didn't do before.

I understand this might not be worth a lot to u anymore but maby it help to others.

Once more, sorry to see you go, fare well mate and when u consider a comeback, do not hesitate to do so!

    Flo!

It's not that some game does this.  It's the Uncharted Waters franchise being dragged through the mud.  It has, from the actual KOEI days, an impeccable reputation making it a game quite unlike most others.  THEN, it's released to the internet common market.  The developers have to make it like the other games or nobody will play it!  So, they let you blow up people and rob their stuff.  Don't control the market.  Then, contribute to off the hook inflation - you know, turn it into a normal MMO.

It's sad to see players go.  Sadder to see the Uncharted Waters franchise out of the water and into the mud.

    Play differently.

I returned, I was here at the last launch, and played for about 5 years or so. I came back, and was having a lot of the same feelings of it feeling like I was doing the same thing all over again. So, this time, I decided to make a maritime toon as my main, instead of maining a trader again. I decided instead of playing with a strictly French company, I would go with a multi-national maritime company.

I stepped out of my comfort zone, and am playing the game from a completely different perspective, and that has made it fun again.

If you were a member of a multi-national company from a strong nation (Spain/England) who was an Adventurer, this time, roll as a Nationalized member of a smaller nation (Venice/France/Port) as a different class. Playing differently can help a lot.

Sorry to see people go because of the wipe. I'd like to tell you things will get better if you stick it out but that's not a 100% thing so I won't. I believe they will though. Honestly I was bored before the wipe. I had pretty much seen it all and done it all. Without being able to redo quest chains or rediscover certain things that might have added back in excitement I was relegated to continuing to do the same things over and over. At least now I can redo all those discoveries. I can't say as I'm upset about the way things turned out but I suppose I can understand how many are upset. Like Rhend said, maybe play differently. If you did a lot of adventure before maybe focus on maritime now, or vice versa. Change your focus and experience something new? I dunno man, I hope people stay but those that feel they have to leave I wish you the best in whatever game you decide to go to next.

We all started the game from zero at some point and we all Enjoyed building our toons up.
So we all have to start again. We enjoyed the game first time why can't we enjoy it the second time?
Yes, I miss my stuff I used to have, we all do. But it's gone. Try enjoying getting that stuff again or do as the previous post Merion and try getting to a different place than before.
If you are not enjoying yourself while on the journey from zero to hero, perhaps you would be happier spending your time in other ways than playing UWO? It is just a game. It should enhance your happiness and not upset it.

I am enjoying the game reset. Sure some things are tough or are taking time. They did the first time around and I enjoyed it then too.
Do you believe your constant negative comments will bring back your old account? Seriously do you? If you cannot get over the wipe you need to find a new game for your own mental health.

I dont care about my old account.

I am not commenting about the wipe. I see big problems in the way they treat a brandy new server.

I dont approve the way they relaunch uwo after the wipe. It doesnt feel like playing uwo, but rather a grinding race interleaved with a premium race.

Lottery is out on day 1,
    Bugs in quest info,
Lack of events after nearly a month (other than grinding race),
    Stuff overpriced,
    School chat filled with alts,
Multi-billion ships are back even before EA was open,

I tried playing peacefully without using any founder rewards, but others have already rushed ahead. There was little chance for any social activities while enjoying the game casually.

As i said before, this is the beginning of the end. Believe it or not, the server economy is not sustainable.

But PPPlay dont care. They will just break even and sell the game to someone else.

If you do a bit investigation, you would notice PPPlay website does not even have contact info such as phone and address. They are ready to flee from any responsibility provided that things go south.

Be loyal or As-s-licking if you wish. I am not going to fuel into this scam scheme.

How is anyone 'being asslicking'? Because they are not crying as much as yourself?
Yep things are not perfect. You can claim it's going downhill, you are probably right, but we can all still play and have fun for now.

You know he is negative on every forum he post on. If he is not happy with the game then he should quit or just play the game and not bitch all the time and calling us ass lickers who the hell you think you are.

didnt meant for my post to be a subject of fighting as i see in the comments , this is my first and only post on the forums , im one of the people who rarely talked in chat in the game , i played the game and focused on my skill till i had my skills max refined and bought decent ships the hard way since i cant spend money on games , i just wanted to vent and say how i feel about this reset and how all this hard work is gone , the reset may not seem like a big deal for people who spend money as they can get ships and boosters the easy way , but for some of us who had skills like max refined rowing and high end ship that we worked really hard to buy and saved a ducat over a ducat for it over a year , the wipe was devastating to us ,
hope you guys carry on and enjoy the game .

But you have to remember that those who can spend money are those that have lost money, and a lot of it.
Yes you lost skills and items and ships.
But they lost skills, items, ships and a lot of real money! I’d say the latter is worse.

Most people care about the wipe. But they still enjoy the game so they play and the play without moaning day in day out. Why you ask?
Because moaning doesn’t help the game become fun...it makes it worse for everyone.

No offence but if you didn’t chat much in game then it seems that maybe your not a community oriented person, so coming on here with this post seems more of another post that is a dig at papaya and one that may put newcomers off, rather than a final goodbye.

If people want to leave do so quietly, not need to slag the game off and possibly put any newcomers off.

I’d suggest reconsider and continue to play. You don’t have to be maxed refined row by the end of the week.
Just take your time and enjoy it.
If your can’t enjoy the recouping of skills then the its nothing about the wipe, you just don’t enjoy the game anymore.

Nobody ever lost money on this game because nobody ever "owned" any part of this game. It was never their property and it always belonged to the publisher/developer. It's funny in a sad sort of way, how many people think they "own" any part of these online games.

    Read the fine print...

Fine print is illegal in Australia.

Imo spending for fun is ok. But spending to get frustration is worthless. $100 down the tube but get nothing would make a lot of ppl quit.

Imo just play casual and do not spend on this game.

Spending and wasteing your time sure, I understand that part, but I think like those ingame trying to make it work are saying, you just have to try and forget about that and move on, make a new character, maybe correct some mistakes you made previously such as skills etc, use the information you gained and bring it to the new UWO, I think once your past the old stuff, it does become easier, trust me, I been through that. I do still miss what I had don't get me wrong and there will be times like "Why am I doing this again" Moments, but you will get back to where you were eventually and hopefully quicker because you now have that experience.
